This is the second car that I bought at this dealership the second car was bought this year. I have always had a pleasant experience with everyone I came in contact with until now. When I bought the second car I was told by the salesman that he only had one key for the car and would call me when the other came in. Unfortunately, I learned that the salesman left shortly after selling me the car, a 2024 Crown. I never gave the second key a thought until I was notified by email that I needed to contact the dealership about the extra key, I did contact them and they informed me that I could come pick it up. However, when I got there I was told that I would not be getting the shank (first time ever hearing that word) so I had to ask what was a shank? I was told it is the key that sits inside the key fob and only opens the door. I was told I should have gotten the shank when I bought the vehicle. I let that person know I only got the one key fob that had a “shank” inside and that a shank was never discussed or a second shank given to me. I went ahead and let them file a claim on my warranty since they said it was an option but I also felt like it was my only option. Honestly, I didn’t think that it would come to filing a claim. I thought they would do the right thing and give me the shank since I was never given one, I couldn’t have been any clearer about that and the fact the former salesman never gave it to me. Lastly, when I stopped by to pick up the shank which frankly came in so fast after filing the claim (like a day or two) that I do wonder if they had the shank all along. Anyway while there I asked for a copy of my warranty. In which surprisingly I was told it was a lot of pages and preceded to tell me that I should have gotten a usb with my warranty on that. First of all, just as I said to the service man no one has ever given me a usb with my warranty for the Camry I bought nor the Crown I have now. It was news to me. He said that I should have gotten it from the finance person, well just another thing that I did not get! I was told if any of the office doors were open, I could ask any one of them and they’ll get it for me. Just my luck no one was in their office accept one guy who had his door closed. He didn’t have a customer but I didn’t want to bother him since his door was closed and cell phone in hand. I told the service man on my way out I’d call. That’s it, I’m very very disappointed how this played out and feel like I don’t want to go back. I have no idea how I’ll be treated the next time I’m there. More
