Every time I have an issue, I get asked what I want them to do about it. They need to change the name Toyota Care to, "We really don't care". More
How do these people sleep at night!? N8 puppy made a comment to me about my stock wheels and tires in the F&I office ( I had bought a lifted truck with different wheels and tires) that I N8 puppy made a comment to me about my stock wheels and tires in the F&I office ( I had bought a lifted truck with different wheels and tires) that I should be able to retain them since I already paid for them. Once the salesman entered the office, I asked where my wheels and tires are and that Nate suggested I retain them as well "since I paid for the", he straight lied to my wife and I and repeatedly said he never told us that. Remember folks, F&I people don't get their jobs for being awesome, they get their positions because they have sold more/ripped more people off than anyone else. Go ahead, Google it for yourself. I'd also like to add they can play around with the APR for your loans, Never get a loan through the dealership, a credit union is always better! They'll pad theirs with 2-2.50% more and pocket it. Horrible customer service First time ever writing a review but the customer service here was so bad I had to. I talked to the online sales people and told them my situation. First time ever writing a review but the customer service here was so bad I had to. I talked to the online sales people and told them my situation. I am an Oregon resident but in the military so I live out of state. I was planning a trip back in a couple weeks to buy a car but wanted to see if I could get most of the paperwork done through email/fax/phone. The dealer said no problem. They began emailing me different cars and finally I found something I liked. I told them I would have someone come test drive for me the next day. They did and everything checked out so I wanted the car. After negotiating the price from the online price of $17k to $16k we agreed and I sent the loan docs over. During the negotiation we had been emailing every 10-15 minutes. Once the loan docs were sent I didn’t hear back for a couple hours. During that time I sent 2 emails checking to make sure they were received. Also during that time I got a price alert email saying the price of the Rav4 online had been reduced to $16k, could be a coincidence but seemed weird. Finally right before close I got a hold of someone and asked about the status and also about the sudden price change online. The salesman said the person I had been talking to went home for the day but first thing tomorrow I would hear back. Next day they open at 9. I waited till about 1015 and didn’t hear anything so I called to see what the status was. Another salesman says the guy I talked to doesn’t get in till 11. Wait till about 1215 and still no one got back to me. Call again and this time another salesman says “sorry, just send the documents to me and I’ll call as soon as I get them”. So I email them right over (maybe 2 minutes after we hang up). Don’t hear anything from him for the next 4 hours. Try to call/email, whenever I do get ahold of anyone, no one can help and the guy I talked to is out. Finally got a hold of a manager at 7 and just like the day before the salesman I was talking to went home for the day. Next day they finally get back to me but tell me I need a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle. I say I don’t necessarily want to do that but that would be OK. Throughout the day this then turned into a $1500 deposit then finally I was told $500 would work but not a deposit. It would be $500 down. Even though I already had an approved loan that was good to go. The salesman also told me if the car wasn’t “listed for a sales price of $16k online” they could hold it but since it was on sale they can’t hold the car. I informed him the car went on sale after I had already agreed to the price. After that I asked them if instead of a down payment if we could just overnight the papers through the mail so they could get the loan money. This was at around 4 O’clock. The salesman said he would have to check. Didn’t hear back the rest of the day. The next morning I received a text message from the dealer saying the car had sold the day before. I understand my situation is a bit out of the box but I was very upfront about it and was assured all would be good. I feel like they just strung me a long, lying the whole way. Easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced. More
Outstanding! True customer service. We hadn't bought a car in 10 years, with this probably being our last vehicle we really wanted to do our research. Meredith Lovegrove is the one who greeted us and I have to say it was refreshing to come across a female car sales person. She was so patient with us and incredibly knowledgable about the Toyota product, she showed us all the different kinds of Highlanders and really listened to what we were looking for in a vehicle. She spent a few hours with us and our actual test drive was about an hour long. She allowed us to drive all over on roads like we drive on a daily basis. We were introduced to her team leader, Billy Hamill who also just seemed to want to help us make the right decision and educate us. When we asked how the Costco buying program worked they explained how easy it was. After we had done our research and driven the other cars we liked we simply went with the best, Toyota. We truly believe we had the best team at Capitol Toyota working for us. Thank you Meredith and Billy for such a great experience! More
