I needed to replace a recently totaled vehicle, let's say I wasn't really in a shopping mood.I had been looking on line and I found a truck I thought would be exactly what I had in mind. I drove out Hartford on a snowy Valentine's Day, just to take a look. Rich was wonderful, he put me at ease right away. We went for a test drive, he answered all my questions. When I asked how long I'd have to wait to take it home, should I decide to buy, he said I could take it that night. Well let me tell you, that sold me right there. I had been driving a rental for a week, and I really wanted to be done with that. This was my first big purchase since losing my husband, and these two gentleman made me feel so comfortable and so at ease, I can't thank them enough. I am very pleased with my visit and purchase from Ewald's Hartford. When I entered the lot and was looking around, I wasn't swamped by salespersons. I really appreciate this. At other lots, I have had them coming out of the woodwork. With this, I observed a salesperson in the lot when I had a question regarding a couple of vehicles, the salesperson was able to pickup on it and then came over. Jason was very polite and knowledgable. Jason sought what in a vehicle I was seeking. Jason showed me several options of vehicles in the same class and style without any attempt to move me from the class I was originally seeking. (I came to the lot looking for and Escape or Explorer type vehicle, had only one Escape on the lot but it was a higher end one with a moonroof and leather seating that I'm not interested in, so he showed me the various Explorers). Jason did let me know that Ewald has many lots and that an Escape could be bought to Hartford if I had requested. Working through the process was comfortable and smooth. There was again, no pressure or undue influence. Jason explained the whole process went well. Financing is always where anxiety tends to build. Brian was very easy to work with. Brian is very personable, efficient and knowledgable. I was very relaxed working with both Brian and Jason. After purchasing my 2006 Explorer, I had a couple of questions. The service manager (I appologize that I have forgotten his name), was very informative and attentive to my concerns. He was also able to enlighten me that I was correct, there was no dipstick for the transmission. But, instead of it missing in error, Ford has a sealed system instead. (one less thing for me to check). I would also like to complement the overall appeal of Hartford Ford. No matter what time I am in the area, I can access your lot and look at the vehicles. Many lots are closing them off after hours. They layout is user friendly. The only negative is that on your website, in the upper right corner where you have your phone numbers listed, perhaps a different color should be used. Blue on blue isn't working well. Keep up the excellent work. More

Joe was excellent in listening to what we wanted and being proactive in meeting our needs without presenting pressure. That was backed by Jay whom provided additional flexibility and options. He really mapped out all the options to purchasing a new vehicle. A superb team atmosphere in helping the customer get to their desired end result. Brian was great to work with in getting us through the process quickly. We wanted to not just buy a car but build a relationship and we found this at Ewald. We look forward to future purchases with this outstanding team! More
My salesman Joe was very courteous and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The price was good and the entire process was a good experience from finding my truck to financing to taking delivery exactly what I was looking for. They really didn't show me a purchase contract that showed me how much I was really paying for the truck. The vehicle I went to test drive was being serviced, but Rich didn't pressure me into buying any vehicle. He was willing to let my wife and I drive any vehicle to compare the ride. I actually stopped in for service on my 2011 Ford, and spotted a 2012 Ford that I liked. I worked with Joseph Schellinger on getting the new car as close to my current payments as possible. Both Jay and Cole were great. Walked in they brought me several trucks to look at while they appraised my truck and we made a deal within an hour. Tim promised a set price over the phone, and an additional online discount. Once I arrived, I was told the quoted price still was good, as well as the discount and that I could also have a free re additional online discount. Once the car was serviced, all of this changed. When I was called that the car was done the price was inflated $60 over promised, and I was told I couldn't get the discount because I took the free rental. We argued at length, and then we compromised to a figure still well above what I'd been promised and he immediately hung up the phone on me before I could ask another question of him. Upon arriving to pick up my car, the work order had a price higher than what we had agreed upon the 2nd time. I ended up having to pay the extra amount since I could not afford to miss work to stay longer and demand the price we had agreed upon. I'm 50 years old, and it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in having any of my vehicles repaired. More
