General Manager Pat Dillon clearly knows how to manage and train a top Sales and Service Team. I've only had stellar experiences at the Toyota Burien. They may have trouble getting their service customers to leave the brand new facility with rooms for all (General waiting area with Big Screen TV, Kids Room with TV and Toys, Quiet Room with lots of stations to power up, and even a private family room). Coffee, water, snacks and friendly staff all around to help out. I was in for my 5k service and put in less than an hour. Zach was my service representative and made sure I had everything taken care of, including a rain check voucher for Brown Bear and the opportunity to come back to get a wash. Keep up the good work! Scheduled an appoi I contacted Toyota of Burien via the internet mid day on Saturday and within minutes received a response from Melanie via my email. Scheduled an appointment to trade in my 2011 Dodge Charger for a 2017 Toyota Camry. Expecting a long day of haggeling over price and trying to get the internet deal I arrived early Sunday. Melanie was a breath of fresh air and managed to go through the whole process with me without ever making me feel pressured to buy. I spoke with her about what I needed to happen and she made it happen. Within an hour Melanie had me done with the test drive and Kevin had come up with the numbers I needed to make the switch. This was my best experience that I have ever had at a dealership in the 7 different purchases I have made. More

Because we were coming from Tacoma and had already been to 4 different dealerships only to find that the vehicles we wanted to see were "sold", we called ahead of time to confirm the vehicle was there. Dawnelle (sp?) is who we talked to and she got our name and said to come on up giving us directions, etc. Due to construction, traffic, etc., took over an hour to get there. Greeted right away and asked for Dawnelle. The gentleman (can’t recall his name) checked and came back with a manager, Kelly Stewart, and said she was not available but he could help us. Told him what truck we had talked to her about and he said that he would see where it was at. Then we all walked outside and he said it was on a different lot due to construction so he would get a car and take us to it. Waited about 10-15 minutes outside while he went in to find keys to a vehicle to take us down there. Finally went down to the lot near the service/detailing area. He walked around, asked a few people that were detailing vehicles and came back to us saying he wasn’t sure where it was. Then after a bit said that they located it but still needed the keys. Finally came back and said, “Well, I’m not sure what happened” but that we could go back to the showroom to see what was going on. He apologized to us saying he came in “in the middle” and we just said that we drove up from Tacoma specifically to see this truck and he said he understood. After going back to the showroom, he said he found it but it was still being serviced. Got back in the car and went back down only to find that it was not the truck we had seen on cars.com. He said that there had probably been a misprint. He also said that we wouldn’t be able to drive it because it hadn’t had the service check. Once again it was back in the car to go to the showroom. The salesman said something about “quicksand” that neither one of us understood. At this point we had been there for well over an hour and had not seen the vehicle that was advertised. We waited in the showroom again and after another 10 minutes at least, Kelly Stewart came over with the salesman, pulling a chair up next to my husband and did not even look at me. In my book that is disrespectful. I started by asking why a vehicle would be listed on the internet if we couldn’t even test drive it yet. He said that as soon as they get a vehicle, it automatically goes on there. I said that I am familiar with the business working for a leasing company and when we get vehicles and they go into our system, we don’t let them go “live” until they are literally ready for purchase. I said something like that would have stopped us from making the drive up since we couldn’t even test drive it to see if we liked it. He said that he would let us drive it now….and at that point we were done and the vehicle wasn’t even the one that we wanted. His response was, “well ma’am, someone will like it”. We also questioned the listing because the picture was not even the correct model and it was deceiving. He said that when a vehicle goes on cars.com and they don’t have a picture yet, they put a “stock” photo. Why wouldn’t they post a stock picture of the correct model?? Just an all-around horrific experience and we told Kelly Stewart that this was by far the worst attempted car buying experience we had ever had. We thanked the other salesman for his time and left. Waste of time I test drove a car here and liked it. Price wasn't bad (but I'm not paying sticker price) so we went in to discuss. I didn't agree to sticker price so I test drove a car here and liked it. Price wasn't bad (but I'm not paying sticker price) so we went in to discuss. I didn't agree to sticker price so the 'big boss' came out to talk. We got it down a little, but he was pushing me to shake his hand, seal the deal. I said I didn't want to pay what he'd come up with and that I had to get going for another appointment. I agreed to return to continue to discuss. I returned a few hours later and he said he couldn't do any better. If he had left it at that, okay. But instead I got this whole story about how they need to make money to build their new building and it just felt so sleezy. I wasn't there to pay for their building, I was there to buy a car. I left, test drove a car not far away and didn't like it. Had he just said "this is our final price, I can't do any lower' and left at that, I would've come back and tried to negotiate an extra key or something like that and bought the car. But the whole experience left such a sour taste in my mouth that I refused to do it. Ended up buying an awesome car from Rodland the following day. Zero sleezy tactics, friendly people to work with and zero regrets. More

The dealer gave me the president day discount even when it expired. But the most important thing for me is that everybody was courteous and highly professional. I was offered a discount even on the dealer's packages. I received the follow up calls to make sure that I am still happy with my new car :) Appreciate that. My Husband and I purchased a used car here at the Burien Toyota within the last year. We can back to trade it in for a newer car. They changed the trade in price on our car by a BIG difference from the firs Toyota within the last year. We can back to trade it in for a newer car. They changed the trade in price on our car by a BIG difference from the first time we talked with them. We then decieded to go to Toyota of Seattle where they printed out a bunch of information on our car showing us the car we own has been in a car accident, and has had 4 owners! Burien Toyota told us we were going to be the second owners and that it has a clean history. We are a young married couple just buying our first car, not knowing much at the time. They knew that and took complete advantage of us. We now know about our car and that we are paying almost double a month than what we should be paying. I will never go back to this dealership after all that has happened. More
If you liked buying a car 20 years ago then Burien Toyota is the place for you. You’ll get to wait around for hours, go back and forth dickering over a price, and walk away wondering if you really got much is the place for you. You’ll get to wait around for hours, go back and forth dickering over a price, and walk away wondering if you really got much of a deal. They’ll overpromise and underdeliver and every suspicion you’ve ever had of the car buying process will be reaffirmed. If you don’t accept the first counter offer, you’ll get to meet the General Sales Manager who has perfected his role--he’s a walking cliche. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the valedictorian of his class at car sales school back in the day. He really knows how to dominate. Alternatively, you could maintain your sanity and buy a car the way you buy everything else. Online. Contact Rodland Toyota or Heartland Toyota by email. I had much better experiences with both after Burien Toyota turned into a frustrating, time-wasting dead end. And don’t just research your car choice—be sure to spend some time on the dealer as well. We'd gladly recommend them to our friends, colleagues, and family. We knew what vehicle we wanted and were ready to buy when we visited Burien. They didn't have the exact vehicle we wanted on the lot and needed get it in from another dealer. We agreed on a price quickly and left a deposit. The whole thing took about 45 mins. The next day, the vehicle was ready for us to pick up. There was more paperwork to do this time. But we were in and out with our new vehicle in maybe an hour and a half. We experienced none of the car salesman 'tricks' that sometime plague the industry. No high pressure sales tactics. No misinformation. No leaving us to wait while the salesperson talks to his manager. No long drawn out negotiations to get to the right price. No changing the deal afterwards. No pressuring us to buy extras and add-ons we didn't want like fabric protectant or extended warranties. Throughout the entire process, everyone at Burien was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, responsive, respectful, and straightforward to deal with. More
