Thank you David Ellis of Bob King Kia July 29, 2016 During June on my trip from Ocoee, Florida to Winston Salem, North Carolina, my engine light came on during stand still traffic in July 29, 2016 During June on my trip from Ocoee, Florida to Winston Salem, North Carolina, my engine light came on during stand still traffic in Charlotte. As it was around about 4 P.M. on Thursday, from the road I called the Kia dealer in Winston Salem, N.C., Bob King Kia. I was lucky enough to have my call answered by Mr. David Ellis in the service department. Mr. Ellis instructed me to be there on Friday morning if I could make it to Winston Salem. I made it there and on Friday morning Mr. Ellis immediately addressed my situation. The diagnosis revealed my car needed a new transmission…the last thing one needs to hear, especially far from home. I honestly feel Mr. Ellis went the extra mile in assisting me and trying to make the ordeal as painless as possible. Me. Ellis arranged for a replacement transmission to be overnighted and also insisted on my using one of their loaner cars to use while waiting in town for the repair. As I was not the original owner of my Kia, there was no dealer coverage for the transmission. However I did have coverage through CNA. Sadly I was required to contact them to be approved prior to any work being started and when I contacted them the transmission was already ordered and was to be flown in from California so it could be installed early the next week. When I called Kia, the service department was closed and I could only leave a message with my case number and eight hundred number for CNA. When I called Kia on Monday morning… Mr. Ellis had already tried to contact CNA. Despite what was clearly my blunder, Mr. Ellis worked with the CNA coverage department and arranged for them to cover twenty-one hundred dollars of my bill…nearly all of it. He did not have to do this… he could have just told me it was too late. I am heartened and thankful for his efforts and felt Bob King dealership is fortunate to have Mr. Ellis on their staff. When I hear people say they would never take their vehicle to a dealer for repairs I will relate the exceptional assistance I relieved from Mr. David Ellis at Bob King Kia as to why I insist on going to the dealership for my cars problems. Thank you Mr. Ellis…I could not have had more professional assistance in saving my trip to visit my 90 year old mother.
