I thought this would The morning before the 2017 Civil War football game, I was looking to trade my 2013 Scion tC for a more friendly family vehicle. I thought this would be a challenge since I had a little bit of negative equity in my Scion. Could we find the right vehicle for us and get the right deal without missing the kickoff of the game? Turns out, it was no problem. We worked with Kristine Ralstin to identify the vehicle we wanted. They listened to all our wishes for what the vehicle needed to do for us. We test drove the RAV4. Kristine was very knowledgeable about the RAV. Once we identified the 2017 Toyota RAV4 LE as the model we wanted, we picked the color. She assured us Rich Myles would make the numbers work for us. Rich Myles was able to work with us on several things. We wanted a car payment under $300, fair value for our trade, minimal to zero down payment, and a higher mileage lease since I would be commuting for part of the lease. Rich worked to integrate all our financial needs into the deal. We are very happy customers. Thanks Kristine and Rich for making it a very easy process. Thanks to you, we will be going back to Capitol to buy our next vehicle. More
Fraud with a smile I'm forced to choose 1 star however; this place doesn't deserve even 1 star. I've always given them a chance but sadly, they've never came though. The I'm forced to choose 1 star however; this place doesn't deserve even 1 star. I've always given them a chance but sadly, they've never came though. They wheel you and deal you in the beginning, talks of family and friends, destinations to distract you from what's really going on. I'm thinking to myself, I'm just one person, who cares if they lose one customer. I never asked for special treatment, all I ever wanted was what was promised and stated. How did I make the dealership so upset with me for the treatment I get in return? Was it the wheels and tires that I paid for, that had to be removed for the larger nicer 2nd set of wheels and tires that I paid for? Do they attempt to force all customers to that purchase a vehicle that comes with after-market wheels and tires to forfeit the stock wheels and tires? If you look at the invoice, the real Manufactures invoice not the dealerships fake one, it clearly states, Factory wheels and tires for ($$$$) amount. The sales team will tell you in not negotiable, also for many other added items. It's not negotiable if you don't negotiate. Furthermore, I was promised up and don't that Capital Toyota in Salem, Oregon lifts their own vehicles. This was pounded into my head due to the fact that I was going to have Les Schwab’s do it here in Salem and a cheaper price. I'll get back to that later. Each time I need an oil change, I made an appointment and waiting the usual 2 hours for an oil change. Recently, about a month ago, I made my 5000 miles’ oil change call to Capital. Made an appointment, once the day came I drove down, waited in the shop for someone to ask what I needed, everyone was busy, their always busy! I recommend an oil change at Jiffy Lube's because you can keep an eye on your vehicles and all times and watch the work being performed unlike Capital Toyota. After about my 2-hour mark was up, I went out for a vape break. There was my truck, in the same spot they had parked it 2 hours ago. I went in and asked politely why my truck was not being serviced yet, I had done as requested to save time as stated on your door right there in the office and made an appointment 2 weeks prior. They said, that's the done parking lot, I then asked for my keys back. A few minutes later, I was told that they haven't gotten to my vehicle yet because they were busy. I left, unhappy once again. The only time I remember leaving happy was when it was delivery day. Except the part where I had to demand the floor mats and stock wheels and tires that I paid hard earned money for, as I was going to list and sale them on craigslist, which sold for $750 bucks FYI. folks. Needless to say, I called once again to schedule an oil change which at this point going against my better judgement. Dropped my truck off at 10am. Asked about a Shuttle back home, they said it would be about 15-25-minute wait time. So, I waited, again. After about an hour, I went back into the Service adviser’s office and inquired about the shuttle once again. I was told sorry, there should be one available in about 45 minutes. I informed them I need my truck back tonight because I have to work the next day. I called a buddy and got a ride home. Around 430P, I called Capital to see if my truck was done. My Service adviser askes first, did I know my windshield wiper light was on. Me- Yes, been on a few weeks, is my truck done? Service adviser- Did you know you didn’t have a spare tire? Me- Yes, is my truck done sir? Service adviser- yes, and the sound you are hearing is the chain from the