In 2006 I purchased a 3/4 ton Chevy Duramax from DSM and traded my relatively new 1/2 ton as part of the deal. Two weeks later they call and say they need the truck back because the financing wasn't approved. I told them to bring my truck back and get the new one. They told me my truck had been sold. Long story short, I visited first community credit union and had it financed at a better rate in an hour. September 2019- I am shopping for a new GMC Sierra 3500 HD long box crew cab diesel. DSM appeared to have the truck I was looking for (or so they said). I am contacted by a sales representative after an internet inquiry and told they have the exact truck I want. I ask for a window sticker and they send it. Fast forward to near the last day of September (about one week) and the sales rep tells me in order to lock down the price and get pictures I need to make a $500 refundable deposit. Honestly folks, this is where you should just walk away! I didn't walk away and gave them my card number because the price was right but still no pictures. I agree to let them see if they can beat the rate from my credit union (12-15 credit inquires) and they can't. Guess what, they ran so many credit checks it knocked us out of the tier 1 interest rate structure with our credit union so I agreed to let them finance at their best tier 1 rate (yea right). We make the deal and I arrange travel on October 3 for October 4. I have verified by email and text the truck is a crew cab long box 4x4 with a few other things. I am repeatedly assured it is. I finally get the long requested pictures of the truck the evening of October 3. The angles of the pictures did not clearly show the distance between the back of the cab and rear wheel so I asked again, "Is this a long box? I am once again assured it is. October 4 2019 arrives and I am all checked in for the evening flight, hotel room all confirmed, things are good until 8:16 AM when the sales rep calls and says "I have to tell you the truck is actually a short box." Imagine what I am thinking at this point! I tell the rather nice young lady "this is a problem and I need your manager to call me." Keep in mind this is the same manager who promised me two different times I would not get screwed by DSM again (2006) and this would be "No hassles and red carpet treatment! My flight is in 10 hours and they tell me they are gonna make it right. They immediately begin offering me 3/4 ton trucks that they will put air bags on and give me $400 for travel. All the trucks they offered up except one were $3000-$5000 more expensive and not within the approved loan limits. It's close to 1100 AM now (8 hours from flight) when I spend an hour on the phone trying to get refunded for the flight and hotel because this obviously isn't happening. I was successful after some effort to get fully refunded for the airfare and hotel. The back and forth with more expensive trucks and talk of them losing money (whatever) goes on into the night, when I finally say I want a refund. I get a one sentence email the next day which reads, "So it looks like you are no longer interested in buying here and are requesting a refund?" I reply, "Yes, I am requesting a full refund." Oh, did I forget to mention they told me I had to prepay the Oregon tax on the vehicle which I did. I quote their own deposit refund criteria which is not the truck promised, at the price promised, with the financing promised. The sales rep says she will process the refund request for the deposit but you have to deal with the State of Oregon to get your tax back. This is on October 5, 2019 and their communication with me went completely dark. October 14, 2019 and I still do not have my $500 deposit back and had to file paperwork with Oregon to get the tax back. I have been in the Oregon Fire Service for over 28 years and was using the GM First Responder Discount Program as part of the deal. They told me how much they honor first responders and respect what we do. I am here to warn all my fellow fire/ems and law enforcement brothers and sisters to stay away from Dave Smith Motors until they quit scamming people. Read reviews on their sales and financing tactics. I have actually found other dealers with better prices. I have written a letter to General Motors letting them know about my "No Hassle Dave Smith Experience #2" as well as copied RFJ Auto Partners (owns Dave Smith) and Dave Smith Motors. To date, I have yet to be contacted by the general manager. More

Twenty Ninth New Chrysler in 10 years I am going to buy my next Chrysler from Dave Smith Motors (DMS) because of the great customer service and professionalism that I received in the past. I am going to buy my next Chrysler from Dave Smith Motors (DMS) because of the great customer service and professionalism that I received in the past. Today marks my 29th New Chrysler in just over 10 years and my third in just one year and fifth referral in that same year. I will be turning 60 this coming year and is my 69th new car in my lifetime, so I know that I know how and where to buy a new vehicle. Side note, can not vouch for the used car sales. My salesmen is named “Cash” due to the many salesmen at the dealership with the same name, it has no bearing on his sales record, although it is high. My dealings with Dave Smith motors is to such a degree that I am so happy with them, I send three separate car clubs to them and my friends and family. I cannot express how DSM make me feel and how much, out of the way DSM will go to any length to make their customers happy. I live approximately 13 Hours drive out of the state of Idaho. So, I will review on the Internet what I would like to own. I do my research, and I place a call to DSM, Cash. Cash, then reviews the car with me and gives me his out the door price to me as a out of state customer that has to pay my own DMV and license. When the price is excepted and or any trades excepted, they will fly me to their dealership, put me up in a hotel for one night and send a shuttle for me when it’s my turn to come to DSM. When arriving at DSM, I feel like royalty. The first time I was introduced to Management, finance, parts and service, even tho I was never going to have any of those afterwords, because I’m out of state. It’s good to know. Cash takes me around to see my new family member (Car/Truck) and I can take it for a test drive with or without the salesmen. I take the salesmen because don’t know area and he is a real treat to talk with. By the time I’ve taken my 15 minute or longer test drive, we come back to DSM. Every piece of paperwork that is to be signed is sitting on our salesman‘s desk, and everything is ready to go. I simply walk in, and for 15 minutes sign the paperwork and walk out the door. For me, it may take a little longer because I am a talker and love to tell the stories of my 28 prior vehicles. I highly recommend Dave Smith Motors as your dealership, not because they are the biggest ram dealership in the world or the biggest Chrysler dealership west of the Mississippi, it’s because of their treatment to their customers. Every customer to them is loyal. Some of these reviews that I have read that are negative, I would really like to know how or why They say some of the things they say. It’s not a dealership to give cars away it’s to get the best deal. I would say if you could find a better dealership use it, but there isn’t a better dealership. Dave Smith Motors goes out of their way to make the customer happy. This is one happy customer and after my 29th vehicle or third in one year, I will write a review again letting you know how I was treated. The car has been picked out, the finance is approved, the dates are to be set as soon as we can come to an agreement on the trade. The car that I want is a dream car to me and unfortunately I will have to give up one of my FCA vehicles to achieve this. Thank you for everything DAVE SMITH MOTORS- More

