Had my car in for warranty airbag service along with some other warranty repairs. Dropping the car off was an interesting experience. It was a game of hide and seek. Once the service writer was found the interaction was less than enjoyable, you know me bothering her by having her do her job. Good thing eye contact isn't required at BMW of Westbrook or she would be shirking in her responsibilities. Work was completed and I picked up car after hours without incident. I then called the following day as I had a few questions for the technician who performed the repairs on my vehicle. This alone was a challenge as during my initial interaction none of my personal information was transcribed correctly. My name and phone number were entered incorrectly into their system, this was my fault of course and was asked to call back with my invoice number. I was shocked it was so difficult to find my vehicle information so shortly after having service done. Adam, "my" service representative said that their policy is not to have service tech speak with customers. He then attempted to himself field my question, and was unable to answer it in an articulate, and intelligable manner. I then again requested to just speak with the technician as he had first hand knowledge of the repairs performed. Adam then in an arrogant telephone-tough guy tone told me they get $150 an hour and if I wanted to speak with the technician I would have to pay for his time. I agreed to pay for a 10-15 minute conversation even though I didn't want to, but how else would I be able to speak with the technician. He then renigged the paid conversation idea, despite it being introduced to me by him. At this point I came to realize that this conversation was not going to end in anything other than frustration and cordially end the phone call. It's crazy how I called with just the simplest of questions and was treated so poorly I felt the need to post a mini novel about the horrible experience I had. It makes me wonder why I am not able to speak with the technician and appears very shady like something is being hidden from me. Just sucks this is the only BMW dealer in the area. Hopefully BMW drops this outfit and a customer service oriented dealer group takes the reins. I still love my BMW 135i. Year one of the one. The staff at BMW Westbrook not so much love for them. If I had a 328 or the similar ilk I might not anything BMW after an experience like this. More
