I realized after purchasing my 2006 Fusion SEL from Vince in sales that the backup lights didn't work. It was a couple of days after I bought the car so I really didn't expect much to be done (not under war in sales that the backup lights didn't work. It was a couple of days after I bought the car so I really didn't expect much to be done (not under warranty), but Vince suggested I talked to John Cloninger and I am really glad I did. John told me to bring it in and they would look at it. I took it back that Friday, dealt with Melanie in service, they diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. A few days later, received an email the part was in and made an appointment with Melanie and January 2nd it was installed and working great. I can't say how much I appreciate Cloninger standing behind a used car after the sale! More
For 2 months, I have been visiting the USA where my parents live. I have been using their 2004 Ford Taurus, with about 46,000 miles. The car was running rough and needed a tune-up. I was in NC for a fe parents live. I have been using their 2004 Ford Taurus, with about 46,000 miles. The car was running rough and needed a tune-up. I was in NC for a few days and took it to Cloninger Ford. It costs nearly $500 for a service that replaced plugs and a coil. Immediately after leaving the dealership, I noticed that the LED odometer/trip-meter was not visible in normal daylight. I thought they had somehow turned down the dimmer switch for the dashboard, but it turned out that the dimmer adjustment does not affect the odometer -- which only has two brightness levels based on whether the headlights are turned on or not. I immediately called on my cell phone and was instructed to turn around and come back to the dealership. I did. The technician, who had worked on the car, looked at it and banged on the top of the dashboard to see if he could get the readout to be visible again. He spent less than 3 minutes looking at the problem, said that there was nothing he could have done to cause the problem, and then just left. I asked to see the service manager. The SM said the same thing repeatedly: “We didn’t cause this problem, and I won’t fix it.” He eventually began to back away from this by stating that he needed another 2004 Taurus to compare the odometer to, as he didn’t know if this was normal or not. It seems to be common these days to dismiss a problem by calling it normal. Even the technician who had banged on the dashboard realized, since the odometer was not readable in normal daylight, that something was obviously wrong. There is something wrong, the odometer can only be read in the complete darkness (i.e., at night). The Service Manager eventually offered to have a technician look at the problem, adding that nonetheless, he would not fix it. I said this was at least a step forward, as we could find out what the problem was. He was back just a few minutes later stating that the odometer had both power and was grounded and that he was “done with me.” He never diagnosed the problem. It is obvious that something happened while the car was being serviced that caused the brightness level of the odometer to get stuck in the dim setting. I feel I have been ripped off, because, not only is the car from out of state, I was from overseas. He knew I would not be back, and therefore he did not need to be concerned with me. Cloninger Ford needed to do the right thing – take responsibility for something that happened while the car was in their workshop, figure out what was wrong, and find a way forward to getting it fixed. They did none of that. More

Was completely set to drive over to buy a vehicle I had seen on the website but after verifying some information, I saw that they were putting MSRP's at least $2000 higher than what was actually on the sti seen on the website but after verifying some information, I saw that they were putting MSRP's at least $2000 higher than what was actually on the sticker. Lisa could not give me a valid explanation for the matter. I would've been ok if it was a mistake on just one of the vehicles listed but it was multiple. So it appeared with their prices that they were giving the customer such wonderful discounts on a vehicle when in fact that isn't the truth. I will not be giving them my business at any time. More

In January my Mustang was wrecked. Had it towed to Cloninger and it took them until May to fix it. By the time it was finished they had replaced all kinds of things that were not messed up in the acci Cloninger and it took them until May to fix it. By the time it was finished they had replaced all kinds of things that were not messed up in the accident but in the shop. In October my parked car was hit and again I took it to Cloninger to have it fixed and wouldn't you know they messed it up again! The body shop needs to fire everyone and start over with qualified people, not the trained xxxxxxx they have working there now. While they were waiting on the bumper to come in I sent it to the Service side to have it looked at and the oil changed. They said the throttle body was bad and had it replaced, it was under warranty and only cost me $100. 4 days later and $370 dollars more and the thermostat housing is cracked. They do crappy work and will not take the blame for the things they mess up! Cloninger may be a good place to buy a car, but don't let them work on your car! More
