Excellent Service Department (Josh Hopkins) I did not buy my 2016 Kia Sorento @ Cronin Kia (only due to logistics within the company I work for) but, I have found the Service Department @ Cronin I did not buy my 2016 Kia Sorento @ Cronin Kia (only due to logistics within the company I work for) but, I have found the Service Department @ Cronin Kia (Josh Hopkins and crew) to be excellent to work with. I drive my Kia daily for work (covering a large territory within Ohio) requiring the utmost reliance (dependability) on my Sorento. Michael took the time and had the patience during our test drives to go over the car details and pros and cons. He was very honest and knowledgeable about the vehicles. After much debate I drove home in my leased (which I bought now) KIA NIRO. The Niro is a very smooth driving vehicle, can barely hear it running. Michael also took the time after I decided which vehicle I wanted to go over the instrument and dash panel so that I was able to understand everything before leaving the lot (this occurred after hours). Buyer beware On December 31 2014 I purchased a 2014 Kia Forta from Cronin Kia. The salesman was knowledgeable and professional. Negotiating and making the deal was On December 31 2014 I purchased a 2014 Kia Forta from Cronin Kia. The salesman was knowledgeable and professional. Negotiating and making the deal was a pleasant experience. Unfortionatly that is were my satisfaction with Cronin Kia ended. The finance manager told us the only way we would get the low promotion interest rate was to purchase the "bumper to bumper warrenty for $2000.00. He said then, that everything would be covered under the warrenty for 10years or 100,000 miles. Well, I took the car for its first service and the service manager was very rude and unprofessional. Since then I have taking the car there with several problems only to be told, very rudly, that rust on the doors (a three year old car) a trunk that leaks very badly and head lamps that keep blowing are not covered by a ghost warrenty. I to this day have not received a full copy of the $2000.00 warrenty. I took the car there recently for a car wash and oil change. They verified my phone number and said they would call when it was ready. After 4 hours and a lot of driving around Harrison and no phone call I went to check on it. The car was parked outside still noticeably filthy dirty. When I went in to inquire about the car the service manager was once again rude and dishonest. He said he " didn't know he was suppose to call". Really? I had an appointment and it took four hours with no fluid top offs. No leaking trunk looked at, no rust on the door looked at, no head lamps looked at and no car wash. I purchased three cars here and recommended Cronin to friends, family and coworkers with some making purchases there. Never ever again. I thought my wife and I had a life long dealership that we felt was honest and fair. We are both disappointed in the service and by the rudeness of the service department. Very disappointed in my judgement. I'm sure ther will always be things not covered by warranties but it's how you inform a customer and at least look at the issues, these are legitimate concerns to people. Sometimes it may be best to replace a 18 dollar light bulb and keep a customer. I never expected anything for free, I paid 2,000.00 for a warrenty and received 0 repairs in return. My best advice is to steer clear. Service after the purchase brings customers back or chases them off. More
