I contacted over a dozen dealers looking for a 2011 Honda Touring Elite. The responses I got from the salespeople ranged from arrogance to stupidity. Megan and Joe at Ciocca were the complete opposite. Th Touring Elite. The responses I got from the salespeople ranged from arrogance to stupidity. Megan and Joe at Ciocca were the complete opposite. They didn't treat me like I am an idiot like the other dealers. They gave me a very fair deal and didn't try to nickel dime me on anything. Very professional. As a matter of fact the price I got was thousands less than other dealers were asking. One dealer wanted MSRP +$1000! Who would pay that? I like to do as much of the transaction as possible via email and then just show up to the dealer to sign the papers. That's exactly what I did here. I was in and out of the dealership in 2 hours and that included processing a trade-in vehicle, inspecting the features and condition of the new vehicle, signing all paperwork, etc. Many other dealers at some point or another in the email discussion would basically stop giving me information and say something like "just come in to the dealer and we'll work something out." That is code for "come here so we can get you in our environment and use our high pressure sales tactics on you." Megan and I worked it all out in email except the value of my trade in which has to be physically inspected for obvious reasons. THIS IS HUGE! Every dealer should adopt this mentality. Treat you customers as equals! When I showed up at the dealer Joe took over for Megan and we got right down to it. I turned down the offer to test drive since I was already 100% certain that I wanted to buy that vehicle. It was well worth the 2hr drive from the DC area. I'll definitely buy my next vehicle there. side note: everyone at the dealership was very nice. People that weren't even involved in the sale greeted me with a smile. another side note: I found a small flaw in one of the door panels. I pointed it out and they made arrangements for me to have it fixed by the upholstery guy at my local dealer and send the bill to Ciocca, no hassle. More
My husband and I went to Ciocca first, primarily because of its location(we live near by). We were greeted right away, by Jude, a friendly and personable sales associate. We immediately told him what we w of its location(we live near by). We were greeted right away, by Jude, a friendly and personable sales associate. We immediately told him what we were looking for (Odyssey)and what we wanted in it. He helped us right away. He and another Ciocca associate went to work looking for the color for us. A couple days later we had it. Jude and everyone at Ciocca were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this dealership to anyone! More
My mother-in-law (70sh) went to Ciocca for inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. I had replaced her windshield wipers the day before and checked the car over. The service department told her she nee oil change, and tire rotation. I had replaced her windshield wipers the day before and checked the car over. The service department told her she needed new wipers and an "exhaust flush". She declined and was charged $8.50 to clean the 1 day old wipers! She did not get her exhaust flushed though. She also got to sit there for a couple of hours while this was going on. I contacted the manager the next day and was given the "we take care of our customers...they're all like my grandmother...blah, blah, blah..." Typical used car sales pitch. She will never go to Ciocca again. I've told quite a few people the story and they responded with their own stories of bad service and treatment at Ciocca's, so I doubt this is an isolated indecent. Looking back now all the dials on the dash were not explained. Like what turned what on, turned things up or down, chaning the radio station, using the sirus radio, exactly how the dual heat controls worked etc. The time on the clock was wrong. I was impressed with they called 2 days later to let us know they found a pair of glasses in the old car and would hold them for us. More
My wife and I were in the market for a new 2011 Honda Pilot. We checked out Bobby Rahal and Faulkner since they were closer. Bobby Rahal gave us an ok price on a new Pilot, but lousy trade-in value on Pilot. We checked out Bobby Rahal and Faulkner since they were closer. Bobby Rahal gave us an ok price on a new Pilot, but lousy trade-in value on our Ford. Faulkner didn’t respond to my e-mails for a few days, so I automatically ruled them out (if the customer service is lousy via e-mail, I knew it wouldn’t get any better). On a whim, I tried Ciocca Honda. We made an appointment for my wife to take her old car up for an appraisal. They were very professional and greeted her by name at the front door. About an hour after she was done, I got a phone call from our salesman, Andrew Wallet, to talk numbers. Right off the bat, he gave us $2000 more for our trade-in than Bobby Rahal. On top of that, he discounted the new Pilot $1600 more than Bobby Rahal. I was ecstatic and the deal was done over the phone without ever meeting Andrew. Approximately 5 days later, Ciocca located the exact Pilot we wanted at another dealer (no charge to us either). On the day we went to pick it up and sign the paperwork, I met Andrew for the first time. Things were going well, until we walked in the finance manager’s office. The finance manager, Matt, was pleasant and cordial. Then he started to talk about the warranty for the vehicle. I knew right then he was going into his extended warranty pitch. He tried to tell us that the 3year, 36,000 mile warranty didn’t protect against much other than manufacturer’s defects. That the only true warranty on the car was 12months or 12,000 miles. What a crock. He was trashing the bumper to bumper warranty in hopes of luring us into the “Vehicle Service Contract.” Just another fancy name for the extended warranty. He even went so far as to warn us that because of all the electronics in today’s vehicles, the repairs can be extremely costly. Again, trying to push us into the warranty. When all was said and done, he didn’t ask us if we were interested in purchasing it (requiring only a yes or no answer). He ASSUMED he had us hook, line and sinker and asked us which one of the plans (Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze) he could sign us up for. What a joke. In addition to that, he had the cost of all four plans tied into a new monthly payment for our new vehicle. It’s obvious this was done to hide the true cost of the “Vehicle Service Contract.” Even funnier, the monthly payments were nearly $50 more per month. Apparently, they expected us to pay on that contract for the duration of our loan. So, when I told him “NO,” things got interesting. He seem shell-shocked. He asked why I didn’t want it. He asked for an explanation. When I told him I didn’t want it period, that wasn’t good enough. He wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. He kept badgering me and asked if I had a bad experience previously. I told him it didn’t matter. I said I didn’t want it. I told him I don’t buy extended warranties for Tv’s or applicances and I’m not about to start with a vehicle. I told him I don’t want any fabric protection or rust inhibitor either. He appeared dumbfounded. I knew this was a huge money-maker for the dealer and probably good commission for Matt too. However, he continued on and persisted wanting to know why we didn’t want it. It almost got to the point where my wife and I walked out, but I knew she wanted the Pilot and I felt the deal was right. In the end, I ended up speaking my mind to the General Manager about his finance manager and his overly aggressive sales tactics. In all, I’m happy with the sales experience, but feel it was all tainted at the end. My wife and I have not decided if we will be servicing our vehicle there yet. More
My experience with Ciocca was satisfying. I was not hit with a high pressure sales pitch, which I detest, nor was I inundated with sales "gibberish." The sales consultant did not try to steer me to someth with a high pressure sales pitch, which I detest, nor was I inundated with sales "gibberish." The sales consultant did not try to steer me to something that I did not want, but rather, listened to what I needed and answered my questions and provided information relative to same. Such a demeanor on the part of the sales consultant is important to me since it establishes credability and I do not want to be bothered with, as noted above, sales gibberish. I must also note that the ammenities offered by Ciocca add to the overall experience. More
