Due to personal circumstances, getting a car was not in my plans but suddenly became a top priority. Fortunately I was able to work with Ryan Truitt and my experience was beyond expectations. Ryan is a gr my plans but suddenly became a top priority. Fortunately I was able to work with Ryan Truitt and my experience was beyond expectations. Ryan is a great salesperson, he is knowledgeable about the products, but most importantly, he listened to my needs and wants and I walked out with a wonderful car. More

Over several visits to the dealership and changing priorities betweenmy wife and I as we considered multiple models and brands, Dan was extremely helpful. Never pushy, he would plainly lay out the tr priorities betweenmy wife and I as we considered multiple models and brands, Dan was extremely helpful. Never pushy, he would plainly lay out the tradeoffs among each VW vehicle without unnecessarily bashing the competition. The experience really stood in stark contrast to what my wife and I expected. Overall, I really enjoyed buying in a low pressure, informative environment and would gladly purchase from them again. More
My mother had purchased from Garnet and from Jordan in the past, and had a great experience, so I made it a point to return when my fiance and I needed a car. We got a quote from a dealer in NYC where we the past, and had a great experience, so I made it a point to return when my fiance and I needed a car. We got a quote from a dealer in NYC where we live, and I called Jordan to see if he could beat it, which he did. The car buying experience with Garnet and Jordan was incredibly simple and the whole team worked with us to ensure the credit approval process and registration in New Jersey went as smoothly as possible. I'd send anyone looking for a new car to Garnet and to Jordan. More
Stopped in unannounced AFTER they had closed (8:53 pm to be exact) and Andy Scheffler the finance manager happened to be there and he graciously showed the car we'd seen on the internet - let us drive it ar be exact) and Andy Scheffler the finance manager happened to be there and he graciously showed the car we'd seen on the internet - let us drive it around the parking lot and poke, prod and kick the tires etc. No high pressure tactics just resonable discussion and when we decided to purchase the car he introduced us to Ryan Truitt who was extremely helpful (and gracious) showing the features of the vehicle and locating all the bits and pieces ie: owner's manual, maintainance records and the carfax report. We were treated very courteously by everyone we encountered there (including the receptionist)even though for a second time we kept them after hours (had to pick up the car in the evening and we live 2 hours away. I discovered Garnet VW from a Jetta Sportwagen posting on auto trader.com I had never before purchased a car sight unseen and decided to take the plunge. As a Canadian, this meant taking a flight from Buf auto trader.com I had never before purchased a car sight unseen and decided to take the plunge. As a Canadian, this meant taking a flight from Buffalo NY to Philadelphia and ultimately driving back 10 hours. There was a slight glitch to the sale in that we committed with a deposit but the dealer had not actually received clear title from the State. Luckily my Salesman was Daniel Stangl whose communication was excellent not to mention hospitality. Daniel picked us up from the Philly airport and took us straight to our favorite restaurant before arriving at the dealership. When Daniel finally presented the actual car, it was exactly as presented over the phone. We did discover a small cut in the upholstery but luckily it was on the back seat pocket. Also, when we actually test drove the car, I inquired about the alignment which appeared to be slightly off. Apparently the service dep't had done an alignment. On the way home we took it to Firestone and confirmed it was not aligned. Based on this lack of alignment issue, I gave only 3 stars to Quality of Work in my review. I also asked Daniel about the missing spare key fob. Since the dealer was not able to retrieve it from the original owner, he ordered and sent us a brand new one! Garnet VW is a really nice.new concept, modern, friendly, dealership located in a beautiful area. Even the girl in the business office was great (nice). All the paperwork was ready, organized and well prepared. I never really thought about it until this last paragraph but this was probably the nicest car buying experience in my lifetime! Daniel even sent a cute VW hat for my girlfriend along with my keys! So, thank you Garnet. THANK YOU DANIEL. Anyone thinking of buying from Garnet VW, call DANIEL STANGL--- He's the man! More
I have gone to other dealerships and they appeared to not be interested in telling me reasons I should buy the car and the features that I would like. At Garnet VW, I went for a test drive with the salesman be interested in telling me reasons I should buy the car and the features that I would like. At Garnet VW, I went for a test drive with the salesman and through the whole ride he told me about the great things VW has to offer and why I would be happy with the car. If I was unsure at all about the kind of car I wanted to get this definitely sealed the deal for me. Jeff, was so knowledgeable and could answer everyone of my questions. I already recommended everyone that I know interested in buying a new car to go to that dealership. Also, the showroom was very nice and it had a very friendly atmosphere full of VW pride. that was exactly what I would want to see walking into any dealership. More

The sales people at Garnet Volkswagen will tell you anything to sell a car. An internet sales representative from Garnet informed me that a Passat TDI SEL would get 48 mpg. The federal government estim anything to sell a car. An internet sales representative from Garnet informed me that a Passat TDI SEL would get 48 mpg. The federal government estimates that under real world driving conditions, the car maxes out at about 40 mpg on the highway. When I complained about what was either a negligent misstatement of fact or an outright lie, a sales manager accused me of insulting her sales people. Then she justified the deceit by suggesting that some Passat TDI customers actually achieved 25 percent better mileage (48 mpg) than the Energy Department claimed. After I complained to VW corporate, the manager backpedaled furiously on the bogus gas mileage claim. Bottom Line: Garnet Volkswagen is a sleazy, deceitful grind shop. Avoid it like the plague. ----------------------------- Update: I posted that review on 1/10/2012. One day later, the internet sales manager from Garnet Volkswagen contacted me and insisted they're not a sleazy, deceitful grind shop. He maintains that the Passat TDI SEL will get 47 mpg on the highway and that numerous customers on the internet have affirmed they're getting that kind of fuel economy. That's an interesting assertion for at least a few reasons: First, the 2012 Passat TDI is a new car, and it's just starting to roll into dealerships. It's scarce on most lots; in fact, the Garnet internet sales manager informs me he doesn't have any in stock. So if there aren't that many cars available , how can all of these mysterious people on the internet (for the record, I can't find any) even obtain the car, much less achieve gas mileage that exceeds the Energy Department's upper estimate for real-life driving conditions by 25 percent? Second, diesel engines take a while to break in. Some don't achieve maximum gas mileage until after the odometer reads 40,000 to 100,000. So it stands to reason that few people have owned the car long enough to break in the engine and achieve maximum highway fuel economy -- which would be about 40 mpg. As a put-up-or-shut-up gesture, I offered to test any Passat TDI on the Garnet lot. I would drive it for 10 miles at 65 mph on a highway of the internet sales manager's choosing (with a sales rep in the car to keep me honest). As part of the deal, I offered to remove this post and issue an apology to Garnet if the tested Passat hit 43 mpg (4 mpg less than Garnet is claiming). If it didn't, the internet sales manager would agree to apologize publicly -- on the Garnet Volkswagen website -- for deceiving customers about fuel economy. He declined, saying he had no Passat TDIs on his lot. He did not respond to an offer to let me test the car as soon as one or more comes in. I think it's a safe bet, however, that he wouldn't be taking me up on my offer even if his dealership were lousy with Passat TDIs. Simply put, the Passat TDI -- although it boasts impressive fuel economy -- cannot hit Garnet's ridiculously inflated highway numbers in real-life driving conditions. Not now. Not ever. And while I can't read minds, I'm pretty confident that the Garnet Volkswagen Internet sales manager knows as much. If you value honest car sales practices, avoid Garnet Volkswagen. The Passat TDI is a great car, and people discriminating enough to buy one deserve more respect than the sales pirates at Garnet are willing to spare. More
