Other dealers sell this same truck for 35k, and they are not as nice as mine. Their offer was 24k. They claim no haggle price on their car's, but when it comes to buying, They are worse than a hagglers. At $29k ,I think would have been fair. I would have even considered $28k, DO NOT SELL TO THAT CAR PAWN Shop!!!!!! They stopped serving costumers, and serve for a profit. A false profit, considering how many customers they have lost. More

I highly recommend staying as far away from Carmac as possible. I purchased a vehicle, a week later it needed an entire new brake job. They agreed to fix a window with a rock chip when I purchased the ve possible. I purchased a vehicle, a week later it needed an entire new brake job. They agreed to fix a window with a rock chip when I purchased the vehicle and then tried to get out of it. In replacing the window they trashed my paint and dented my door He also BLATANTLY lied about the window he put in saying how new it was... and it is OBVIOUSLY NOT. Fine... But dont lie about it AND ruin my door in the process. I have been in tears about how badly this experience was. DO NOT GO TO CARMAX. Especially the Menomonee Falls, WI location. The service manager, MIke, will treat you terribly and ruin your car right in front of you. Worst experience ever. So much stress. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I AM IN TEARS JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. More
This is the second car i have purchased from carmax. The first experience was hassle free. The second was hassle full! After waiting 4 weeks for the car to be transferred with no communication for the sales first experience was hassle free. The second was hassle full! After waiting 4 weeks for the car to be transferred with no communication for the salesman i finally had to call the dealership. It only had to come from 100 miles away I could have driven faster there myself. Car arrived and the salesman was more interested in drinking his coffee than checking on my car. Oh by the way did zi mention this is a 30,000 BMW! After the papers were signed and he was still sipping his brew he didnt even bother now to show me hoe to work anything on the car. Not even the headlights so I could leave. The worst customer service I have ever had from a dealership......hope hes gone...His name is Ed. More
We purchased a 2012 Toyota Prius back in November 2011 - which was barely used and we loved the whole experience. The sales person was great and had no issues. My husband got promoted at work and we d which was barely used and we loved the whole experience. The sales person was great and had no issues. My husband got promoted at work and we decided to trade-in his little hatchback Yaris for a Toyota Tacoma. We thought we had found the perfect truck at Carmax for a great price. The truck was in Maryland and had it transferred to the Richmond, VA location. We told it would take 3-4 days to transfer. There was no communication from the CarMax staff. We began calling on the 4th day since we had not heard anything. The truck finally arrived on the 5th day and had to be "inspected" by the Richmond location - which took an additional 2 days. Nothing was communicated to us EVER. We didn't understand why it was all taking so long. Aren't these cars suppose to be "inspected" when they are bought and before being put on the lot to be sold? After complaining to not only the store location but also to corporate office for the lack of communication - our truck was finally ready. We test drove it and signed the paperwork to purchase it. After only 2 days of driving, the clutch in the truck became loose and the truck was making a humming noise unless the clutch was pushed down. My husband tried to figure out what was wrong so he inspected the car a little bit and noticed that whoever had changed the oil at CarMax had spilled oil all over the engine but that was not the cause of our problems. So we took the truck back to CarMax to have them take a look at it. They said they would take a look at it and give us a call. Well, 5 days passed and again there was NO COMMUNICATION from them. After, we had to call them they said the truck would be ready in 2 days. 2 days passed, and no phone call. So, we called them AGAIN. We were then told it would be another 2 days. We then again complained to Corporate because of the lack of communication. After 2 days had passed, we received a voicemail saying that our truck wouldn't be ready for another at least another day because of "unforeseen issues". My husband called back and asked what the unforeseen issues were. CarMax said it was because they were short-hand with mechanics and had to order a part - they hadn't even gotten to our truck yet. So, they were trying to tell me that after having our truck for 10 days, you didn't have any mechanics look at our truck - you had that many cars to look at in those 10 days?! It became so ridiculous we decided to return the truck and get our old car back. You would think that would be the end of our problems. But it is not. We are still waiting on the refund check from CarMax to issue to our bank. We were told it would take 7-14 business days. We are now waiting on week #3 and was told that the bank would not receive a check for at least another 5 days. More
In August 2012, I went to CarMax Potomac Mills to sell my car. I had purchased this car at the same CarMax in March 2011 for $12,000...a 2009 Smart fortwo Passion with 7,000 miles. In August 2012, it had 2 car. I had purchased this car at the same CarMax in March 2011 for $12,000...a 2009 Smart fortwo Passion with 7,000 miles. In August 2012, it had 25,442 miles (added a little over 18,000 miles). I was paid $8000. A few days later I went to the CarMax site and found that my car was for sale for $12,998!!!! A profit of more than $5000 (60%). I don't think there's a legitimate business that has that kind of margin! I called CarMax to complain. According to Purchasing Manager on duty, appraisal indicated that it was in great shape - no appearance or mechanical problems. Since I had had the car for sale myself earlier, it had been thoroughly detailed. It looked and operated great! I have purchased several cars at various CarMax locations in Northern Virginia (for myself and my two daughters since they were 16). I felt that I was being treated fairly, but not any longer!!! I feel that they took advantage of me. 60% profit is way beyond unreasonable. So beware when doing business with them!!! More
