I have purchased 5 new jeeps since the age of 18-- and I have never fully trusted the process of buying a new car. I *hate* the hassle and the haggle--which can be more difficult than pulling teeth. That have never fully trusted the process of buying a new car. I *hate* the hassle and the haggle--which can be more difficult than pulling teeth. That being said-- I have never EVER had such an easy and more pleasant experience buying a car than I did from Cedric Montgomery and Glendale. We made this deal over the phone (I live 4 1/2 hours away), and there were some expected and unexpected challenges on my end during the process. I knew exactly what I was looking for and Cedric found what I was looking for at a great price. I fully expected there to be some "extra costs" when I finally made it to St. Louis to complete the deal. There wasn't. I cannot say enough good things about Cedric and the staff at Glendale, who went above and beyond what they needed to do-- even going so far as to offering to pay my late fee for titling my jeep, because it took me a few extra weeks to get into town to pick it up. (He even offered to have it delivered to me, while having someone pick up my trade-in if I couldn't make it.) The professionalism and friendliness of Cedric and the crew at Glendale completely shattered the stereotype of a typical car dealer. I can't say enough good things about this group, and while I hope to keep my jeep for a while-- I would definitely make another 4 1/2 hour drive to purchase my next vehicle at Glendale, and I would push any friend or family member to do the same. I am very pleased with my new patriot and the person who sold it to me. Mike Oppermann,Jr. I chose this dealership because of the excellent communication and internet sales of Mike. I shopped via Edmunds sold it to me. Mike Oppermann,Jr. I chose this dealership because of the excellent communication and internet sales of Mike. I shopped via Edmunds researching the types of vehicles that I was interested in and my choices were between Kia and Jeep. Everyone else (other dealers) I notified were not forthcoming with the info I needed to make my decision but Mike was there on the money and that was the important key to making me a jeep owner. Edmunds was the way I came to know about Glendale and the internet sales is how I came to know about Mike Jr. Keep up the good work and I will recommend anyone I know shopping to Glendale and Mike Jr. !!! Very friendly experience and the dealer had the vehicle I was looking for and without blinking an eye, they honored the USAA price that I had with me which was several hundred dollars under invoice price. Had a nice experience two years ago when we purchased our Town and Country van. So when we needed to replace our second car we absolutely wanted to deal with Glendale Chrysler and Steve Hemenway. Have you hu Town and Country van. So when we needed to replace our second car we absolutely wanted to deal with Glendale Chrysler and Steve Hemenway. Have you hugged your car salesman today? We gave a good on price because its a pricey car. But Steve worked with us to our satisfaction. More
Steve Hemenway was very knnowledgable about the Jeep and the buying process--would recommend him to anyone. I found the Jeep on the website and Steve's response to my questions were answered quickly. Fina the buying process--would recommend him to anyone. I found the Jeep on the website and Steve's response to my questions were answered quickly. Finance guy was just as knowledgable and also great to work with. I can't rate the quality of work because I've had no work done yet. As much as I dont like the ordeal of buying a new car in general, Steve made the experience probably as good as it can get. I'm hopeful that any repairs/warranty work will be a good experience as well. More
During my car buying process I was working with two Jeep dealerships: Glendale in St. Louis and Gladstone near Kansas City. After exchanging emails with Doug Wehlermann at Glendale and Jake Clark at Gladst dealerships: Glendale in St. Louis and Gladstone near Kansas City. After exchanging emails with Doug Wehlermann at Glendale and Jake Clark at Gladstone for about four days, we finally settled on an exact vehicle and deal with Glendale in St. Louis. After driving the 2+ hours to the dealership from Ft. Leonard Wood, I found out that the deal Doug and Eric made was bogus and that they wouldn't honor it. The vehicle we agreed on had 20" wheels on it...the vehicle Doug and Eric tried to sell me once we were there at the dealership had 18" wheels on it and they thought I wouldn't notice. After bringing it to their attention and explaining that the "miscommunication" was entirely on their end, they refused to honor the deal we had and put the 20" wheels back on so out of principle, attempting to renegotiate a deal wasn't happening. Eric then tried to tell me that the vehicles at Gladstone that I was comparing his at Glendale to, did not have 20" wheels - which oh by the way, they did because I bought one later that day. (Jake is awesome by the way - go give your business to Gladstone in KC) During our discussion about this "miscommunication" Doug first tried to tell me that I told him I didn't want the 20" wheels. When I reminded him what I actually told him, he then said that well I didn't say I wanted the 20" wheels. Keep in mind folks, the deal was for a specific stock number and the ONLY adjustments to the vehicle that we discussed was activating the nav system and installing a tow hitch. Bottom line, this dealership is dishonest and I'm shocked they're in business. I guess they figured if I drove all that way then I'd just fold OR more realistically, I wouldn't notice the tire swap. That's weak and insulting. I gave them an "OK" for friendliness because, yes they were adequately friendly. Unfortunately, being a liar and trying to trick customers trumps the whole friendliness thing. And no GM of Glendale, I have no reason to speak with you about my experience. If you would like to see the email conversations between Doug Wehlermann and I displaying his obvious dishonesty and evidently, his downright incompetence in basic correspondence, let me know and I would be glad to forward it to you.
