I went in last night about an hour before they closed to test drive a Jeep. I asked the young man helping me to take my vehicle to give me an estimate. When I got back from the test ride, I asked him how test drive a Jeep. I asked the young man helping me to take my vehicle to give me an estimate. When I got back from the test ride, I asked him how much my vehicle was estimated at. He said the manager would not do an estimate on my vehicle unless I was going to purchase a vehicle that day. I was dumbfounded by this and a tad taken back. How was I supposed to even consider buying a vehicle if I didn’t know what they would give me for my trade in? I do want to point out that I have a Jeep Wrangler that is in good condition and is paid off. I feel they stereotyped me as someone who couldn’t afford one of their vehicles based on my appearance. I wasn’t dressed to impress like the usual Northshore clientele. This dealership lost a sale and I will Never patronize their business again. More

Scammers and fraudulent dealership. I would not recommend buying a car here or using their service center. Tried to make us do insurance fraud. Scammers and fraudulent dealership. I have had the worst experience in the past few months with the service department. I had brought in my jeep in December with engine light on and the service advisor Sean proceeded to tell me that the fix was to replace all spark plugs and remove after market catch can and that it would fix the problem. Then I get a call back after agreeing to pay for that since the warranty wouldn't cover it saying that I also needed a O2 Sensor replaced and once again I agreed to have it done. Sean assured me this would fix the problem so I was happy with that even though it was going to cost me $1300 and the jeep is a 2018 JLU with 39,000 miles which it shouldn't need any of them replaced but I was like I need it fixed so I bit the bullet. Now I pick it up and everything seems fine and I was happy. But 250 miles later the same check engine light was on and now the jeep barely stays running. I had to have it towed in to service once again. This time I get a call from Sean saying I need to call my insurance company and say I drove through deep water (mind you I live in chicago its February and everything is snow covered and iced). So I ask him why would I call the insurance company to file a false claim when I haven't been anywhere nor has there been any deep water since everything is frozen. He proceeded to tell me well I don't know where you have been (250miles really). I asked to then speak to someone higher up. So he connected me with Colleen. She still proceeded to tell me to file a insurance claim and they could then take care of it. I proceed to tell her I dont want to file a false claim when I didn't drive through water. I then had to contact FCA corporate to get a case started and now the jeeps been in the service center for 2 weeks at this time. FCA then proceeded to tell them to tare apart some of the engine and see if water was the cause so the dealer called me telling me that there would be charge for diagnosing the jeep if they found water so I agreed to pay if they found the cause. Well colleen called me back and said they were going to replace under powertrain warranty since there was no evidence of water in the engine. Then proceeds to tell me there's going to be a charge for $660 because my jeep is lifted 2.5in and I was like why. She said thats what we charge when its more complicated to fix something because of a lift. I wasn't very happy with that charge since most jeep wranglers are lifted sometimes from the factory and I didn't have anything over the jeep factory lift of 2.5 so why would I have to pay extra for something that doesn't make the engine harder to replace. I then had to agree to the charge because they wouldn't start the work with out me doing so. I have now submitted all my receipts to FCA Corp. and am seeking reimbursement and the dealer is telling FCA the reason for the charge of $660 was because of a oil catch can that I had added aftermarket was in the way. The catch can was removed by the dealer on the first visit because they claimed it was the cause of the spark plug failure and O2 sensor. I'm not sure how many others have had issues with Fields Jeep but I can definitely tell you the must scam so many others without them even thinking twice because most people dont know what to do when in the dealers hands. I will never buy another vehicle from Fields Jeep nor will I use them for service. FCA needs to investigate this place for fraud and scams.Scammers and fraudulent dealership. Since I know Ken Kowal will try to reply and make everything sound like we were happy when we left that's completely a lie. We were never happy with the full out come only thing we were happy with was the decision to move forward and get our jeep out of this horrible dealer as soon as possible. We will never come back to fields and we will recommend that anyone we know shop elsewhere. More
After using this dealer for a couple repairs, every single time they worked on my Jeep I received it back damaged in some way shape and or form. Its a 19 year old Jeep where parts are scarce, but that single time they worked on my Jeep I received it back damaged in some way shape and or form. Its a 19 year old Jeep where parts are scarce, but that didn't stop them from abusing it. After one of their repairs one of their service staff raced my Jeep over 75+ MPH down a side street to test it. Not only could the person have gotten hurt, but my vehicle could have been destroyed. Every repair that they did and broke parts on the Jeep they had the nerve to tell me that I broke the part, and brought them the Jeep like that. How ignorant! The one mechanic who was supposed to be one of their top technicians, replaced a part that didn't need to be replaced and then didn't even bolt down a structural mount correctly. But he worked on Jeeps for over 20+ years, so he must know what he is doing? After speaking to the Service Advisors, it took more effort on my end to get them to fix what they damaged! And they still couldn't get it right, so I have to fix it myself. I went as far as trying to contact the general manager Ken Kowl, but little did I know that he avoids email and phone calls, because it took me over a two months to reach him. He told me that he was baffled I waited 6 months to address this, but HE DOESN'T RESPOND! Finally when I did get to speak to him, he told me he would look into this and get back to me the next business day or two, but never did. But then their Shop floor-man yelled at the service advisor in front of me about how they aren't going to take my car back to fix, and that it should have been fixed the first time. To this day I am still fixing my Jeep as much as I can, and the dealer took thousands from me across my couple of visits. I definitely don't recommend anyone that cares about their cars going here! Not only will you get charged for parts you don't need replaced, but they will abuse your car. A perfect example of a dealership that obviously doesn’t care about customer satisfaction. More
Dishonest and Disloyal. We purchased 2 dodge minivans from them. The salesman told us to put E85 fuel in our gas tanks. The gas caps on both Vans indicate to put E85 in the tank. Both Vans had the "Ch from them. The salesman told us to put E85 fuel in our gas tanks. The gas caps on both Vans indicate to put E85 in the tank. Both Vans had the "Check Engine Light" come on. We were told that it was because gasoline was contaminated with E85! I offered a compromise to pay for the cost of having one van fixed and they pay for the other even though they were the ones who told us to use E85. They patronized and dismissed my claim and only offered a 15% discount for one of the Van's. More

