Unbelievable Service at Darling's Hyundai From the moment we stepped onto Darling's lot we were made to feel at home. We were met with a smile by Ted Hathaway, sales representative. He c From the moment we stepped onto Darling's lot we were made to feel at home. We were met with a smile by Ted Hathaway, sales representative. He came across as warm, confident, and authentic. However, it was his knowledge and his sense of humor that really put us at ease. Although we researched different models online before coming to the dealership, Ted offered information that we didn't get online. We talked about what was most important to me and ended up with the best model for my needs. Then came the visit to Jason Decker, the sales manager. Our defense mechanism shot back up until we saw how calm and relaxed he was. We felt more like guests in his living room than customers in an office. We actually had fun buying a car - that's a first for us. He gave us a great deal on their newest model and explained the bonuses, incentives, and warranties. We never felt rushed or pushed at any time. Jason introduced us to Steve Steiner, finance manager. Once more, our notion of the hard-selling, obnoxious salesman went right out the window when we met Steve. He explained each page of the paperwork and answered all of our questions fully and patiently. He described the extended warranty options and gave us real-life examples of their usefulness. As a general rule, we don't purchase extended warranties on anything. However, the tire and wheel protection made too much sense to pass up -especially with the inevitable pot holes on Maine roads. Steve made the entire process seem effortless. After the sale, one would expect the dealership's enthusiasm to wane at the very least. But when I mentioned having to learn all the new features of the car, Ted offered to help. He sat with me in the car and thoroughly explained the controls and functions, connected by smartphone and blue link. That saved me hours of frustration flipping through the owners manual. I was told to call or drop by if I had any questions or concerns. We've even been invited back for a guided tour of the new dealership when the construction is completed. Overall, we couldn't have been treated much better if our last name was Darling. More

FINALLY! MY JEEP! Returned to Darlings Augusta for my second and most coveted Jeep purchase after a 5 Star purchase of a Hyundai Tuscan a couple of years ago. I rolled in during their campus upgrade and detoured to the show room. Sales Manager Jason Decker met me at the door and personally escorted me to my original salesman, Jeff Joler. I sought out Jeff about a week earlier when I had made the decision to make a new purchase and when I walked in the door he immediately recalled my first and last name, the vehicle I bought 2yrs earlier and the name of my daughter AND the fact that at the time we were struggling with what we thought was Lymes. He greeted me like an old friend and within a few hours on a Friday he had the Jeep delivered from Bangor to Augusta and Jason authorized a weekend test drive. I had owned 2 Jeeps before and of course went for it so on the following Monday Jason introduced me to Steve Steiner, the "closer". Steve took the time to detail every warranty option that made sense for me personally and when I challenged some details he was honest and candid in his response so much so that I felt very comfortable when I finally signed (and signed, and signed, and signed). Then a car wash, and a full tank of gas... Jeff helped me take the roof off, and away I drove with a big smile (and big hair by the time I got home!) More

He was very nice and asked me what my wants and needs were and what I could afford a month. He met my every need! The difficult thing was I live 2 hours from augusta.... Paul had the paper work all ready to go and the truck brought from Ellsworth to Augusta that very same day! The following day he personally drove my new truck from augusta to bangor so we could sign papers. I was at the dealership in bangor for maybe a half hour and was back out the door. I recommend anyone looking for a salesman who won't push you to get something you can't afford and puts you before himself, ask for Paul Watson! More
