We bought a 2021 Honda accord 2 weeks ago and noticed the brakes making a loud squeaking noise when reversing after we took the car home. Brought he car in to the dealer on Friday around 12pm and they said l brakes making a loud squeaking noise when reversing after we took the car home. Brought he car in to the dealer on Friday around 12pm and they said latest we’d have our car back is 3pm. 3pm comes and nothing, we inquired and he said oh it’s barely being brought back. We needed to reschedule for the next day since we had an appointment across town. We schedule for sat at 10:30am. We drop the car off at 9:30am and the first guy told us the squeaking is normal when it’s cold. Unacceptable!!! We get a new service manager Jaime, he was great told us he’d call when he has details. Calls at 1pm and tells us they couldn’t find anything wrong but could replicate the noise but it was normal. Again, unacceptable since we just got the car 2 weeks ago and the noise was LOUD when reversing. That’s not normal! We asked them to check the brake pads, rotors etc to see if it was maybe put in incorrectly or warped. He agreed to it. We get to the dealership around 2pm to follow up, still nothing wrong with the car but verified the brake pads are Honda stamped and certified. We asked to have the brake pads replaced as this was not ok, we spent a lot of money on this car and it’s not up to standard. That noise is excessive and absolutely not normal. We talk to the sales manager Alex Paz who was an absolute jerk and asked us what we wanted him to do and that there was nothing he can do for us. We explained that we just got the car 2 weeks ago how we’re pretty sure it’s the brake pads and that we would like something done as we just spent a lot of money (to us) on this car. I even asked to test drive the other Honda Accord sports that was on the lot to show this isn’t common or normal as I’ve had several Hondas and Toyotas. He basically told us we should have inspected the car prior to purchasing, that he couldn’t do anything and we bought the car as is. He eluded to the fact that we were wasting his time by complaining due to them supposedly not being able to replicate the noise and that the brakes were after market parts and that we need to take the car as is. We then asked who is lying because service just told us that they were able to replicate the sound and that the brakes on the vehicle were certified Honda parts and they even called Honda to verify. Alex’s tone quickly changed once we called him out on that and he went back to service and to confirm we were correct. He then said theg would replace our brake pads for free but it would be costing the dealership over $200 and he didn’t feel like wasting money on our car when that won’t fix the problem. The brake pads were changed and as we expected the loud squeak/grinding noise is no longer there. Alex’s professionalism was far from the standards we expect of Toyota. The fact that he talked to us like we were stupid, had no idea what we’re talking about is despicable and unacceptable! There was no apology, no sense of care and no respect for customers just wanting a car to be in the condition they expect. We spent most of our weekend at the dealership advocating for our vehicle to be fixed. This shouldn’t have ever happened and I am extremely disappointed that this is the level of service Toyota offered us after being a customer since 06’. More

Findlay Toyota Service Dept has serviced my Toyota’s since 1996. They are just as good as they were back then as they are now.