Went in for a appraisal for our Dodge Durango 2006. When we arrived we were put on a waiting list. They said it would be 10 minutes. It turned out to be 35 minutes. The employee came up to me nicely, in we arrived we were put on a waiting list. They said it would be 10 minutes. It turned out to be 35 minutes. The employee came up to me nicely, introduced himself and started telling me how there procedure worked. We walked outside to my truck. He walked around the car pointed our 3 dings and a few hail spots. He then said you have a lot of damage. I was like? huh? I ignored him.. Thought it is was his way to set me up for whats to come...He did not look inside which is pristine and everything works in excellent condition. We walked back in and started waiting for the second part of the appraisal. While there he tried to scare me to think that a reputable dealer in the DFW was trying to pull a fast one on me, because he gave me a deal on a vehicle. Even though the car had a by back guarantee from the dealer and car fax. Plus a 6 month full warranty. He tried to tell me that they are the only dealer who will tell you anything negative about the car your going to purchase. He even said Carfax is not good. You should make sure you have an Autocheck done on it. He kept going and going on about I would be weary about this dealer. (Note this dealer has a rating of 2 out 10) The dealer I am working with is rated 9 out of 10. For a 2006 Durango, good condition with minor defects, NADA rough trade in. $7150 Kelly blue book $6850 I have done searches for two weeks about what the dealers are selling my vehicle for in the same condition and mileage $99999-$13999 The night before we went to another dealer to get our car appraised they said they would give us $6000 on our trade. So finally... after 15-20 minutes the appraisal came up. The offered me $2000 to sale them my car. I was insulted! DO NOT GO TO CARMAX TO SALE YOUR VEHICLE. They low ball you and try to give you nothing in hopes they can make lots! Sad...I came to the Plano Super Store, thinking they would be honest. I thought they would be close to our rough trade in or beat our last appraisal. WOW....I WAS WRONG. Thanks for wasting my time. More
We love our Chevy Trailblazer SS but we have had a really bad experience with Carmax. It started out great when we purchased the vehicle. When purchasing we added on the MAXcare warranty. Exactly one year bad experience with Carmax. It started out great when we purchased the vehicle. When purchasing we added on the MAXcare warranty. Exactly one year after purchasing our truck we started having issues with the headlights not turning off, the engine knocking, and a buzzing noise coming on at first with the radio and then proceeding to continue with the turn signal and hazard lights being turned on. We took the truck in to Carmax. We were told the headlights were covered under warranty but that their mechanics were slammed so they would need to send our vehicle to Chevy. The next week we receive a call from the service advisor at Carmax letting us know that the problem with the lights was resolved and replaced at Chevy but we needed to bring a new battery to Carmax because our battery wouldn't jump or take a charge anymore we would also need to pay $60 to have the mechanics install the new battery. After making several phone calls and finally getting their corpoarte office and their warranty company finding that they both agreed that the Jacksonville Carmax should have covered the battery "but this is the stoers call" as I was told by both representatives. The manager of Carmax refused to replace the battery even though his mechanics were at fault. Well they state that they have this "Cause and Effect" that is added to the warranty, don't be fooled.......they don't hold to this. Even though they had drained the battery time after time while they had it and then back and forth to Chevy we were ulitimately responsible for replacing something they had broken. For me it's not the cost of the battery it is the principal. On top of everything the mechanic at Carmax tried to tell us that the knocking noise that the engine was making was caused by the battery.......Really?? Really?? The mechanics seem to have a huge lack in knowledge. None the less I would not waste my time buying a car with Carmax there were so many issues when we first bought the car even though they do their 125 point inspection before you buy the car. Then you have to get the run around to get anything taken care of. If you plan on buying their MaxCare warranty don't waste your money it is a 3rd party company that will add one more person you have to track down to get anything repaired and or replaced, it is a waste of money. Carmax lost a sale due to the poor interpersonal skills of a salesman: Ken Sutts. His surly attitude and demeanor made for poor customer service. Since his time was so valuable he made it clear to me m of a salesman: Ken Sutts. His surly attitude and demeanor made for poor customer service. Since his time was so valuable he made it clear to me mine was not. I have bought a number of cars. I can honestly say he was the worst salesman I have ever dealt with. As result, I took my business elsewhere. I will pass on to my family and friends the negative experience with Carmax. Dealer ship is in Woodbridge VA. More
Carmax can't seem to get my car I purchased from them fixed. I purchased a car that was supposed to be free of oil leaks or any issues. It was supposed to have passed the 125 point inspection but was not fixed. I purchased a car that was supposed to be free of oil leaks or any issues. It was supposed to have passed the 125 point inspection but was not up to par. They had my car for over a week and were still ordering parts. No sense of urgency or care from Carmax at all. They sold me a car with issues that they can't even fix. Good Luck if you ever buy from Carmax and the car has issues. Good Luck if you ever go to Carmax in Duarte. Edwin or Ronnie can't do anything to help you and it is hard to get the read hard truth out of them, they just say everything is fine and will be ok. More
