Good morning, Yesterday my wife and I came to 5 Star to buy a vehicle as her lease is expiring. The experience was pleasant until the very end. Sales worked with us to get a monthly payment on a new leas buy a vehicle as her lease is expiring. The experience was pleasant until the very end. Sales worked with us to get a monthly payment on a new lease as low as possible. (I’m attaching a picture of the offer sheet we signed) John told us 466/month. However, on the offer sheet (in writing) he wrote down 366/month. Obviously we signed it quickly. Wasn’t our fault. We were excited about the deal. Fast forward to financing and my wife gets told 466/month. That is what we signed after all. They laughed at her. Pen in hand they laughed and said we can’t do that, “I wrote 366 but said 466” my wife horribly embarrassed made me stop pressing the issue and out of embarrassment signed. “Sorry to get your hopes up, glad I caught my mistake” was the closest thing to an apology we got. She paid the part of the down payment and the remainder owed was written down on the paperwork, they made sure that number was right. Driving home, my wife was in tears feeling taken advantage of and hating herself. If we had made a “mistake” i don’t think we would have been able to laugh it off. I am still furious about the way it was handled. My wife was embarrassed to the point she just wanted to sign and get out. That is how the experience made her feel. If I could have convinced her to leave then and there I would have but I didn’t want to embarrass her more. She is picking up the car on Monday. PERSONALLY, I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP. A great experience was ruined when the finance guy and sales guy laughed in my wife’s face about their mistake. As I write I am still sick to my stomach about the way she was treated. She felt “strong-armed” because she was a woman. The number I signed at was in writing and it was laughed at. Again, I’m attaching the picture we took of the offer sheet. I have little more to say now without getting more irate. Once it is written in ink and signed it’s binding in my opinion. I understand people make mistakes, but laughing them off is wrong. I feel our mistake was trusting the dealership that was recommended to us. More