Service good, sales bad. Went to them based on reference from Costco Auto Services to get the Costco discount but did not see the person that we setup the appointment to see. Went to them based on reference from Costco Auto Services to get the Costco discount but did not see the person that we setup the appointment to see. Got another person instead. According to Costco, we were supposed to see the invoice price but never did. We were a bit naive about the discount so thought we got a good deal at the time as we were trading in a 2004 Ranger. It took 3 offers and counter offers to get to where we wanted to be after haggling back and forth for about 45 minutes. Long story short, Costco contacted us about the experience and we got a check back from Capitol for $500 about 4 weeks later. We bought a Camry Hybrid which we he had for 7 months and loved the car and I must say that their service dept is very good. The reason for the review now is that we recently sold the Camry due to circumstantial changes in our lives to purchase an Avalon Hybrid and again we went through Costco Auto Services again but this time we were setup with Lassen Toyota in Albany. Capitol is no longer in their program and after dealing with Lassen, it is was quite evident as to why. The difference was night and day. At Lassen, we were immediately shown the invoice with no haggling and no pressure, the way car buying should be. Buyer beware! More
Bait and switch Just wanted to tell you about Capital Toyota's shady sales practices. I went in to Capital Toyota to look at trading in my Camry on Friday. The sales Just wanted to tell you about Capital Toyota's shady sales practices. I went in to Capital Toyota to look at trading in my Camry on Friday. The salesman first shows me a flyer advertising a Corolla for $98 dollar a month, but after I started the to buy it, I found out that the deal ended the day before. After a while we agreed on a 2016 Corolla for $206 a month. Twice the price I was originally offered. I signed a statement that I agreed to the new price and we shook hands on the deal. I was excited about my new car. The sales person was giving me the owners manual and said they were gassing the car up and preparing it to deliver it to me. Then the finance guy came in and told me they had made a mistake and had quoted me the wrong price and tried to switch we to a more expensive car again. I don't know what their morals are, but where I come from a hand shake agreement is a binding deal. Each time we had a deal they tried to switch me to a more expensive car. Bait and switch is the way they do things. Don't trust them. Jerry Wade. (503-580-9267. If you have any questions about their shady practices give me a call. More
They take advantage of single women Single women loss father of my child came in to get a lower payment car as I was paying 375 a month wanted to get a nice used car. Sales person wanted Single women loss father of my child came in to get a lower payment car as I was paying 375 a month wanted to get a nice used car. Sales person wanted to make a sale I picked out a couple of used cars 2010 2011 sales person came back told me the banks would only do a new car loan since it was a better deal I believed them they told me only car eligible was Toyota corrolla S I didn't wat it but they said I could get it make payments for six months and then I could get into a better car with lower payments so I agreed to payments of 391 a month drove away next day got called in was told there was a error on the contract and I needed to come in to sign again so I did they said they put value of trade In wrong nothing was to change and I was good to go. I left first month payment is free well I recieved my bill three weeks later and saw it was for 491.76 I was upset went in and asked what happened that is not priced we agreed on they said trade in value was 2000 left over and that's what made it climb up. Nobody told me they told me they could take car back due to mine was sold already I was stuckthey said make payments for six months and bring it in to trade and lower payments. I waited a year same sales person dealt with me calledylu in at times for cars I might be interested used cars I tried trading in car all they could tell me was I needed more time I didn't understand why they wouldn't tell me. Then went to different dealership they told me what they did to me was wrong they jacked up my apr rate to 22% so basically the salesperson made a huge commission off me and I'm stuck with the car I won't ever get out from under the car unless I'm a millionaire. I went back in to talk to that salesperson and he straight told me he couldn't help me and he was planning on taking a cruise with his family. Upset yes I was. On top of that I started having problems with my car siding started coming off took it in asked them to check tire tread did inspection sent home paper work stTing tires were in great condition and the technician in front of me just pushed siding back in and said if it came out again then they would fix it. They returned my my car with tools in passenger side seat. Went