Dear Mr. Ingerman I am very sorry that you did not have a positive experience in our dealership. Nothing is more important than your satisfaction. After reviewing the situation with my staff, we feel that we did make an error but management did step in and you were apparently satisfied when you left. Your party came into the showroom and was divided between being outside and inside. When the original salesperson went out to greet you he was asked about specific models in the inventory. While our salespeople have extensive product and inventory knowledge, they are not fully versed in all aspects of the supply of every used vehicle as others are arriving daily. While in the course of reviewing different cars which fit your specific criteria, the salesperson excused himself to go back in and locate the vehicles to be viewed. As this took place, you came in and was angered by being left in the heat while the salesperson was in the cool showroom. When the customer came in and spoke to Dan Ross our sales manager and the other manager Todd, you accused us of being unknowledgeable without asking a single question. It was Dan’s position to let you vent although he was not going to be insulted and maligned without cause. The salesperson meant no disrespect and was surprised at your reaction. You then sat with Dan in his office and discussed your experience while he apologized for your expectations not being met and exceeded. After sitting with you he set you up with another salesperson, who was made aware of what was going on. After two hours you the left showroom in what appeared to be a positive mood. I am again sorry that your expectations were not met and hope we can see your return to our dealership soon. Joel Sporn President

I am very sorry that you were not completely satisfied. Our goal is for you to have a fabulous buying experience. After reviewing the situation here is what I found. With regards to the interest rate, you were not approved for the factory subsidized rate of 2.9% (we have the decline on file); the approval was received from another bank at a higher rate. You were not approved at any other dealers for the Subaru rate either at the time this took place. Our deal was contingent upon financing through Grand Prix as the deal negotiated was predicated on this. We heavily discounted the vehicle to accommodate your payment. When our finance manager explained the financing requirement he did mention the payment we receive from the lender, allowing for savings to be passed on to you in the form of a lower price. We offered and disclosed all financing information and tax information. Now with regard to the sales tax issue, you are a NYS resident, employed in NYS as well; you have a FL address which you wanted to use for the purpose of registration. The goal behind this was to pay FL sales tax rather than NYS sales tax. It is not permissible under NYS law to collect tax from another jurisdiction if the customer is a NYS resident employed and earning income in NYS. When this was explained you were not pleased and felt as though we were not accommodating their request and it was our choice not the law to collect NYS sales tax. At Grand Prix, we only grow through word of mouth and we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. I am very sorry that we cam short in making you a completely satisfied customer. Joel Sporn Owner