spare tire smacking the frame. Me- That’s impossible! Is my truck done? If you like, I can take it to a specialist and diagnose the problem and bring you back the paperwork confirming the problem. Service adviser- We drove it all over the parking lot up and down and are unable to duplicate the problem. Me- I took a before and after photo of my mileage, 19,237 miles dropped off, 19,237 miles picked up. How do you drive all over and not rack up any mileage? Service adviser- Well, too honest with you sir, the lift was done at 4wheel parts in Portland, Oregon. Me- So, I have to take another day off and drive to Portland for the day to get my truck fixed? Service adviser- No sir, make another appointment to come down here and I’ll personally drive your truck to Portland for you, that’s what I’m willing to do, to help you out. Me- Are you kidding me? No, I’ll drive my own truck and never come here again. Service adviser- That is your choice sir. Me- What about my windshield wiper light? Did you try and reset or update the software on the computer? Service adviser- No. Me- Did you have the techs disconnect the sending unit or make sure it was plugged in? Service adviser- No, I don’t think so, I don’t work back there. Me- Why not? Service adviser- well, since your truck is lifted, and we didn’t do the lift. We can’t touch the wiper wires because we don’t want to be responsible for any damages that the life may have done. I took my keys, paid the 70 bucks for my almost 6-hour oil change and said, I’m never doing business here again! I was then asked not to use his name on any surveys because obviously I’m red flagged there for posting accurate and precise surveys. I agreed. More

Great deal on a new car I was ready to buy a new Toyota as my used one was 20 years old and was ready for some major work. Instead of putting money in an older car, I decide I was ready to buy a new Toyota as my used one was 20 years old and was ready for some major work. Instead of putting money in an older car, I decided the best thing to do would be to buy a new car instead. I went to Capitol Toyota and the salesman showed me first the used Toyotas and then when I decided I could a new one for the price of a used one, he showed me the new cars. I ended up with a great deal on a new Corolla. I am pleased with the car and enjoyed the two year free maintenance that came with the car. So, I will buy my next new car from Capitol Toyota. More

How do these people sleep at night!? Once the salesman entered the office, I asked where my wheels and tires are and that Nate suggested I retain them as well "since I paid for the", he straight lied to my wife and I and repeatedly said he never told us that. Remember folks, F&I people don't get their jobs for being awesome, they get their positions because they have sold more/ripped more people off than anyone else. Go ahead, Google it for yourself. I'd also like to add they can play around with the APR for your loans, Never get a loan through the dealership, a credit union is always better! They'll pad theirs with 2-2.50% more and pocket it. First time ever writing a review but the customer service here was so bad I had to. I talked to the online sales people and told them my situation. I am an Oregon resident but in the military so I live out of state. I was planning a trip back in a couple weeks to buy a car but wanted to see if I could get most of the paperwork done through email/fax/phone. The dealer said no problem. They began emailing me different cars and finally I found something I liked. I told them I would have someone come test drive for me the next day. They did and everything checked out so I wanted the car. After negotiating the price from the online price of $17k to $16k we agreed and I sent the loan docs over. During the negotiation we had been emailing every 10-15 minutes. Once the loan docs were sent I didn’t hear back for a couple hours. During that time I sent 2 emails checking to make sure they were received. Also during that time I got a price alert email saying the price of the Rav4 online had been reduced to $16k, could be a coincidence but seemed weird. Finally right before close I got a hold of someone and asked about the status and also about the sudden price change online. The salesman said the person I had been talking to went home for the day but first thing tomorrow I would hear back. Next day they open at 9. I waited till about 1015 and didn’t hear anything so I called to see what the status was. Another salesman says the guy I talked to doesn’t get in till 11. Wait till about 1215 and still no one got back to me. Call again and this time another salesman says “sorry, just send the documents to me and I’ll call as soon as I get them”. So I email them right over (maybe 2 minutes after we hang up). Don’t hear anything from him for the next 4 hours. Try to call/email, whenever