Tried to add $895 into my lease buyout in the finance room. Essentially the buyout on my Sonata was $13k. They charged me a $359 "paperwork fee" and wanted to charge an additional "transaction fee". This "transaction fee" was originally quoted at $1,000. "It's normally $1,500 but we'll do it for $1,000". Now, let's be clear, at $1,359 in total fees I'd be paying a 10.3% fee to buy out my lease which is insane. I was able to talk the "transaction fee" down to $500, to bring my fee total to $859.00 (a 6.7% fee) before walking into the finance guy to do the paperwork. There I found an $895 "used car prep fee" that the finance guy, who was quick on his feet, quickly called a "bank fee". He had to drop that BS line because I was buying out a lease on the car I drove into the dealership two hours earlier. There was NO prep necessary. So, at that point I ran under the assumption that, that was the fee I'd already talked down to $500, so I told him that. He left the room and came back in 3min and the fee was down at $500. Still highway robbery, but whatever. Then as I'm signing things I notice that the starting buy out price of my car has been increased by $500. So, I ask him how that went up $500 from my lease agreement. He leaves the office and the head of sales comes in an tries to explain that, "that is the $500 "transaction fee" that we talked about earlier". I then pointed out the $500 "used car prep fee" and said, "this is your $500 here". The salesman leaves for three minutes and comes back in apologizing that he's new there and that their system works different than his last dealership. I don't believe a word of it, but I realized at that moment that the finance guy is lying to my face as he tries to cover the tracks of the sales group by calling the "used car prep fee" a "bank fee" on the fly. AND the salesman who I've been dealing with for two hours is boldly lying to my face as he starts deducting all the hidden fees that they attempted to hide in the transaction. It's lunacy. I have two grown me trying to rob me blind and lying to my face. I was disgusted. It was all I could do to recheck the final numbers, sign it all and get the heck out of there with my hand on my wallet. A total den of thieves. The fact that consumers have to interact with these sleazy dealers to buy a particular car is pathetic. And, it's precisely why the dealership model will be gone in ten years. Tesla will lay the ground work and then every other make will happily follow and get rid of these corrupt dealers who put such a horrible face on their companies. I mean if I want an Iphone I can deal with Apple directly, but if I want a Hyundai I have to deal with some grease ball privately owned dealership. If I'm Hyundai the LAST thing I want is a grease ball between my and my customer. It's a horrible system. More

I still feel taken with only 28,000 and needing brakes and a engine filter that was not shown to me. Which I asked to see. I felt pressured. Should have gotten a second opinion. Don't beleive what they tell you. Go to your mechanic and get a second opinion. Called John Hess 2or 3 times. No response. He called me and told me to call him. Now there is no response. Don't go. Very disappointing that after a successful business deal, a dealership wouldn't be too interested in returning business. I should think all sales and assistance in vehicles purchased in house would receive better service than Flemington has provided. Both a coworker and I have had bad experiences inside this dealership. I'd take my business someplace else. In a time of economic chaos, local isn't always better. More
