I have made several purchases at other dealerships and have been most impressed with the customer care that this one provides. Sonny handled the sale of my Car and kept me up to date with it's status at enough intervals that my impatience didn't have a chance to grow too much. In my brief interaction with Ms. Kolb I fully understand why the company is as successful as it is. She is very attentive to the customer and does not hesitate to get involved in order to resolve and issues that arise. Between Chris and Mark I was able to get a couple of issues squared away promptly and professionally. I am happy with the vehicle and will not hesitate to go back when I'm ready for my next one. As with all dealerships, the service/parts dept is where you will spend the big bucks. Luckily I have not had any serious issues with my 3 Subaru's yet but I have ordered parts at Bill Kolb and they got the parts for me right away and called me as soon as they came in. The Service Techs are friendly and easy to talk to about mechanical issues if you're a DIY type like me. And they won't charge extra for fixing whatever you break afterwards lol. Overall... Good dealership so far. More

He gave me detailed information on the many safety and comfort features of the 2012 Outback and worked with me to find just what I wanted - I told him I didn't need lots of bells & whistles, just good, safe, dependable, and comfortable transportation - and heated seats! The haggle-free, no-pressure sales at Bill Kolb is a pleasure, and Sonny's warm, friendly manner and obvious knowledge of all things Subaru made purchasing my first new car in almost 20 years a pleasure! I've recommended Sonny and Bill Kolb Subaru to many friends and will continue to do so. More

Yet, duty called. Impulsively, we turned to what we knew...Hondas. It didn't take long to realize subsequent to visiting several dealerships, that our long-standing tradition of exclusively purchasing new cars, was no longer a viable option for us at this time. Reluctantly, we were compelled to consider the prospect of going the used car route instead. Thankfully, friends of ours suggested Bill Kobb Jr. Subaru, on Route 303 in Orangeburg. Experiencing favorable ownership of several Subarus, and knowledgeable of their upstanding reputation respective of used car sales; our friends remained highly confident of us achieving the ultimate in personal satisfaction therein. How right they proved to be. Immediately upon entry we sensed something uniquely distinctive about the place. Not only was said locality physically packed and bustling with a continuum of consumer inquiry and related happenstance, it too seemed enriched with an overwhelming ambience of eagerness and excitement radiating from both shoppers and assigned associates alike. Before long a most welcoming representative who eventually inquired if we had a scheduled appointment approached us. Accordingly, we readily acquiesced our dual debacle of not only being void of a previously arranged engagement, but basically unenlightened as to the overall nature of a Subaru. Without delay he assured us someone would be available to assist us. Enter Mr. Aaron Santiago, Sales Consultant. Although in between prearranged meetings, Aaron's overall attention and demeanor toward us was collective, fixed and genuinely cordial. Moreover, he was in ready possession of a quick-witted, highly insightful reserve of relevant automotive facts and concerning particulars at hand. Upon an initial advisement of financial parameters and expectations, Aaron suggested a 2011 Impreza. Soon thereafter we found ourselves actively behind the wheel of same, experiencing an advanced level of motoring upon local streets and parkways like never before. In the vehicular sense, we were sold. However, after sitting down and working with actual figures, the numbers were just not adding up for us. Enter Mr. Michael Poznanski, Sales Manager. Like everyone we met thus far, Michael too was extremely pleasant and most responsive in further consideration of our current pecuniary pickle. Straightaway, he had put forth several economic options including leasing, which did not appeal to us at all. In full understanding, Michael ultimately proposed to purchase our old clunker and facilitated discovery of a more manageable interest rate on a car loan. Last but not least, enter Mr. Paul Spiegel, Financial/Service Consultant. Paul proved most influential in alleviating last minute financial anxieties as well as affording us a great rate on an extended full-service contract for our newly purchased Impreza. To date we are throughly enjoying our Subaru knowing that we've achieved the maximum in exceptional vehicular performance, safety and premium value. Thank you, Bill Kobb Jr. Sincerely, Robin & Jimmy Condoluci More