driving to longview washignton and it was raining with my two year old in back seat car started sliding pulled over and called family they said my tread was low I filled out survey for dealer visit and complained recieved a nasty letter back saying I was lying so went in to service area asked a worker if my tires looked okay he said no I showed him email and my inspection report telling them they sent me On road like that all they offered was that I purchase new tires I absolutely HATE Toyota Capitol they should be ashamed. I don't recommend them to anyone. Now when I have to choose betweent heat for my child or my car payment I think of them and I'm angry I have been through enough horrible stuff in my life with loss of father of child and working full time and this car payment is killing us all so someone could make a extra dollar and go in cruises. Made appointment Called on vehicle seen online to ask if available .. Rudy said he would check came back to say yes it is when would you like to see. Made appointment to see next day. Got off a little early so we decided to go see vehicle. We don't live in salem so made the drive to dealership. Upon arrival I drove through lot but didn't see vehicle? We approached the showroom and we're met by Darren a sales rep who asked if he could help. We said we had talked to Rudy and had appointment to see tomorrow but had time so came this evening. Ok what vehicle. We told him and he said he would go get it. He left to bring back Rolo who asks all the same questions. Oh ok we will go get it... so we wait ... then Darren comes up and says oh I'll take you to see it ... so we get on golf cart and drive the lot three times looking for vehicle. But can't find it . Go back to showroom and wait. Finally Rolo shows up and gets on computer and says hmmm it's here we can't find it maybe it sold... We called three hours ago and have appointment to see tomorrow with Rudy we have told you that we came early but we're told vehicle is here . Oh well Rudy is on Toyota side this is Chevrolet. So we need to go to other showroom ??? No we can handle it to just have to find it wait here in cubical. So we wait as I watch Rolo wonder around looking lost and talking to other customers. Darren just sat with us looking confused as well.Aftet way to long a wait he says I'll go find out what's up. He comes back with Rolo who says we can't find it. What else are you interested in . Nothing I said but the vehicle we were told was here three hours ago oh it must have sold we just don't know for sure what else are you interested in . Nothing the vehicle we came to see.Well we don't know we're it is . I have an appointment to see a car tomorrow that isn't here now or you have no idea where it is .... well a yes so why wasn't I called and told this ???? So can I come back tomorrow and see it...well no we don't know where it is... So I said fine been told one thing but not the truth. We left and I came home and went online to their Web site and told them about are expirence. Also got Crystal Asman phone number and gave her a text I am deaf. She responded with oh sorry what can we do... followed by a phone call to my wife an more oh sorry. Then a call from Jeff and more oh sorry but it's our computers..... what can we do.. Then a text the next morning from Crystal wanting to find me a vehicle. Why you can't find the one you said was here and your computer's are so poor you can't keep inventory how are you going to do that??? Followed by a text from Art Lyter and more oh sorry what can we do . I would suggest any one looking for a vehicle stay along way away from these people and this dealership... They cover each other with the same story from the top down one liar covering for the next with no accountability . DO NOT Go to this dealership!! More
Why do Toyota dealers prefer to be this way? I bought a new car from Capitol Toyota a few years back, so I thought I would give them another try when updating to a new one again. Last time they d I bought a new car from Capitol Toyota a few years back, so I thought I would give them another try when updating to a new one again. Last time they delivered my car dirty and I found out my "new" car was on the lot one year. Nate made an outragous offer and on my way out the door, I showed him why. He came down about $3000 and I ended up buying the car due to the lack of a competing car to purchase of the type I wanted. I figured that while they were "preparing" the car, it would be washed and detailed. I spent the next few days doing that. When making another purchase through Nate again, he gave me his "rock bottom" price on a new car that was way out of line. He refused to give me a price until I gave him a credit record. He told me it would not be a detailed one, so it would not affect my credit report. He lied. I told him I was planning to check around and he was aware that I was not hapy with his previous sale a couple years back. I went a few miles to another dealer who immediately offered about $2000 better price on the same car. I bought it. They through in some scuff proofing protectant items and delivered the car fully detailed, with tires I specified. Wow, I guess Nate just doesn't care. I wonder if Nate sells anything without pulling tricks on the customer. if you are willing to go his way, he can be real nice for the day. More