I do get ahold of anyone, no one can help and the guy I talked to is out. Finally got a hold of a manager at 7 and just like the day before the salesman I was talking to went home for the day. Next day they finally get back to me but tell me I need a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle. I say I don’t necessarily want to do that but that would be OK. Throughout the day this then turned into a $1500 deposit then finally I was told $500 would work but not a deposit. It would be $500 down. Even though I already had an approved loan that was good to go. The salesman also told me if the car wasn’t “listed for a sales price of $16k online” they could hold it but since it was on sale they can’t hold the car. I informed him the car went on sale after I had already agreed to the price. After that I asked them if instead of a down payment if we could just overnight the papers through the mail so they could get the loan money. This was at around 4 O’clock. The salesman said he would have to check. Didn’t hear back the rest of the day. The next morning I received a text message from the dealer saying the car had sold the day before. I understand my situation is a bit out of the box but I was very upfront about it and was assured all would be good. I feel like they just strung me a long, lying the whole way. Easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced. More
Outstanding! True customer service. We hadn't bought a car in 10 years, with this probably being our last vehicle we really wanted to do our research. Meredith Lovegrove is the one who greeted us and I have to say it was refreshing to come across a female car sales person. She was so patient with us and incredibly knowledgable about the Toyota product, she showed us all the different kinds of Highlanders and really listened to what we were looking for in a vehicle. She spent a few hours with us and our actual test drive was about an hour long. She allowed us to drive all over on roads like we drive on a daily basis. We were introduced to her team leader, Billy Hamill who also just seemed to want to help us make the right decision and educate us. When we asked how the Costco buying program worked they explained how easy it was. After we had done our research and driven the other cars we liked we simply went with the best, Toyota. We truly believe we had the best team at Capitol Toyota working for us. Thank you Meredith and Billy for such a great experience! More
Service good, sales bad. Went to them based on reference from Costco Auto Services to get the Costco discount but did not see the person that we setup the appointment to see. Went to them based on reference from Costco Auto Services to get the Costco discount but did not see the person that we setup the appointment to see. Got another person instead. According to Costco, we were supposed to see the invoice price but never did. We were a bit naive about the discount so thought we got a good deal at the time as we were trading in a 2004 Ranger. It took 3 offers and counter offers to get to where we wanted to be after haggling back and forth for about 45 minutes. Long story short, Costco contacted us about the experience and we got a check back from Capitol for $500 about 4 weeks later. We bought a Camry Hybrid which we he had for 7 months and loved the car and I must say that their service dept is very good. The reason for the review now is that we recently sold the Camry due to circumstantial changes in our lives to purchase an Avalon Hybrid and again we went through Costco Auto Services again but this time we were setup with Lassen Toyota in Albany. Capitol is no longer in their program and after dealing with Lassen, it is was quite evident as to why. The difference was night and day. At Lassen, we were immediately shown the invoice with no haggling and no pressure, the way car buying should be. Buyer beware! More

The sales Just wanted to tell you about Capital Toyota's shady sales practices. I went in to Capital Toyota to look at trading in my Camry on Friday. The salesman first shows me a flyer advertising a Corolla for $98 dollar a month, but after I started the to buy it, I found out that the deal ended the day before. After a while we agreed on a 2016 Corolla for $206 a month. Twice the price I was originally offered. I signed a statement that I agreed to the new price and we shook hands on the deal. I was excited about my new car. The sales person was giving me the owners manual and said they were gassing the car up and preparing it to deliver it to me. Then the finance guy came in and told me they had made a mistake and had quoted me the wrong price and tried to switch we to a more expensive car again. I don't know what their morals are, but where I come from a hand shake agreement is a binding deal. Each time we had a deal they tried to switch me to a more expensive car.