I test drove two cars on Thursday night and called the salesman on Friday morning to let him know what car I intended to purchase. He said he would get the paperwork started and I agreed to come by after work around 5pm. I ended up getting stuck in a meeting and did not make it to the dealership until around 6pm. Luckily, there were a few very helpful salesman still available and I was able to complete the paperwork (Ross had already left for the day). I then met with Paul, the finance manager. I had already run my credit that week to make sure I knew what my interest rate should be. When I asked him the rate, he told me it would be 4.69%, much higher than I was expecting. I told him flat out that I was not paying above 4% and reconfirmed my credit scores. He immedialtely obliged and did not give me trouble with this. I know its common practice to pad the interest rates so I was not surprised about this. He then asked for a check for a $500.00 deposit and advised to bring the remaining amount in a bank check when I picked the car up. When I came in on Monday, I brought my bank check with me and began signing the financing paperwork. I double checked the rate and monthly payment (just in case!) and everything looked good. I gave the salesman my down payment bank check and he told me I was $500 short. I told him I had given my deposit to Paul in finance. The salesman went and check around and came back telling me the check "had been lost and no one knew who it belonged to so they shredded it". I was a bit confused that my check was "lost" and "found" within such a short period of time. In addition, whoever found the check did not bother to check the name and find the buyer's file. They just "shredded" it? I then wrote another check to cover the deposit. The salesman took it and went to the finance office. He came back and told me it "wasn't going through", implying the check was bad. He asked for a credit card and I told him I only used debit and the funds were coming from the same as the checking account. He went and ran the debit card and it went through immediately. I told him I was very concerned that I had paid for my deposit 3 times now and it was entirely possible that all three amounts would be deducted from my account. There was no way to prove the original check had been shredded and in addition, the other check was called in via "telecheck" and could potentially come up in my bank account as a charge at some point. I will continue to check my account to see what happens with this. It is very disconcerting that they are so careless with customer checks. There was obviously an issue with the second check being called in because the money was definitely in the account (it went through with the debit card!) Other concern of mine was when I overheard another salesman on the phone with another customer. He was telling him that "the pricing wasn't negotiated over the phone but he was welcome to come in a dicuss it" and also that "they wouldn't lose a deal over pricing". To me, this indicated the pricing was flexible. When I went in to buy my car, I was told that there was one set price and absolutely no negotiating on it. I paid full price but for some reason, the other salesman was telling another customer that they would consider offers. Although I love the car, I am a little nervous with Bill Kolb Subaru and I waiting to see what happens with my other two deposit checks. I didn't like the fact that they were so casual about losing my first check and expected me to just write up another one. Be careful with this dealership. Make sure you check your credit before going to finance, definitely ask for the carfax and get everyone's name (in case they lose your checks!!) The car is nice but I feel as though I could have gotten the same car anywhere else. More

I went to Bill Kolb, in no small part, because they were touted to be a "no haggle" dealer. I have haggled all my life with car dealers and have walked out when wrapping up a deal due to unanticipated charges that were levied at the last minute. So it was with a sense of relief that my husband and I chose to deal with Bill Kolb. Everything went quite well, though it was a very long day of waiting for the Subaru we chose to be gone over for the final inspection. It wasn't until toward the end of that time that we were asked whether we desired an additional key. When we said yes, we were told that that key would run us app. $190. When I became unhappy about that, I asked to speak to the head manager. I apologize for not remembering his name, but he told me that prices are so close to the bone that they have to charge for any additional items. It was at that point that I had a familiar feeling of dread that comes with buying a car. There may never have been a time that I have bought a car that I can recall the price quoted to be the actual price that we paid to actually be able to drive that car away, and this was no exception. And it always comes down to a couple of hundred bucks! This Manager told me that of course we did not have to buy the additional key. I asked him how many customers out of a hundred are happy with one key. He claimed that there are many. I find that quite difficult to believe. Apparently, though, they have you "over a barrel" with this one, since the keys are laser cut and cannot be obtained anywhere except through Subaru. So, even though we asked several times earlier in our process for full disclosure of the ultimate cost of the vehicle (which did total in excess of $24,000), they "forgot" to mention the cost of the extra key. Oh, I also forgot how nasty the manager became when I said that I was going to write a review of this encounter. I told him that he should not worry about it since he feels that they are completely in the right to charge for this extra key and in effect to add a last minute up-charge of $190, just like every other car dealer I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! The tale of servicing remains to be told. More
I purchased a 2010 Legacy GT that had been part of the Subaru buy-back program. I put a deposit on the car one week before making the trek down from Massachusetts to buy the car. When I arrived my sales p Subaru buy-back program. I put a deposit on the car one week before making the trek down from Massachusetts to buy the car. When I arrived my sales person was waiting for me and had the car out and ready for a test drive. The sale was smooth and easy with no surprises. I had cold feet about purchasing a buy-back vehicle a few days before heading down and left a message for the owner of the dealership. She returned my call late on a Friday night after returning from vacation. Needless to say I was satisfied with her answer(s) and impressed by the call-back. 10k later and the car is great and living up to expectations. Thank you Bill Kolb Subaru More

I did not feel pressured or annoyed with the service Sam was friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and respectful. The other sales people were polite too. I did not feel pressured or annoyed with the service I was getting. I would tell anyone to go there. Of course I would tell them to ask for Sam (no offense to the others). I felt very comfortable asking all of my questions, and Sam answered them all with knowledge and patience. He was great when we went for the test drive. On the day I went to pick up my car, Sam was with other people. Someone else started the process (asking if this was ok with me first). As soon as Sam finished, he came over and finished things. He went over everything in the car, and worked with me to pair my phone. This was my first new car. My other car was my first car that I bought used, and had for over 15 years. I could not have asked for a better "first new car" experience. Thank you, again, to everyone at Bill Kolb Jr. for making my car buying experience a positive one. More

I would buy a car from him again! The no hassle pricing, I was leary of, but I actually preferred in the end. I went to other dealerships and received quotes online and they were in the lower range of the prices -- the time it saves from having to deal with several salespeople. And there were no hidden fees or charges which was nice. More
