My husband and I are new to the area, and we were looking to trade in our Jeep, which had a high monthly payment from a previous loan. After searching online, we received a follow-up call from Jonathan at Fr to trade in our Jeep, which had a high monthly payment from a previous loan. After searching online, we received a follow-up call from Jonathan at Fred Anderson Chevrolet. Jonathan was respectful and patient, and we set up an appointment to discuss trade-in options. At the dealership, we explained our financial situation and interest in a larger SUV, even if it meant a bit more cost. Jonathan worked diligently to find options within our budget, initially offering a no-money-down trade. He showed us two vehicles, including a larger SUV with features we liked, and we felt positive about moving forward. However, after Jonathan went to finalize the details, a manager came in, and the entire tone shifted. Upon introducing himself, the manager made unnecessary comments about race, pointing to his own skin color and saying he was “here to help people like us” because “we’re the same.” This was not what we came in for; we were there as customers looking for a fair deal, not seeking favors or preferential treatment based on race. We felt that this comment was unprofessional and, frankly, offensive.To make matters worse, the conversation shifted from a no-money-down deal to now needing a substantial down payment, even though we had previously discussed our finances and agreed upon the terms with Jonathan. When Jonathan returned, he apologized, explaining the manager’s sudden requirement for $5,000 down. If we had that amount on hand, we wouldn’t have needed this arrangement in the first place. My husband and I were both upset and disappointed by the manager’s comments and how the situation was handled. The experience brought back memories of a similar incident over 25 years ago, where a Chevrolet dealership treated me unfairly due to my race. At the time, a white friend and I applied for cars, and despite her significant debt, she was approved while I was denied. Unfortunately, this encounter reminded me of that experience and was equally hurtful.Jonathan, however, remained professional and respectful throughout the process. Despite everything, we appreciated his honesty, and we would recommend him to anyone. I hope this review brings attention to this matter. I own a 2014 Honda Pilot. I’ve always taken it to Dock Brooks for service since I’ve owned it and they do an exceptional job with customer service and service on the vehicle, I’ve always taken it to Dock Brooks for service since I’ve owned it and they do an exceptional job with customer service and service on the vehicle, also provide a completely wash. I also own a 2016 Silverado and have taken it to Bradshaw/Fred Anderson for service since I’ve owned it. It seems that Dick Brooks is cheaper on a service plus they offer a completely wash. Spend $3100 they had the car for 4 weeks when I got the car back still had check engine light on and they kill the battery.
