The vehicle I was told was on site and ready to process for pickup. In fact the vehicle was in the midwest. I had a 400+ mile drive to pick the vehicle up. I expected to pick it up in November when the roads were good. I ended up in mid December driving in less than good conditions. The original sales person in no longer working at Dave Smiths. Car dealers have a bad reputation and Dave Smith Motors makes it worse. I don't believe I will ever purchase another vehicle from Dave Smith Motors. Look around I could have made a slightly better deal in Boise Idaho and not had to deal with the folks at Dave Smiths. The only good thing was the person who is in charge of the add ons was great. Big Mistake As an equine rescue based in southern Utah, our ongoing duties prohibited us from making the journey to north Idaho to inspect the 2009 Ram Cummins we As an equine rescue based in southern Utah, our ongoing duties prohibited us from making the journey to north Idaho to inspect the 2009 Ram Cummins we wished to purchase from Dave Smith Motors. As a condition of purchase, we were assured through phone and internet conversations that an intricate inspection would be conducted by their "crack" inspection team, and corrections would be made to anything found prior to shipment/delivery of the vehicle. Sadly, we proceeded with the purchase, and within 24 hrs of receipt of the vehicle we discovered multiple mechanical discrepancies. It was clear that either no inspection took place, or the dealership felt no compulsion to correct any of the easily discoverable issues, which included significant oil leaks among the myriad of irregularities. As a result, we were forced to have the vehicle inspected by our mechanic, forced to correct the multiple discrepancies ourselves, and forced to pay 50% of the approximately $5,000 in repairs for our troubles. The actions, or more correctly inactions, of Dave Smith Motors suggests to me that their loyalty is to $$$, buyer be damned. Fact is, the truck is at the shop as of this writing for a whole new set of electrical issues. Purchase at your own risk!!! More
Factory order Corvette purchase went flawless I live in the Seattle / Tacoma area and contacted 7 Chevrolet dealerships around my area about factory ordering a 2019 Corvette. This is my 5th Vette I live in the Seattle / Tacoma area and contacted 7 Chevrolet dealerships around my area about factory ordering a 2019 Corvette. This is my 5th Vette and I wanted it “my” way. I got serious with 3 of them. One call to Dave Smith Motors and salesman Darrell Andrews brought in a price $3,500 less on a factory order, no trade in price, than Seattle / Tacoma area Chevy dealerships. I then took the offer back to all 7 and said that I was willing to give a home town discount off that price to deal locally but the price starting point had to be in the ball park of Dave Smith’s price. Everyone said that they would meet or beat any price until I brought them a legitimate price on a factory order and then it was crickets, I then went back to all a second time and said in 24 hours I am ordering a Vette from someone at this price or an adjusted price based on two airline tickets to Spokane. Only one dealership contacted me and they invited me to come in and meet the general manager to see how friendly they were and that they wanted to earn my business. I wrote back and said that I would be there in 45 minutes, or make an appointment, but their price had to be based on Dave Smith’s price. They thanked me and wished me well. I put down a $1,000 deposit and factory ordered from Dave Smith. They kept me in order process loop, car came in, they picked me up at the airport, the deal that I paid for was EXACTLY what they originally said it would be on the EXACT car I wanted! No one tried to bump the price on the car price we agreed on. They made no pressure offerings on the usual extended warranty type stuff but they had no issues when I declined. I drove the Vette back home and overall I could not be happier!!! I would do this again in a heartbeat. I read some of the bad reviews and I truly wonder if some of them are not from other dealers upset at Dave Smith pricing or what ever. They had zero reason to treat me differently from anyone else. From the start I told them that I’m a guy who says what he going to do and then I do exactly what I said. If they are a dealership who does the same then we will get along great. We both fulfilled our ends of the bargain. More
Worst buying experience I’ve ever had Place is an absolute joke.. I don’t even know where to start. At first my sales lady was super helpful getting me what I wanted ( answering calls, tex Place is an absolute joke.. I don’t even know where to start. At first my sales lady was super helpful getting me what I wanted ( answering calls, texts, and emails fairly quick) once it came around to getting financed everything changed. I had great credit and very low debt to income, but I hadn’t had a loan that big before ($52k) so they said i needed a co-signer.. I had my mother co sign (also great credit and low debt to income) I got approved and we started talking about the loan and they come back and tell me 8-9% interest. Instantly I tell them I’ll go to my credit union on my way home from work. At this point they had no interest in putting any effort into my sale. Stopped at Clackamas Federal Credit union and within minutes I was approved for the full amount on my own at 3% interest. Everything was done on my loan they just needed the purchase order to write the check. From that day through the next I didn’t get one call back and my sales lady wouldn’t answer anything from me. A day and a half later someone from finance called me asking if one of their banks matched my rate and payment If I would go through them. Already having everything done through Clackamas I said no I just want my purchase order to complete my loan and get the truck. Didn’t hear anything the rest of the day.. at this point I’m calling the dealer 2-3 times a day trying to talk to my sales lady and/or the new car sales manager. Finally the next day at noon they send it over and say as soon as I get the check to them the transport company can pick the truck up. So I rush to the bank and ups after work and spend $80 to have it overnighted before noon the next day. A day goes by calling them all day, still nothing. The next day I’m told I need to sign the dmv papers