Failure in patronizing my town. Made a deal a car we really wanted Nissan Pathfinder SL with Mr.Mario Guzman he was fair enough, the manager agreed to the price because I am a local Made a deal a car we really wanted Nissan Pathfinder SL with Mr.Mario Guzman he was fair enough, the manager agreed to the price because I am a local of Bergenfield. Day to pick up the car after a week to make the story short there was a deceptive negotiation. When I did not agree to take the financing they offered because they forced me to buy extended warranty and Gap, finance manager said the price will change and he said I signed the contract about the deal. Type written contract was on the table already still the finance manager went to get another handwritten with lots of add on deals from the sides of the contract which are all handwritten. I noticed those two contract does not have my signature. Paul foster the manager said he will charge 500$ for finding the car., when I told him we scout prices from other dealers almost all are the same. I choose to come here to patronize Bergenfield .Paul Foster the manager tear the contract apart and said "GET OUT OF HERE". Who will not be upset with this kind of deal even after talking to the Finance manager one car salesman from other cubicle was telling me literally to shut up, I answered back don't tell me to shut up costumer is always right,he said I will throw you out from here....can you imagine two Elite Nissan personnel doing that to you..I insisted to stay to get my downpayment..Somebody talked to me what can he do to make me happy still I did not take the advantage I could have asked to lower the price...I left crying with my anger..I reported them to NIssan USA consumer affairs nothing has been done.still I did not get my downpayment until now. Mario Guzman has been calling me to get the car and price will be the same per manager...Who would come back to that kind of car dealer. Old management two years ago when we bought a car for our son it was a perfect experience. More
how do you sleep? my husband and I went in on a Saturday night looking to purchase a new truck or refinance our current Nissan. we had originally started out when they my husband and I went in on a Saturday night looking to purchase a new truck or refinance our current Nissan. we had originally started out when they were Bergenfield Suzuki and bought a car there, then were directed to Nissan of hawthorne to purchase our pathfinder, ( Bergenfield didn't have any in). our buying experience was ok but service was horrible, I was told by "dragon" ( yes that's his name), not to go back because he did not like negotiating with a women. so Elite Nissan I went. we were greeted nicly helped promptly and were having a good experience. we saw a brand new 2013 pathfinder, mind you its already 8/30/14, and the 2015's were out, and were able to negotiate out a good fair price. Understanding it was already 6pm on a Saturday night we waited until Monday, ( labor day) to hear back from the banks. we left a $500 deposit and told we would hear in the early morning hours on Monday, it was not until 2pm when we heard back and were told that we needed more money down, but "paul" the finance manager said he didn't know how much of a loan we were getting, what the interest rate would be or even what the monthly payments were. i asked how he isn't knowing any of that information when they are asking him for a reason. he then got very arrogant and stated " i know who you guys are, you want to pay nothing and have something great" and then proceeded to tell me that my trade in was worth only $13000, when in reality and it was compared at other dealers for completive pricing, at $18000. when i stated i wanted my deposit back and them so stop running my credit to 50 different banks he was even more arrogant. all he could do was yes me to death and say ok its a busy day because its a holiday. well if it was a holiday how did you get a response from a bank that was CLOSED for the holiday????they are nice to your face and then try to dupe you. im sorry but how do they sleep at night? and how do they keep growing??? Arrogant, Short Tempered We had filled out an inquiry on TrueCar.com and received a phone call from a lady named Jackie stating the vehicle we were looking for was in stock. We had filled out an inquiry on TrueCar.com and received a phone call from a lady named Jackie stating the vehicle we were looking for was in stock. Being from Long Island and seeing as though the dealership was in New Jersey, we mentioned we were interested in trading in a 2009 NIssan, to which they replied they are an aggressive pricing dealership, and we should get a good value (this was a discussion with Ray, the manager). We made the venture into the dealership and met Dennis, the salesman. He was short tempered, and at one point actually yelled at us during the negotiation process, stating "you seem to want to tell me how to do my job so why don't YOU just sell the car." It seems as though being informed leads to aggression instead of negotiation. We proceeded to discuss theoretical values for my trade-in, as he would not take the keys and simply assess the car right away (which is what I asked the dealership to do). He then used his "take it or leave it" tactic, as mentioned in a previous review (which is an entirely accurate description of his demeanor), to say "well these are the numbers you are giving me so would we have a deal with this net price?"