I’ve had issues with settling my car loan. Several months later my credit is now negatively impacted due to inaction on their part that is yet to be resolved. My credit score dropped by almost 150 points due to the finance departments negligence. I was told by my GAP insurance to reach out to Cumberland Toyota for the last remaining payment that was needed to pay off my loan. So I reached out. I was told that the matter would be resolved by May 27. Then I was told that it would be resolved on May 31. A week later, June 7th, I ask for an ETA and no response. After another week with NO updates I take a day off from work to settle the matter. I drove a 3 hour round trip to the dealership and met Adam on June 17th. We made our introductions and spoke for the first time on June 17. He then followed up with me through text the following day, June 18. The check was then written out and mailed on June 18. Had this been done in a timely fashion the original payment would only have been for 887.44. The final check written out was for 1011.69 because of late fees and 12¢ per day charges. Because of this my credit score is negatively impacted and has severely damaged my ability to obtain financing in order for me to get another vehicle. The lies, poor communication, and lack of care on a time sensitive issue have caused me financial harm. Again, I have several text messages from the previous months and at no point was I instructed to continue making monthly payments on a vehicle which was totaled. THE DEFINITION OF GAP COVERAGE GAP pays the difference between the amount you owe on your car loan or lease and the actual cash value (ACV) of your car if it's stolen or totaled I purchased the additional GAP coverage so in the event that something like this would happen, I knew I wouldn’t have to pay on a car that was no longer operational and wouldn’t have to worry about any financial difficulties. Instead, I was left with a massive decline in my credit score. BOTH my insurance and the GAP did their jobs and sent the checks on time. The evidence I’ve posted clearly show that the finance department did not. I need a written and signed letter that explains why there was such a delay in the check being sent to the lender so I can open up a dispute to recover my credit score. More
Jenny Furton and entire team was so awful to work with no one knew about my warranty wanted to charge me $1000 for my broke down 3 year old car! Also wants to tow your vehicle from a repair shop to Toyota and charge another $180 to diagnose something that has already been previously. Go elsewhere! More
