Called to inquire on a use Jeep Grand Cherokee that they had listed on their website on June 18th. I was up front with them that I had a vehicle that I own free and clear that I want to trade. The salesman and the sales manager that I talked to were both great and answered all of my questions that I had. I live 200 miles from this dealership, it’s not easy for me to just run over there quick. I told them that I wouldn’t be able to look at the vehicle for awhile and that I would reach out once I had time to see if the vehicle was still available. On July 7th, I reached out to the same salesman to let him know that I was ready to talk more seriously about the vehicle and that I would like to come on Saturday, July 11th to get a deal done. On July 8th, the salesman told me that the jeep was still available and asked what time I could meet on Saturday. He did tell me these vehicles move quickly and to let him know if I could be there sooner than Saturday. I would’ve had to take time off of work to be able to get there sooner than Saturday so I made an appointment for Saturday morning. On July 10th, the salesman reached out to ask me if I had any questions before my appointment. I ended up calling him because I did have a lot of questions. We also discussed that he would check in with me before end of business day to let me know if the vehicle was still available since I would be driving 200 miles for it. I didn’t hear from the salesman before end of day like he had said he’d do. I called at 6:07 pm hoping there would be a chance that I could get ahold of him before he was off work for the day. He picked up and profusely apologized that he hadn’t reached out and that he had been tied up with customers. He let me know the Jeep I was looking at was available and that there was no chance it would get sold since he had the keys in his desk and the dealership was now closed for the night. Saturday, I leave Mandan, ND at 6 am to drive 200 miles with the only purpose to trade in my vehicle for another used Jeep Grand Cherokee. I get to the dealership at 9 am as I had planned, I sit down with the salesman, not 1 minute later another customer arrives to see the same salesman. That’s fine. The original salesman asks for a minute to figure things out, he finds me another salesman to help me so he could work with the other customer. Again, that was fine. I sit down with the next salesman and we start chatting, he shared with me that the Jeep I have been looking at has been in a fender bender. He tells me that we’ve got options, they will fix the Jeep and I can still buy it and get it once the damage is done or we could look at other jeeps. I have a very specific wishlist of things I want in the Jeep and budget so I say that I want to see the damage and will more than likely buy the vehicle if we can come to a fair deal. This salesman goes to get the keys but comes back and tells me “I’m so sorry, this vehicle has been sold.” To say I was livid is an understatement. When was this car sold?! How was it sold?! I was assured that the vehicle was available at 6 pm the night before and that it would be available for me at 9 am. They had no answers for me other than that the original salesman is newer and must not have done due diligence to make sure the vehicle was available. They told me that we could look to see what else they had on the lot. They seemed to genuinely care but I’m not really sure if I trust it. The original salesman came and apologized to me. The salesman who ended up helping me and another salesman really seemed to be trying to help. I was extremely disappointed, but willing to talk if they could find me exactly what I want within budget. We weren’t able to make a deal today. I’ll update my review if we get to that point but at this time I wasted 6 hours of driving, 2 hours at the dealership, and 400 miles. They offered to fill my gas tank for me. Big whoop. I don’t know if this was an honest mistake or if I was played. More