...still having not evaluated my car. So this "deal" was not real, and just a waste of time at this point. Finally they decided to go evaluate my car, about 45 minutes into the visit...and came back with an absurdly low estimate for my vehicle (using reference points in a book for a car with 62-75k miles when my vehicle only has 47k miles). He told me that because we had a fender-bender on our car-fax we had to lower the price on my vehicle. Well obviously that's the case....I am very well aware...but lets compare apples to apples and at least obtain a BASE price for my vehicle in its own mileage bracket....not a bracket with 30k MORE miles than it actually has!!!. Needless to say, with the low-ball value, we ceased the discussion (which wasn't actually a discussion at any point during the visit) and left the dealership. NOT a pleasant experience. Oh, and Jackie, who knew we were making the trip because of her phone call had left to go to another location, and Ray only popped out for a second or two to say hello. More
Avoid! - Old School Bait and Switch Prices/ Arrogance Recently went in to purchase a used vehicle. We specifically identified one online that we were interested in. I called about this vehicle and spoke Recently went in to purchase a used vehicle. We specifically identified one online that we were interested in. I called about this vehicle and spoke to the Internet sales person (Jackie), and asked her what the total selling price would be for this vehicle. She responded by email with a written number. I called her back to confirm this final asking price, and she then verbally confirmed it. I was very explicit about inquiring if there were any conditions associated with this price. She confirmed in writing that there were none -- so we made a trip to see the vehicle. When we arrived, we were assigned an old school, arrogant (in my opinion) sales person (Dennis). I asked him openly, "so, what do you know about this vehicle?" He responded flippantly, "about as much as you - if not less ..." Not surprisingly, I found his humor (or attempt), unprofessional and not reassuring. Finally, when we sat down to talk price -- here's where the bait and switch occurs. I showed him the price we were quoted in writing, and he said that includes $1500 of miscellaneous incentives (that we did not qualify for). However, I indicated that we were very explicit about asking this upfront (prior to our trip), and none of these incentives were mentioned -- in fact we had a written ask price that never mentioned an incentive ... At this point I was pretty upset about the blatant misrepresentation (this was not an issue of 'just check the fine print' - as we had direct conversations about the price and its conditions, or lack thereof). Dennis then gave us his version of "take it or leave it" through a staring contest without acknowledging the shadiness of what just occurred. I insisted on speaking with the Manager (Ray), who tried to assert that it's in a disclaimer and all dealerships do it this way (which they don't), until I raised the issue about the explicit communications on price -- asking what was / was not included ... He meekly offered the non apology of "well, I'm sorry you feel that way" -- versus the grown up sincere version of "I'm sorry we miscommunicated with you and you made a trip with inaccurate information." I've sent two messages to the Internet coordinator pointing out her written offer, asking for an explanation -- she has tucked tail and won't respond .... I figured DealerRater would be the only way to get this experience out there, to help you avoid a bad experience. I would never purchase a car from these people -- dishonest with the old bait and switch, unapologetic about misrepresentations, inconsiderate of others time/expense, arrogant, and wholly unprofessional. Avoid! There are far too many good dealers out there to even consider this one. More

Dennis one of the "Managers" promised me a Nissan Sentra $250 monthly payments, But first I tried purchasing a car from here Nissan from Bergenfield. Dennis one of the "Managers" promised me a Nissan Sentra $250 monthly payments, But first I had to give $500 for down payment, to secure the car. I had been e-mailing Nissan back and forth because I was interested in getting a Pathfinder. I had made an appointment with this dealership to look at a car. For about 4+ years, I've always wanted a new car interested in getting a Pathfinder. I had made an appointment with this dealership to look at a car. For about 4+ years, I've always wanted a new car but never really looked into it. One Saturday morning, I decided to go to that appointment since it was up the block from my house. I went there with no money in my pocket & my only down payment was my current car. Steven Kattwinkle was my sales rep. He was GRRREAT! I stood next to the Pathfinder and it was just a tad bit big for what i wanted for now. So I told him I wanted an SUV with AWD. I told him my budget and that my down payment was my current car. He definitely went out of his way to get me a new car! He even found the color I always wanted with the special edition package! WHITE ON BLACK!! (white exterior, black interior) Anybody that's considering on going to Nissan of Bergenfield, I highly recommend Steven Kattwinkle. Yea, he may be new... but he KNOWS his stuff & and will be willing to work with you! He's humorous and friendly too! Lol. More
