Lack of Information - False Information I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. I drove from New Mexico to pick it up. I was not informed that I would have to pay tax and regist I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. I drove from New Mexico to pick it up. I was not informed that I would have to pay tax and registration fees in New Mexico. This resulted in my not having the funds to pay for registration and taxes. This over $1k. The dealership didn't even get my full down payment up front because I couldn't afford it. Why would they assume I could afford another $1k out of my pocket to register and pay tax? If this would have been explained to me, I would not have made the purchase or down payment. So I am now driving a $30k car that has expired temp tags on it which I cannot register. Also I was forced into an extended warranty. They advised me that the bank they financed me with required it. I later found out from the bank that this was false. I have made many calls to this dealership and have not found anyone willing to speak to me. I have left voicemails with my contact information and have never got a call back. I will never recommend or do business with this company again. I will however continue to provide this feedback so this doesn't happen to anyone else. More

There was a lot of hagg I spent two weeks discussing my planned purchase of a new compact SUV with roughly 10 automobile dealers in the Phoenix area. There was a lot of haggling by phone and by email, but only a couple of these dealers were willing to send me an actual proposed deal for both my trade-in and the purchase of a new vehicle unless I came into their dealership. (After doing quite a lot of market research, I already knew what the fair trade value of my trade-in and the vehicle that I was interested in purchasing were, and I didn't want to get "trapped" inside one or more dealerships for hours at time, doing the "Well, let me take this latest offer back to my manager..." routine.) On the day that I was supposed to go to another Mazda dealer to further negotiate a deal on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring, I received email and telephone messages from Gary Johnson (Sales Manager) and Frank Stevens (General Manager) at Earnhardt Mazda. They asked what I wanted for my trade-in and what I was willing to pay for the new CX-5 that I wanted. I also emailed them the proposed deals from two other Mazda dealers that I had in hand. Within minutes, and without ever having visited this Mazda dealer in Scottsdale, I received an email with a very detailed offer that included the value of my trade-in (subject to inspection of my car, of course), the sale price of the exact model and trim of the CX-5 that I was looking for, and a precise listing of all other purchase costs, such as sales tax, licensing fees, etc. Both the trade-in and the purchase price offers were significantly better than any other dealer was willing to offer me. Then, on top of that, Gary and Frank added multiple additional incentives that no other single dealer had even come close to offering! We rushed to Earnhardt Mazda with a combination of excitement and suspicion. (The deal proposed by Gary and Frank seemed too good to be true!) With more than 40 years of experience in dealing with automobile dealers, we braced ourselves for some sort of "bait and switch" experience once we were in the clutches of the dealership. Instead, Gary and Frank honored everything that they had offered by email, and we walked out of Earnhardt Mazda about 90 minutes later with a beautiful new (and loaded) red CX-5 Grand Touring SUV! While we were at the dealership, we were also introduced to the Finance Manager, the Service Manager, and the Parts Manager, all of whom were friendly and informative. There was no pressure, no "bait and switch," no upselling, and no hassle. None of the other dealers in Phoenix could or would come even close to the deal and incentives that we were offered at Earnhardt Mazda. Indeed, for the first time in more than 40 years, I walked out of a dealership with a new car of my choosing, feeling like I'd just received an amazingly good deal, as opposed to the more typical car-purchase experience of feeling like you've been fighting a duel for 3 or 4 hours, and that, at best, the fight was a draw (or worse...). You will not find any other automobile dealer reviews from me out there, because I've never had a buying experience worth taking the time to write a positive review about. I could not be happier, with the deal that I received, with the way that I was treated, or with the new vehicle that I brought home today. I saved a great deal of money by going to Earnhardt Mazda, and the buying experience there was wonderfully pleasant and enjoyable! More

From start to finish, he had me laughing and comfortable (even making sure I got a hot Starbucks coffee upon my arrival to the dealership). While the Miata I wanted was not available, he and Tim helped me find another option (down to the color I preferred) and worked on my behalf to get a great value on my trade in. While in conversation with Matt as I finalized paperwork, he realized I was eligible for the College Grad program and found an additional discount for me! Robert even gave me a quick refresh on driving stick shift so that I successfully zipped out of the dealership in my new car with no stalling!
