As it has always been my experience! Local Yuma dealerships lack in customer service and the willingness to compete with out of town dealerships prices. After over 2 decades of not buying locally d dealerships lack in customer service and the willingness to compete with out of town dealerships prices. After over 2 decades of not buying locally due to those reasons just mentioned, I decided to give our local Yuma dealerships another chance. In the past 3 weeks I visited 2 local dealerships shopping for a new vehicle. I was in the market for a Hyundai Palisade or a Volkswagen Atlas (this review relates to Chapman since they have VW dealerships in Phoenix and Tucson), I contacted Chapman/Yuma with several simple inquiries.... #1) to inquire about the possibility in the future of maybe being able to service Volkswagen vehicles locally since they do have VW dealerships elsewhere and I was seriously considering purchasing one from Chapman in Phoenix. #2) would they be able to bring a vehicle down to their Yuma dealership from one of their Phoenix dealerships if i was to purchase it. and #3) my contact information was given to one of their Yuma salesmen advising him I was looking to purchase a vehicle from them. It has been several weeks since email was sent and my contact information was given to the salesman and, as of today 10/21/2021 nobody from Chapman/Yuma has responded to my email nor has the salesman contacted me!!! One would think, since it is now new ownership, customer service would be their highest priority so as to change the historical stigma Yuma dealerships have of bad customer service!! However, it is obvious by their lack of response that Chapman is not interested in improving customer service to local prospective customers. As a result of this case of BAD/NO customer service, I once again made the trip to Phoenix as all too many locals are inclined to do and purchased my new vehicle from a Larry H Miller dealership! and I was treated very professional and respectful and almost as if we were family or friends. And oh by the way....they were willing to deal with me and gave me a GREAT deal on my new 2022 SUV. I am beyond happy with my experience and as a result, as of today, 3 of my local friends will be making the trip to LHM in the near future to purchase new vehicles. It will be AGAIN decades, before I consider buying local again!! More
