Howard of Bill Kolb Subaru is without a doubt the gold standard of what each and every sales person should strive to be. I went to two other Subaru dealerships and left not only with a “bad taste in month” I almost was turned off by Subaru completely. However, I reached out to Howard at Bill Kolb Subaru and he made my experience like a child at Christmas. We walked me through the entire process without the typical pressure of buying. He gave me the best price up front and closed the transaction with a final review of my paperwork and my vehicle. He ensured that I was completely satisfied and was well educated with the in/outs of my car. Thank you Howard. I strongly recommend Howard of Bill Kolb Subaru you will not be disappointed. More
Horrible pre-sales experience. I visited this dealer because of its close proximity to a job site I have been working at for 2-3 months - my interest was for a 2015 Subaru WRX STI a I visited this dealer because of its close proximity to a job site I have been working at for 2-3 months - my interest was for a 2015 Subaru WRX STI and this dealer seemed to have the same 2-3 STI models parked out front for that time, so one day I ventured in. I was greeted by Sam Texler who after 5 min of speaking with me, told me he had a delivery appointment with a customer and handed me off to a lot attendant Larry Annunziato, whom to his credit was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, but I was still unclear if he could in fact sell me a car. After perusing the inventory, they did not have my exact spec in stock and I was told I would have to order a car. After a call to my wife, I used TrueCar pricing to make an offer on an existing car in inventory. Larry, although very pleasant had to keep jumping from desk to desk because primarily he was a lot attendant and all the desks belonged to Sr. salespeople so the process of taking down my info + making a solid offer on the car took 1.5hrs. The manager did not agree on price and did not discount the car much so I left. 1 week later I returned, again greeted by Sam Texler - this time with a completely different attitude. He apparently was familiar with what had taken place (despite passing me off to Larry) and when I motioned that I was going to sit down,he rudely told me not to and made me feel unwelcome and did not give a reason why. I told Sam that the reason for my return today was because I did a search online and found a white base STI in their incoming inventory. I had asked if there was room to negotiate on that car because it was not on ground yet. He said no and firmly said just STICKER. When I asked for a test drive, he became increasingly hostile and rude. Sam stated a test drive would require a deposit and a credit check and that if I needed a test-drive, the STI was not for me. I reassured Sam that I previously owned several sports cars and just wanted to make sure I could live with the car and if not, I'd be looking at a regular WRX instead and that this would be a cash purchase. He ignored me and argued regardless a credit check would be required..I questioned this and he became very condescending to me. At this point I asked for a manager because I was outraged and how he was speaking to me and I no longer felt comfortable. The manager then assigned me to Richard Janke who was at least was pleasant and helpful, but in the end the dealer was firm on price and we did not have a deal but this was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered in trying to buy a car - I have owned Porsche, BMW, Audi, Infiniti, Acura and the salespeople were always pleasant to me and helpful with the process of making my purchasing decision and never questioned my ability to afford the car. I was also able to test drive cars which were easily 2x or 3x more than the Subaru STI I am purchasing. I would think at the very least they could have ran a dealer search that had a used STI in stock that I could test drive but this dealer must have naive, repeat customers and have no interest in forming new customer relationships. I ended up placing my order elsewhere. More

A well oiled machine! Holman Cano, our sales rep, was very informative and provided us a no-pressure sales experience. Even with the constant in and out of many, many car buyers, the showroom moved in sync. We had closer options for dealerships, but we're glad we made the trip to Orangeburg, and we are very happy with our new Forester! More

Excellent Customer Service I went to 4 dealerships before I came to Bill Kolb dealership. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by smiling faces, courteous and professional I went to 4 dealerships before I came to Bill Kolb dealership. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by smiling faces, courteous and professional associates. The waiting room is quite comfortable and has a PC where you can check mail, play games, etc. This Dealership is like a well oiled machine; all the different departments and associates inter-connecting with one another until the customer is satisfied, and I AM! I drove my new CrossTrek home that night and got ready for the big storm and the next day, I had snow-plows following me! lol Thanks for the ride! More

I think the total time from my telling Howard I decided to lease to driving the car away was less than 48 hours. Both times, when I arrived at Bill Kolb, the car I was interested in was already warming up. Howard was punctual, efficient, and clear. I felt he respected my tight time schedule, and was willing to accommodate me. I drove off in my new Impreza with a really good feeling, knowing I could come back with any problems or questions. More
