Before you buy a car from CarMax make sure you take a good look at all 4 tire's. I just bought a 2016 Ford F150 7 days ago and had to buy 4 new tires because all tires had dry rott so bad that was not good look at all 4 tire's. I can't believe as big as CarMax is that they would sale anyone a vehicle with unsafe tires. Inside of truck was filty and oil had not been changed. Had to replace air filter because was so drity. Really CarMax can't spend $15.00 for a air filter? How cheap. Will NEVER buy or send NO ONE To CarMax. More
Bought a car from them. Won’t recommend to anyone We were in a desperate situation and needed a 2 nd car. They sold us a car with no heat and many other issues that we had to get fixed. When we reached out to them with our warranty they denied us for 6 times until they finally gave in. We ended up letting them reposes the car and were even charged for the pick up fee when the car wouldn’t even start. Do not buy a car from them!!!!! I regret it to this day! More
I truly hate having to give a negative review on any one Company but this one Company ( Carmax ) really seriously deserves it. To begin my journey at Carmax on the first day ever when I first walked in, I t Company but this one Company ( Carmax ) really seriously deserves it. To begin my journey at Carmax on the first day ever when I first walked in, I test drove 5 cars I was interested in. Out of the 5 cars I drove that day, 4 cars were in need of desperate repair. One car would not start even when jumped by the salesman. This car was a 2018 Lincoln Navigator priced at $34,500 and would not even make a sound when being jumped. The second car that I test drove was a 2018 GORGEOUS! Honda accord. The car truly was stunning but the WORST was just about to let itself be known! The Automatic transmission was not engaging in third gear and we had to pull over and turn around and drive 10 miles per hour to get back to Carmax. Well, to make a long story short. I did purchase a 2017 Limited Kia Sorento at $27,300 only because my Wife begged me to,,,,,,,she said their Customer service was excellent ( she was correct about that ) but the cars they were selling were poorly sellected by their buyers. The Kia Sorento has had more service than all of my cars put together in the past 28 years. Their SLOGAN in the commercials says " We buy cars,,,WE BUY ALL THE CARS " and they truly are not exaggerating,,,they buy any and ALL THE CARS, weather they are mechanically sound or NOT!! Their inspections are VERY poorly conducted. They also purchase the Automobile only If they can make $6000 to $9000 thousand dollars on one purchase from what I heard. If your thinking about Carmax as a possible choice, please look elsewhere or at least pay a license mechanic to inspect the car or truck your interested in from Carmax. Shop around and you'll notice that they are the HIGHEST priced dealership anywhere. To make matters worse, the HIGHEST priced and with the absolute worst mechanically conditioned automobiles around. Save yourself the HUGE expense and time of visiting repair garages time and time again to keep your Carmax purchase running! More
I purchased a 2016 Jeep Wrangler in Davie Florida for my son the week after thanksgiving. Within 2 days , AAA had to be called 2x. Dead battery. 2 days later , torque converter shot. Bought a used car Bought a Mitsubishi Outlander. Six months later and 2, 791 miles added to car, took it in for a oil change/ 1) low battery 2) low transmission fluid 3 Bought a Mitsubishi Outlander. How can this be, CarMax told me they had ran this car thought a 30 step inspection. When they were notified, I was told by Service manager Steve that we would have to pay $59.00 to have it checked out, We were only able to even buy a car because of my husbands parents passing. My husband is on SS and I am on Disability. Now to CarMax this is not a big deal, but to use this is heartbreaking. They should be ashamed of themselves.All seniors BEWARE!!! More

Got a call from Cory 10 minutes before my wife and I showed up. Wasn't able to take the call as I was driving. Was greeted and told that there had been a computer glitch... this glitch was in effect for over 2 days by my calculation. What I suspect happened is the vehicle was sold out from under me. What adds insult to injury is that the person that greeted us was going to look for another. I asked that they please send the list to my email. Additionally, the sales person never called back to apologies. Or make any attempt to save a sales opportunity. I had financing all lined up and was ready post test drive purchase. I can only surmises that CarMax has to many customers. I've purchased and/or influenced the purchase of 15+ vehicles from CarMax. Things sure have changed in 4 years. This email is more of a vent, as I am more than convinced that no one cares for the customer experience at CarMax. Kind regards, More
