The communication with me was few and far between. I had to call them every time to find out what happened to my vehicle. Usually no one on the phone even knew I had dropped it off, didn't know it's status, to call them every time to find out what happened to my vehicle. Usually no one on the phone even knew I had dropped it off, didn't know it's status, couldn't find out, couldn't find the keys, said they would call me back but never did, repeatedly, etc, etc. They repeatedly didn't do the work they said they would do on the contract and I had to pick my vehicle up without the work done. Every time was by appointment on THEIR schedule, followed by days of them dropping the ball in every way they possibly could. The amount of gel in the hair of every male salesperson there should tell you what the atmosphere is like. Everything is promises to get you to buy, everything they promise is going to be easy and quick... until it comes time for them to do the smallest little thing they said they'd do, then everything is a big problem, takes forever, or can't be done. They use childish social manipulation to try to shrug off responsibility. The person who would know or is responsible for whatever they're dropping the ball on, is never who you're talking to and never working the day you call. Not once. Even when calling on consecutive days. Sales always says it's the service shop and the service shop always says it's sales who must have not given them the keys, must have not told them to start doing the work, must have not told them the work wasn't going to get done on time, must have not told them the work would have to be done by an external vendor, must have not told them whether the vehicle was taken off-site, must have not... whatever. No one talks to anyone. Departments don't communicate. They don't communicate with you. You drop your vehicle off into a black hole of "don't know" and "not my job". Worst decision I've made in a long time going to Girard Toyota. After this disaster jamboree, I found out a while back they had to run ads apologizing to customers at large and saying they're under new management. It's been two weeks since the manager was going to handle my case personally because it was so messed up, and he's promised to call me back twice, and has called me back ZERO times, ZERO contact, despite my main complaint being lack of contact. It's been well over a week and I'm still waiting to hear from him. If this is the new and improved Girard, what were they doing before, beating customers with baseball bats? Manager Rice, it's time to call your customers back. More
I needed an alternator for my 2001 Lexus LS430. Lexus dealers a long way-called and went to Girard. Excellent reception had 60,000 service performed as well. It is good to know that I can service the vehicle without traveling 50 miles--East Haven,East Hartford and West Warrick, RI. Too bad the economics of S.E.CT cannot support a Lexus Dealer. Rosemarie and Bart were very helpful--ordered and received the alternator by next day air. I had the car back, fully serviced by noon the next day. You can be sure I will return for service at Girard. More
I came into the dealership with a minor problem on my 2010 sion xb. The usb and aux was loose. They filled out my information checked the car for me and told me exactly what was wrong with it. They did the examintion fast and were very friendly. They told me the part that was messed up needed to be odered and they would call me when in came in. They called me the monday after and made me an appointment that day. took them 30 minutes to fix it. And i was in and out in a flash! Great service! I also had a child with me so the play room was AMAZING! I had an overall great experience. More

When it got down to negotiations, Mark was very good as well, and I very much enjoyed getting to know him. There are a lot of dealerships that sell Toyota products, but I think there are very few that really make you feel like you are becoming "part of the family," so to speak. I will be back! More
This is the third time I have had an incident at Girard Toyota where they recommended work that probably was not needed. The first came after my 30K check-up (for about $350) at another dealership. I went to Girard for my 35K oil change and they said that the air filter had never been changed and left the other Toyota dealership service since thought they had not done the changes they said at 30K. However, since then, I think it is the practice of Girard to lie about things to bet business. At 60K, I took my Toyota to another dealership for a full 60 K servicing and brake job (almost $1400). At 64K, I went to Girard for an oil change and they said I needed about $300 in servicing for items including changing brake fluid which they said was filthy. I just had a complete brake job! I took Toyota immediately back to the previous Toyota dealer and showed them the recommendation and they showed me the brake fluid was clean and that the items that Girard recommended were not necessary. On one other occasion, my check service light went on in the vehicle. First I paid over $100 at Girard for a diagnosis and then 25$ for a gas cap that was bad. Then they tried to charge me an additional 100$ for a recalibration. So for a bad gas cap, I am supposed to pay $225? This is outrageous! Why have computers on a car if they can't reduce costs? I question whether I will ever buy another Toyota even though I really like the car. More
I was very happy with my over all experience. All the staff I spoke with was friendly and helpful.
