This is an update to a previous subpar review/experience at Darlings in Augusta. Long-story short, got into a lease vehicle I was very unhappy with. Thru some upper level managers, they were very helpful in getting me into the vehicle I really desired in the best way they could. I have been very pleased with my end experience now at Darlings, specifically at their Bangor location. I could not say better things about them and love my new vehicle. Very pleasant, friendly, non-threatening experience. We will surely bring our future car need business to the Bangor branch. Thanks again guys! More
New Car Purchase In January of 2013, I came to Tim Hachey to look into getting into a car to replace a van that was lost and he found a 2002 Honda Accord for me. I was In January of 2013, I came to Tim Hachey to look into getting into a car to replace a van that was lost and he found a 2002 Honda Accord for me. I was financed through New Reach Financial Services and had a high interest rate (17.95%) on the car. I had a very good relationship with this company as they helped me with some tough times I was facing and worked with me on the payments. And now in September 2015, I was facing mounting repair bills and was looking to trade the car for something new. I went to a dealership to check on my credit score and learned it was at 620. So I shopped around and stopped at a competitor to learn that I may a Timing Belt that may not have been replaced at 105,000 miles. I bought the Accord with 119,000 miles and there is no repair history on the car, so that is primarily what prompted me to attempt to trade. After Tim met with the Sales Manager, he showed me a new 2016 Hyundai Elantra. I liked how it drove and then they attempted to find a bank to finance me. I was hoping for a lease on it to keep my payments within reason. The bank that said yes to me does not do leasing. I was approved for financing the car through Ally Financial. The payments are more than double from what I was paying with New Reach Financial, but I guess I will make it work. There is some aspects of the sale I wished I could have changed however. Everything went so quickly, I didn't have time to soak it all in. Because I have a smartphone now and times have changed over years since 2002, I wanted Bluetooth and did not realize until after the sale that it was not included in the car chosen for me. It also would have been nice if it had Fog Lights instead of seeing two black plugs where the lights go, but oh well. I will conclude to say that the next time I am ready to trade, I am going to choose the car I want, not a car that someone else makes the decision on. I am going to solve the Bluetooth issue by changing out the factory radio for an Alpine double-din unit, though it would have been nice to connect the volume controls from the head unit to the controls that would have been on the steering wheel. The unit has the ability to do that, but I guess I can't just simply swap steering wheels in order to get the Bluetooth features. I would have to change cars and that's too late to do. I did feel a little bit pressured when I was in decision making stage of the sale. I wanted to look at other cars at other dealerships to see what I could get. I can't really describe how I felt, but it is done now. If there was a way of changing cars within a period of time within the sale, I would do that. Next time, I WILL choose the car I want, not what someone else chooses for me. I will most likely come back to Darling's when the time comes for my next car; and if I can't get what I want, then I will shop somewhere else. I am tired of others making the decisions for me. I can shop for many things I want and get it, but not when buying a car. Darling's is a great dealership overall. I just want to have a little more control over the next purchase. More

We felt confident we were making the right decision when Jon and the finance team let us come up with the right price we wanted to pay. We are proud to call Jon at Darlings a friend and we will most defiantly do business with him again and would recommend this laid back approach that didn't make us feel pressured. More

On Thursday, Sept. 17, we bought a new Dodge Ram and absolutely love the vehicle. We decided to trade our second vehicle on something with a high MPG rating due to Tom's travels for work. So, we went back to Tim Hachey (our wonderful salesman) and he found us a low mileage Kia Soul at another Darling dealership. They drove it down to Augusta for us on Saturday, Sept 19 and we made another great deal at Darlings. Thanks so much to Tim, Raymond and Jim for the great deals and wonderful service again! We also want to say thank you to Darlings for the gift cards, the donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, their sponsorship of the local Meals on Wheels and everything else they do for the community. What a wonderful local business. We can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you AGAIN! Tom and Liz Davis More
