It was like a welcome home reunion since the 20 years old ( 2004 ) Volvo that I purchased at this dealership when it was a Volvo dealership had been serviced here for many years and in excellent condition. I only stopped servicing this Volvo here because the dealership was sold. I always remembered how I had been treated here and this and my interest in Subaru brought me back, I also know their service manager, Will Allen, the current Subaru service manager from my years of doing business with the Volvo dealership. Will Allen was a major factor in my return, Boomer was not pushy in our negotiations and worked with me in a way that made me satisfied with the deal. Dealing with Boomer made me feel like I gained another friend. I had a wonderful experience trading in a car/buying a barely-used Subaru Forester at Darrell Waltrip. My salesman Mark Smallwood actually took the time to get to know me and my husband as people, and he barely-used Subaru Forester at Darrell Waltrip. My salesman Mark Smallwood actually took the time to get to know me and my husband as people, and he patiently let me test drive many cars. Mark is just . . . REAL. No B.S. It was a very customer-centered experience in that he did not pitch me on cars that I wasn't looking for, and he didn't pressure me to buy new. My husband came along, but Mark treated me like the buyer because I was the buyer. Some salesmen still treat the man in the relationship like he is the decision maker, but Mark never talked down to me or over me to my husband. I felt very empowered in the process. The only thing I would change is that the car wasn't ready the day we bought it and it took several hours before we could leave (which was in no way Mark's fault). Because of the trade-in, we were stranded. Mark drove us to a restaurant so we could get something to eat, and he picked us up when the car was ready. That's service! I recommend Mark at Darrell Waltrip to anyone (especially other women!) looking to find the best car for their budget and life. I've always wanted to drive a Subaru, and my Forester is perfect. More