AWFUL EXPERIENCE Quantity over QUALITY- Unresponsive Management I have purchased three cars in my life but this was my first purchase at Dave Smith and I have neve Quantity over QUALITY- Unresponsive Management I have purchased three cars in my life but this was my first purchase at Dave Smith and I have never experienced such a disorganized car buying experience- followed by complete lack of communication. I have been a business manager and get that things go WRONG but how you address them matters and I have been totally disregarding by DSM. Where do I begin.... Credit was ran MULTIPLE TIMES after I left the lot with the pickup. I signed paperwork the day I got the truck, then I had to sign again and fedex overnight (50 mile round trip to town). THEN... I had paperwork sent to me again, and had to do it all over- Signed THREE TIMES at a complete inconvenience to me without a clear explanation on what is going on. I kept asking if their was an issue and no one really said anything about it, except they needed me to re-sign. At first I thought it was a signing error made at the dealership but then I got a third set to sign. My temporary plates expired before the DMV got my info leaving me driving without registration for a few days. I also sat and waited to get my plates for 2 hours at the DMV all to learn they had recieved no info on the vehichle. I called DSM and the title lady told me on MONDAY she would send off my info THURSDAY. I expressed that left me no time to get in to the DMV AGAIN, but she did not offer to expedite my paperwork or seemed to care i had wasted half a day trying to license the pickup I had bought three weeks prior. The info for the DMV was then sent to my cosigner after I specifically asked for all the mail to only come to me. This continues to happen. I asked who was carrying the loan and when my first payment would be due the day of signing, then called back to check as it had been almost 30 days since I drove the pickup off the lot. They assured me I would have it soon but didn't offer much information. During all the paperwork BS, I had to bring the truck back because they sold it to me with defective tire gauge monitors... that's a 4 hour round trip. They fixed that issue. Go service dept! At least they were nice. So after 6 weeks, I still have no loan info and paperwork on my first payment. I call again and ask WHAT IS UP, what can I expect? When is my payment due.....???? Why has everything been so weird and slow and disorganized. I am assured the loan info should arrive any day. Finally after over two months of asking questions with no information and a lot of worry.....I am called an told that I need to pay $524 directly to Dave Smith because they covered my first payment. I asked why, and what my account info was- they brushed me off like this is NORMAL and asked for my credit card number again and again over the last week. I have called management and left at least 4 messages with no response (and yes I was even nice the first 3 times) asking for a simple explanation to why this has been such a mess. I wanted to know if this payment I am making goes to my loan, why I wasn't able to pay it myself, what my account info is with my loan, why everything has been so delayed, why i had to fedex paperwork back twice after signing the first time.... BUT NOPE. No call back, no explanation. NOTHING... But they keep asking me for my credit card. I even sent an email that has supposedly been forwarded to management, nothing. I finally called ALLY and spent an hour getting my account information figured out and my payment was due in 4 days.....Apparently my seond payment??? At least I can pay the loan company directly now and not rely on DSM FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. What a mess. Maybe when you sell cars all over the country in bulk you can totally mess things up here and there and ignore the customer completely. WHAT A DISASTER!!! I promised when I made the payment they supposedly covered- if I hadnt heard from someone I would leave my thoughts online. Thanks for a terrible experience Dave Smith Motors. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND YOU EVER! More

There was other issues with the ride but the lack of attention to detail was astonishing and disappointing especially because this particular car had been in their possession for 3 months across 2 locations (Kellogg & CDA). Was told they couldnt go any lower due to the amount they had to put into repairs. When questioned about the repairs, was told they only put new oil in it. Declined the offer, due to the obvious negligence and poor care given to the vehicle over its lifespan, despite being reassured its been well talen care of. More