so they can release the truck. (Transport company has been there twice to pick it up already) I sign the papers on my email and send them right back. Don’t hear from them for another day. Finally after going through sales managers and jumping through all their xxxxxxxx I am told the truck had a rock chip on the door handle so they pulled and repainted it. When I got the truck all the door handles were filthy and you could clearly see it was never painted. But they say it can be picked up so I call the transport company to have him pick it up and bring it to me. The truck shows up covered in mud like it was driven down a muddy desert road. Even on the papers from the transport company under where it says “inspection” they wrote too dirty to inspect for damage. Whatever I can wash the truck but I see I paid $150 for a “hand buff synthetic sealant” on top of it I paid to have a B&W turnover ball installed in the bed at the dealer. Also told them I didn’t want their window tint and asked if the truck had a bedliner and they said it did not which I was fine with and told them I was going to have the windows and bed done locally. Which my sales lady said was okay she would remove the money from the $500 I put for the floor liners and stuff. When I get the truck, the windows are tinted, there is a spray in bed liner, there is no gooseneck hitch installed (which I had paid for) and only one key. I call them right away about everything and they tried to argue with my about it till they went back and listed to the phone calls, but still tried to make me pay their cost for the window tint and bedliner that I did not agree too. They made it seem like this is what you get and that’s that. Which is not how you should be treated when buying a BRAND NEW pickup. After 3 days off calling and talking to them cause they never made an effort to reach me I was told there was a local shop that can do it and they will pay for the hitch and instal. Scheduled it two weeks out, go to drop my truck off and none of the parts are there. Call them a couple times and they blame it on the warehouse not sending the parts over. Re schedule it a week later and finally get it installed. This is after 3-4 weeks of having the truck. A month goes by and i still don’t have plates for it so I call and ask what the deal is, the dmv papers that held up the truck being released needed a real signature so they could send over the papers so I can get my plates. I overnight them back and go out of town for 3 weeks come back and still nothing. They’re saying it’s my banks fault (still never once checking to make sure everything’s done) two months of owning the truck and still no plates. Their temporary permit is now a month expired. I would never recommend anyone to buy from them and have to deal with what I went through. More

I wor This is my 26th FCA vehicle in the last decade. This is my first vehicle from DSM and the customer service is far beyond anybody expectations. I worked with “CASH” and his team and I believe that I will never shop another dealership after DSM. Everything was done and completed before I met up at the dealership, all financing all PDI work and requirements needed to take my trade. I walked in, I signed the papers and I was on my way, thank you so much Dave Smith motors and Cash More
Worst Experience Ever (Buyer Beware) I purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel truck from sales associate Torin Ishler and have experienced the following from Dave Smith Motors and brought I purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel truck from sales associate Torin Ishler and have experienced the following from Dave Smith Motors and brought the vehicle California on 09-22-2018. 1. Was given a vehicle without the proper DMV tags when leaving the lot and the vehicle left Idaho illegally. 2. Was verbally told that a 120 point vehicle inspection had been performed, only have/find out the following drive that the check engine light came on during the drive and at this point has indicted that a Intake Heater Relay may be bad. As of now the truck has "run on" when the key/ignition is off. The pinyon seal was leaking and according to the local Dodge dealer had been for some time. The volume knob on the radio does not work correctly and the entire radio unit has to be replaced. There is no owners manual in the glove box for the truck. I never received a copy of the 120 point inspection or who performed it. 3. I was sold what I was told was a "Bumper to Bumper" warranty which I have now found out by the warranty company that they do not sell "bumper to bumper" warranties and they (Warranty Solutions) consider this act fraudulent act and false claims by a company which they took on record. The warranty people have informed me that after the warranty sale, I was to receive a 7-page document of my warranty. I have yet to see this 7-page document. When taking the truck into to the local Dodge dealership and tried to use the warranty, nothing was recognized with the warranty with the exception of the pinyon seal which Dodge covered. The sales person assured me that the warranty would cover all the issues which it has not. 4. I am not certain that the DEF tank is working and it may be part of this overall problem and the local Dodge dealership is looking into this issue as well. The salesperson apologized for the lack of proper DMV tags and sent them overnight, but has been transparent since the sale with the other issues. I have attempted to make a call and e-mail to the Sales Manager Scott Johnson and a phone call to the Customer Service manager and have yet to hear from either of them. This purchase was the biggest ever made for me and my business and was told by many people who have purchased from Dave Smith that I would save a lot of money and that I would be happy with the service. This has been the worst decision ever made to buy from Dave Smith Motors and trust the integrity of the people who work there and it is more than apparent that when a sale is made that they do not stand by their products in which they sale. I had questions of course with a vehicle I'd never seen and he answered them all. Nothing was misrepresented, and when I arrived at the dealership, I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I had made known what I was after in the sales experience and the entire team delivered. And I got a very fair deal on my vehicle. More
