As good as it gets. I've been looking at MK7 GTIs since the 15s came out, but had been waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. When I found out about the conquest I've been looking at MK7 GTIs since the 15s came out, but had been waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. When I found out about the conquest cash deal for new VW owners I began looking into things more closely. I live in NH but I just flew into the Spirit airport to get our airplane fixed (I'm a pilot) and had time to kill so I did a quick search for VW dealers. Went to the Dean Team website and scrolled through their inventory.. low and behold at the end of the list was a 16 GTI in white, manual, PP, lighting package. Exactly the car I wanted. I had to go check it out. I walked straight over to the line of GTI's and found it. After checking it over I walked over to the building and met Ryan Troll, who welcomed me and asked how he could help. I have test driven the GTI 3 times, and the Golf R once. I knew what I wanted but hadn't gotten to play with the new MIB II with carplay. Ryan pulled the car up right away and I hooked my phone up and went over the features. I decided to head inside to go over the numbers and talk about shipping the car. I explained my situation and hesitance to buy the car at the start of winter (having to get snow tires/wheels) and making light of the fact that it's going to cost money to ship the car... which in effect is going to change the bottom line.. so I thought. I showed Scott Roberts what I pulled up for a price on TrueCar, wayy on the left side of the bell curve. He knew it was going to take a great deal for me to pull the trigger then and there, and knew I was only there for a day or two. Within minutes, straight to the chase, he threw out a price within a couple hundred of the TrueCar price, with the shipping INCLUDED, and the monster mats/roadside kit/car go blocks which were in the car. I was honestly shocked. I've researched the pricing on these cars and knew this was about as good as I was going to do anywhere, it was the right car, and with only a month before the conquest cash expired this was probably my only chance to get that deal in the exact configuration I wanted. End of the year tends to be the best time to buy, but I certainly didn't expect such an easy, straightforward negotiation. After selling the deal to my wife... I called up Ryan and told him the good news. Headed back to the showroom, signed all the paperwork, waiting 10 mins or so for the credit app. No high pressure tactics to upsell the car. Only an offer to buy an extended warranty. That's it. All said and done I was in and out in an hour. The car was waiting out front, cleaned and ready to go with a full tank of gas. I left my rental car behind and drove my dream car off the lot. Only bummer is I have to bring it back before I fly out so they can get it shipping up to NH. Hah! I haven't bought a lot of cars but this is definitely not your average dealer, and does not fit the stereotypes that make people dread car buying. In fact it is quite the opposite, offering a great, efficient experience. Also, I've been to at least 5 other VW dealers in different states and Ryan and Scott were the most knowledgeable dealer employees I've met. Not once did they resort to the old "I'll have to ask a technician that question".. I appreciate that. More

Realizes I'm still in the beginning of looking for a car, only mentions "we can work on that" when, at the end, I say something about the price. Leaves me his card and a professional impression. Two weeks later, after I wasted my time being either completely ignored at one dealer and cornered in the office at another (we've all been there) - and getting a "maybe he's dumb enough to go for this" quote - I go back to Ballwin Dean Team with some specific questions and some pokes and xxxxxxabout features. Again, no pressure, no fuss, just the facts from Jason. Now I can get set on exactly what I want and get an idea of what it will cost. I feel I can trust these guys. I call Jason back a couple days later and get a prompt, intelligent, non-insulting quotation. Via text. In fact, I live 5 hours away, and we worked the whole deal via text, email, and phone. When it came to purchase the car Jason Moore DROVE THE CAR TO ME, on Sunday, in Louisville. After he delivered another car to Springfield, MO on Saturday. We signed all the signatures on my kitchen table. There's Dean Team Subaru Volkswagen. And there are dealers that act like they get it, that put on a good front while the sleazy sales manager lurks in the background. It's your choice - this is the second time in the last 18 months that my family has purchased a Subaru Outback from them, two different sales guys, so it's not like I got lucky. More
