They told my parents that if they wanted to pay cash rather than finance, they would tack on an extra $2000 above MSRP. I showed the website breakdown to the salesperson and she pointed to the disclaimer saying that the price could fluctuate due to inventory availability. I had run the numbers the day before. Their inventory didn’t fluctuate since yesterday. They’re just not advertising this extra charge. Other, more reputable dealers aren’t doing this, even if you’ve heard that they are. Don’t let them fool you. Walk away. By the way, my parents are senior citizens and they were very confused by all this. They hadn’t purchased a car in a long time. They felt like they were being swindled but thought they didn’t have a choice. We were expecting to pay full price for the car due to the shortage, but these guys are going too far. I really felt that they were taking advantage of senior citizens. Shame on you, Cumberland Toyota. More
I had a terrible experience there. Came in at 12:30, 2 nd car in the bay.Car was to have a diagnostic test to determine if sensors or brakes. 3 hours later having no one even speak to us during that time wen car in the bay.Car was to have a diagnostic test to determine if sensors or brakes. 3 hours later having no one even speak to us during that time went to check on car only to find out it had never even been looked at. We were passing through on vacation to gattlinburg with a 4 hour trip still left. so instead of getting there at an early time we lost a full day of vacation and arrived at 9pm. After the diagnostic was run it was determined to be a sensor that took 15 minutes to reset. While we appreciate being worked in having been second in line 4 hours later a little communication would have been nice. More
I bought a new Toyota Highlander in August 2020. I ended up buying it in Maryland and driving it back to my home in TN, as Cumberland Toyota was going to cost me $3,500 more. I have been getting it serviced up buying it in Maryland and driving it back to my home in TN, as Cumberland Toyota was going to cost me $3,500 more. I have been getting it serviced here since I bought it. It has taken a minimum of 1.5 hours every single oil change. I had a a Honda Pilot before and the Honda dealership in Cookeville had far superior service. I could pretty much drop in any time and get out within 30 to 45 minutes, and this was without an appointment. Plus, I have already had to replace the navigation system on my Toyota. This took three trips to the dealership. When they replaced it, I waited for 2.5 hours and tried it out before I left and it didn’t work. They never even checked to make sure it worked before they put my dash back together! The latest issue was a simple slow leak in a tire. After they “fixed” it, I had a fast leak. I came back a couple days later. I am sitting in their waiting area now, 1.5 hours in and it’s still not fixed. So - take away, nothing ever fixed the first time, and very slow service! Just terrible. I miss my Honda! More
