Dear Mr. Santoro: I apologize that we were not able to accommodate you with the purchase of the WRX STI. Our goal is to satisfy every customer but we obviously fell short in your case. After reviewing the facts, I found that your statements are not completely accurate, and your questions of our integrity and intent are completely wrong. You placed a factory order for a WRX, at which time pricing was discussed that was based on top tier credit. Your credit score was excellent. Upon the vehicle’s arrival to Grand Prix your credit was again run; due to the time period which had passed between the initial submission and final delivery of the WRX to Grand prix a re-approval was required. Unfortunately, the credit rating was preventing a top tier approval which resulted in a higher payment- not a higher selling price just a higher interest rate set by the bank. Bank approvals are not typically guaranteed past a week and the vehicle took time to arrive form Subaru. When this was discussed, you insisted on speaking with the bank, in this case Chase, to verify if we were accurate and truthful. Chase substantiated the facts which we had described to you. At no point did Grand Prix not want to deliver the vehicle, in fact we spent a great deal of time working with you and other banks in an effort to obtain a better approval. The WRX which was ordered for you was never sold to another customer. In fact it was swapped to another dealer. The reason for a delayed refund was the inability to get word from you as to how to proceed, either canceling or paying the higher rate. I am extremely sorry that we were not able to accommodate you.
