Nothing changed, my car is perfect, one year old with 8,000 miles, just a tease to get me in the dealership in the hope that I am desperate and stupid enough to give my car away for a stupid offer. I went to Carmax looking to sell my car and the process was incredibly easy! They checked my car and the appraisal offer in person was more than what I had gotten online. I took the car in, signed some papers, and left with a check in hand! 100% recommend. More
I was NOT AT ALL satisfied with my experience dealing with this car buying service. I found a vehicle in Las Vegas, NV & had it transfered to a NY store that I was told was the closet to me [400 miles aw with this car buying service. I found a vehicle in Las Vegas, NV & had it transfered to a NY store that I was told was the closet to me [400 miles away] due to the closing of nearest store. Apon my own research, while looking for tickets to go get the vehicle... I found out that a store 28 miles from my house was in fact open. I was told I had to call that store to request a transfer. Completely unprofessional that a customer must call to request the right transfer to the store after being told that store did not exist. So, I requested a transfer. I was told ok & the transfer fee would be waived. All I had to do was wait to be called. I waited the week & no call. I then call the following Monday to find out the vehicle was being transfered somewhere else... to another customer. No notice. I insured this vehicle as soon as I paid the transfer fee of $1,049. When I spoke to corporate nothing could be done, as each store is independent but falls under the corporate umbrella of CarMax. Nonsense!! If that is how CarMax operates at the corporate level, then maybe a restructuring needs to be made. I was however refunded my transfer fee. And after numerous calls lodging my dismay, being told I would recieve a call back from a manager... that never happened. I only spoke with numerous customer service reps, nothing happened. This experience was over the course of the month of May into June. Complete waste of my time. More

CarMax kept me updated on the car and gave me the check list of everything they checked on the car and the car passed everything. the day finally comes to test drive the car my excitement is super high to just be crushed at how bad the car was. started the car lifted up the hood and the motor was making this terrible loud noise not sure how that passed. get in the car and the interior is worst leather in bad condition 2 warning light on the dash. even then I still test drove the car I mean I waited a month. the car was driving terrible I pulled back into CarMax to see why it was driving so bad walked around the car all 4 tires are bald and cracked. not sure how this passed. the worst part is that they wanted top dollar for this car. I would never give CarMax my money do not buy anything from CarMax. More
Getting a car from Carmax was by far the worst experience ever. When I got the car I had paid my down payment online before picking the car up. When I picked the car up which was a 2 hour drive for me I test ever. When I got the car I had paid my down payment online before picking the car up. When I got home I noticed the engine light had came back on and the car was leaking oil. Now Carmax claimed to had did a full and thorough inspection on the vehicle before releasing what vehicle to its new owner. Well apparently the inspections aren’t done correctly because the next day I left out to start the car it wouldn’t start so I had it towed to the dodge dealership to have it looked at. Dodge fixed only the recalls but not the actual issues. I then got the car back and had to take it to another shop where they kept the car for a month so now I’m paying for rentals and ended up having to get my car fixed. I called Carmax so they could cover all repairs but couldn’t get in contact with the person who handles the warranty. There was so many things wrong with the vehicle I decided I wanted to return the car. My 30 days weren’t up so I called the business office and they they weren’t much help and gave me the run arounds. The shop finally got in touch with the warranty department and they were able to cover the cost and actually cut me a check for the portion I paid and I finally got the car back after a month only to have them call me and say they didn’t receive the down payment. Now I had receipts and had been told from Carmax the store before driving off the lot I was all good and payment was received. I contacted my bank and requested bank statements and looked the 2700 was there but Carmax stated there was insufficient funds that they couldn’t take it so I kept sending them my statements and even contacted my bank to make sure they weren’t the reason behind all of this but no it was Carmax. They lost my down payment money and claimed I had to give the car back or they would repo the car I told them I needed my funds back and they can have the car but they claimed and stuck with them never receiving the payment. My thing is how do you let someone drive off the lot with a car if you received no payment. Mind you I paid a month carnote already and lost out on not only my down payment but my monthly payment as well. I hadn’t driven the car but a few times because it was in the shop. I had to miss a day of work to take the car back so money missed and gas money out of my pocket to get the car back to them. But I refused to have a repossession on my credit so I gave the car back and told them I’ll be speaking with a lawyer because things just didn’t add up there. If I were you I would stay far away from this place….the customer service at first is awesome but in the end you will end up with a xxxxty car and probably lots of money loss. More

Try to sell my 2011 Mazda 6 to Akron CarMax. it emailed me with $6500 offer. As I drove to the dealership, They check the car and cut the offer by $1500 without any reasons. I had the car shipped to local store. Test drive and told them I would buy it after a few minor warranty items were repaired. They repeatedly told me the car would be taken to the Audi de Test drive and told them I would buy it after a few minor warranty items were repaired. They repeatedly told me the car would be taken to the Audi dealer to diagnose and order parts. After three weeks of lying I was told the car had been “claimed” by another store and had been shipped out. I was told the car was to be held in my name. I called the Audi dealer and learned the car was never brought in for service. DISHONEST company. More

In two days.......only to get called thursday morning being told it was already sold! Wow xxxx me I guess , I didnt even get to my appointment , they couldnt even wait 48 hours. And that mind you is after paying 249.99 for shipping , and they sold it to someone else. So I call customer support blah blah blah , they cant help me , they offer nothing essentially. Their idea of help was to show me other cars to buy instead after having ya know......sold the one I was gonna buy from them to someone else. To top it all off , the customer support person said ohhh Ill contact you back in 48 hours for more details , 7 days later , no call! I call customer support back again and guess what they want me to do? Yeah just wait a couple days as I reach out and blah blah blah. Customer support was useless , they wanted me essentially to find another car to buy and just ignore the fact they caused this issue themselves. Do not buy from them , unless you wanna waste your time. More
