I purchased two vehicles totaling approximately $150,000 on the same day, traded in a car for less than I could have sold it privately, and added service agreements, warranties, and GAP insurance totaling around $12,000. I also financed through the dealership at their request, despite preferring to pay in cash. The customer service was great until the paperwork was completed. Afterward, I encountered unprofessional behavior, and commitments such as detailing the vehicle and providing a full tank of gas were not honored. When I inquired about the add-ons, I was told they were never promised, despite my clear understanding otherwise. Additionally, the titling of the vehicles was not handled correctly. Because we're all the way down in Aiken, we will likely look local first when it is time to purchase our next vehicle, but if we aren't able to find what we need, I will have no problem driving the 1.5 hours to Columbia again (especially if James is our salesman). I want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for Dennis Risher. Although I did not purchase my vehicle from Dennis, he is the only person who helped me after I talked to multiple people at Toyot for Dennis Risher. When I purchased a Camry, the dealership was to get me a second key, one floor mat, and a pin stripe. I was told by my salesman that the Toyota Corporation would mail me a second key, and the dealership would program it. No key was ever sent. I called Midlands several times and talked to several people and could get no help with the three items owed me; that is, until I talked to Dennis. I live within range of the dealership where a person from Toyota will pick up and return the car. As I am disabled, this type of service was important to me. Dennis came to my house, picked up the car, and returned it the same day with all my missing items. I highly recommend seeing Dennis Risher when you go to Midlands for your car needs. 5 stars for Dennis! He will not let you down! More

I have been a regular customer at Midlands Toyota, In early November 2024 I purchased my 4th new car and the finance staff never completed their paperwork, the DMV can not find the car under my name and early November 2024 I purchased my 4th new car and the finance staff never completed their paperwork, the DMV can not find the car under my name and can not issue the plate for me, I have 2 more days for my temporary registration to expire, then I can go to get a plate from the DMV because of Midlands delay, I will probably not be able to drive my car until this issue is resolved, other than the 4 trips to DMV to figure out what to do, super not satisfied of the experience, I would recommend not leaving the dealership before seeing a proof that the paperwork was completed :( More

Service department tried to rip me off for $4000. They told me my rack and pinion had leaked on my anti-knock sensors causing them to go bad. They told me it was no use replacing just the sensors as they will just get oil on them again and fail. This is a physical impossibility. The anti-knock sensors are under the intake manifold on top of the engine. The supervisor said they guy was mistaken, and an error code showed both bank 1 & 2 sensors are bad. I have a code reader too. It showed only one bad sensor. A google search showed that the most common fault is a mouse chewing the wires due to a hole in the from of the manifold. With a flashlight I could see the mouse nest. I removed the manifold myself and repaired 3 wires chewed completely through. For the cost of an intake manifold and throttle body gasket, my check engine light is off, and it purrs again. Even though I paid for an oil change, they sent me home with the power steering below empty. When I complained, they sent someone over to fill it up. I took it on a 4 hour drive, it didn't appear to use any fluid. I won't use this dealership again. They are dishonest! More

Be sure to do your homework when dealing with this dealership. They will try to rip you off. I purchased a 2022 Rav4 from this location that did not come with the All Weather Matts. The Sales Associate, who they’ve let me know recently was fired for trying to take a customer out on a date and havi come with the All Weather Matts. Well when I got my car home and realized I needed to hurry up and get mats because it’s be raining all week so I went to the dealership closest to me and got the same mats he promised me for $164! I confronted the employee about it and giving him the benefit of the doubt because surely he wouldn’t be trying to pocket the rest of the money from me. He of course told me that was just their markup but when you go to Toyota’s parts website you can buy them online and pick up at their location and it’s $156 (today’s price) but MSRP IS $199.00! So even if he paid full price with his discount he would be pocketing over $100!! I tried talking to a manager Zeke about this but he kept cutting me off and telling me “I know you’re in a complaining mood but what do you want me to do about it?” Who talks to customers like that? He tried to say he rectified the situation by letting that employee go so the problem is solved but as a female it’s so much more than that and he was completely dismissive. He tried to give me a back handed compliment by saying I was smart shopper and I looked around to get the best deal but the issue is the trust I put in your employee should not require me to do so! Especially for floor mats of all things. I asked to speak to a higher up today thinking they would be apologetic and understanding but was met with him almost backing the fired employee! Saying those mats would cost $300 and telling me that he was trying to get me a deal! Before buying the car they promised they would fix my windshield, when it came time to do the repair said sales associate was no where to be found and someone else had to set up a time to get it fixed. They fixed the crack poorly and it is now back and both managers are telling me that’s what insurance is for! I have never felt so gaslit in my life! Martin was highly professional and courteous, explaining that the system that generated the estimate miscalculated the shipping and that the actual cost was significantly higher. I work in internet-based technologies and know quite a bit about e-commerce, while working on cars is a hobby, so I understood Martin's explanation. What I truly admired was that although not his or Midlands's fault, he owned the error. Made the adjustments needed and shipped out the part at a cost we both agreed on. More

First time buyer experience, complete one star. We negotiated what she and I both felt like a fair deal, however this is where the rubber literally meet the road. Financing was a breeze as she has always been a good Stuart of her blessings. Nevertheless, upon the final stage of signing the paperwork, (monthly payments and interest rate) already agreed upon, the finance mgr on his iPad zoomed in on the truth in lending statement as to conceal finance charges and interest rates. I quickly noticed this and gently pinched the iPad to reveal a full view. And folks there is was, she had much lower payment that we agreed upon earlier. Now this would ordinarily not be an issue, but when I asked the finance mgr about it he stated that they made an error in her favor and this was indeed her new payment. I immediately felt deceived, as this amount was a pre packaged extended warranty that we just spent the last 2 hours debating and decided not to be in her best interest as she would not have the car that long and it would be a total waste of money. He even displayed the brochure and verbalized that he could give us the platinum plan for a mere 8 dollars a month more; only because he already pre packaged the gold plan into the loan. When I asked Todd Finance mgr about this he ensured me that he’s been doing financing for over 20 years and either I was mistaken or could not understand. Yet I understood perfectly, he pre packaged a loan that included a warranty that was basically useless at this point, he never discussed this warranty, we never agreed nor was there any resemblance of a verbal agreement to send that additional amount to the bank for financing. This was by far Midland Toyota attempt to PREY upon a young unsuspecting Afro-American Female in an attempt to line their pockets. More
