Usually have a good experience but didn't this time. My service rep was good and she kept me informed and was very professional. My issue was with the tech who looked at my F 150. I asked him to look at my oil pump and oil pressure switch/sending unit because at times, the low pressure light was coming on at idle when I am stopped at a light or stop sign. Once I accelerate, the light went off, and the oil pressure returned to normal. Other than that, the vehicle runs great. Yes, it has high miles, 344000, and yes, the check engine light is on for a bad sensor. But, the vehicle runs at normal temp, accelerates fine, does not lose power, burn oil, etc. The service rep came back and relayed that the tech identified low oil pressure at a certain rpm, I knew that already, and I now need a new engine?? I asked and was told that he did not look at the pressure sending switch or the oil pump or any of the other myriad of interim steps to take when a vehicle has low oil pressure ONLY WHEN NOT STEPPING ON THE GAS, and even then, not all of the time. I don't even think he looked to see if the oil filter or lines were clogged. Pretty disappointing but I told her to work up the new engine estimate even though this is not what I need, and I have no intention of replacing the engine at this juncture. I also got charged $169 for an hour of the tech's time even though I doubt he spent an hour looking at my truck. As I said, pretty disappointing. I am in the process of getting a second opinion on my truck. More