Horrible Service Department I decided to have a few things done at the dealership while my Wrangler had an airbag recall. I went out of my way to go to the burbs because the Jeep I decided to have a few things done at the dealership while my Wrangler had an airbag recall. I went out of my way to go to the burbs because the Jeep dealership next to my house is notoriously horrible. I didn't mind paying their higher prices because I figured I would get great union mechanics that really know Jeeps. 1. They broke my hood lock and didn't even say anything. I had to point it out, and they acted surprised claiming their 30-year veteran mechanic worked on my Jeep (yeah right, in 30-years they haven't figured out how a hood lock works). 2. It starts to make more sense after realizing they didn't rotate my tires as they confirmed they would. I guess their 30-year veteran mechanic doesn't know how wheel bolt locks work either. 3. They left pieces of my dash laying in the front of my car from the air bag replacement and also broke off one of the clips that holds in the dash (left in my cup holder). Now my dash doesn't stay put. 4. They prove to do sloppy work with the differential cover seal, oozing out all over. Even the service manager said it looked odd. I can guarantee that particles are also oozed out on the interior and running through my car's system. 5. More proof that their mechanics are afraid to get their hands dirty: when I asked them to do an intensive gasket replacement, they told me it would be very expensive, and not recommended at this time. Also mentioning that I could trade it in for a younger Jeep... Overall dissatisfied with this place as well as the response to my issues. I had them mail me the replacement hood lock because I don't trust them to touch my Jeep. I will avoid them in the future and will be sure to tell all my fellow Chicagoland Jeepers. Also, very poor communication. I had people calling and texting me courtesy messages while they had no idea there were issues I was working on with them. More

I went to Fields and was amazed at their customer service. The service manager Kenny was familiar with the issue I was having with my vehicle and was able to assist me to resolve it quickly. My service advisor, Peter, was friendly and knowledgeable. The entire experience made me feel welcome and they were happy to assist me . I will recommend this dealer to anyone who will listen and they have won me over as a customer for future needs. More
