I just came home from Dick Says Yes. I had the absolute worst experience EVER at this scam of a used car dealership. My wife and I are in the market for a used car at a decent price while understanding tha worst experience EVER at this scam of a used car dealership. My wife and I are in the market for a used car at a decent price while understanding that our credit isn't very good. Our first time in the door was last Saturday and the first sales person was very friendly, upfront and honest with us about what our options were. The first car he showed us was a 2011 Nissan Versa hatchback with 30,000 miles. While the mileage was a great sales point, there were issues with big pieces of paint missing from both the front and rear ends of the car. We also stated that we were looking for more of a sedan with a trunk so we could tote things around. The finance manger ROCK then took over for his sales person who moved onto a different customer. Rock showed us a 2010 Chevy Impala with 90,000 miles on it. I explained to him that I did not want something that had a lot of miles because if I had to make high payments due to our credit I didn't want to have high maintence costs in the near future. Rock continued to try and sell us the Impala by telling us to build credit by making payments for a year or 2 and then trade it in for something else. The problem is that I want something reliable and dependable for more than a year or two rather than throwing thousands of dollars down the toilet on payments for something that would basically be a loaner. Rock and another sales person named Tamara bombarded me with calls all week long telling us they got us approved through their finance company . I returned their calls and told them we were not interested in the 2 vehicles they showed us as we felt they were cars they were simply trying to pass off on us because nobody else wanted them. We informed Tamara throughout the week via E-mail that we would only return to their store if they had a vehicle that fit our budget and our simple demands of relatively low mileage (between 40,000-60,000), something that was well-maintained by the previous owner so we would not have immediate repair costs, and something that was cost effective in both payments and gas mileage. Pretty simple requests, right? We received a call yesterday Friday, November 1st 2013 that they had just brought in a 2008 Toyota Camry that they felt was the perfect car to fit our needs and budget. I received a call this morning from ROCK confirming our 1:15 appointment to view the vehicle which neither my wife nor I recall making any such appointment. However, because I felt that I made our needs and wants clear to them throughout the week I felt that we should take a look at the car and see if we liked it. When we arrived at Dick Says Yes and waited for Tamara to join us, I went out into the lot and found the car myself. The first thing that turned me off were the "Danish princess" stickers attached to the windows. A peak inside the windows made me sick to my stomach, they had not taken the time to vacuum the vehicle that they were so eager to have us come and see. When Tamara joined us I asked her why she was showing us a vehicle that was as filthy as a pig sty when the shop had supposedly already inspected it and made it ready to view? Tamara assured me it wasn't a big deal and they would detail it for us. My question is, why would you not clean up a car that you are trying to sell somebody? I asked Tamara to retrieve the keys so we could take it for a test drive. While we waited for her, we found the doors unlocked and discovered that one of the 4 doors did NOT EVEN OPEN! When we entered this vehicle, the stench was incredible and the dash was caked in filth as if the previous owner only cleaned their car once a year. We reluctantly took the car for a spin. The first noise I heard was a grinding of the brakes as we reversed, Tamara told us that the shop had replaced all of the brakes. LIE! As we came to a stop light, we heard a loud rumbling from under the hood that made the entire front end of the car shake. At this point, I was furious and let Tamara know how disappointed I was that she had us come out to view a car that was not in good driving condition! Tamara then informed us that she did not know that there were issues and acted completely oblivious to what our wants and needs were even though we were in constant contact for the entire week! When we returned the piece of trash that they are trying to sell for $10,999.00, Tamara said she would talk to her sales manager to see if they had anything else available. I asked her why she would need to ask if they had anything else after having an entire week to research their inventory? At this point Tamara began to ignore me and only started talking to my wife. I had ENOUGH! I told my wife to get our daughter because we would not be doing business with people who had complete disrespect for their customer. BUYER BEWARE! Do your research on the vehicles they are trying to sell you, ESPECIALLY if you have no credit or bad credit. More

I walked in expecting the Sales Manager to say that they could not help me, but they did not do that and they found me a vehicle that fit my needs with the information that I gave them. The experience at Dick says yes was enjoyable (for spending that much money). Cars are expensive BUT I feel like I got a good price and value for the used Ford Escape 2013 that I purchased. By far the best experience I have had in buying a car EVER. I didn't feel like the person on the other side of the table was trying to cheat me and they didn't try to get me to buy unnecessary products EVER.
