My son and I took UBER from Nashville last week to Louisville BMW to purchase a 2018 BMW 330i with 1600 miles on it. I had put down a $500 deposit by credit card, over the phone. The salesman did not disclose that there was any damage to the car. When we arrived at the dealership, the first thing I noticed was that the back bumper had several dented and scratched places on it. I told the salesman that he had not made us aware of the damage. He said he didn't notice the damage. The damage was not shown in the online photos of the car. I expected the dealership to pay to repair the damage. The salesman said that they would not do that, so I asked to speak to the general manager. The general manager also said they would not pay to have it repaired. He said he called the owner of the dealership, and was told that he also said "no" to paying for the repair. The GM told me that they were selling the vehicle for "$4,000 under their cost" and that had no room to repair the bumper. I later looked up the wholesale value and it was around $23-25,000. I don't like to call people liars, but.... It certainly seems that there is no way that that $29,991 is $4,000 below dealer cost. The online retail value was $28-31,000. Since we were there, I decided to just buy it. Here is the most irritating part! I took it to the body shop, that was recommended by the Nashville Porsche dealer, the next week. They pointed out that the front bumper had already been painted. There was obvious orange peel and trash in the paint. Louisville BMW did not disclose this damage either. In an attempt to make the front bumper right, the collision shop said they would try to wet sand and buff the front bumper. My current cost to repair the car is $1,600 to repair back bumper and sand and buff front bumper. If the paint on front bumper is too thin, they will have to paint it at an additional cost of $1,300. This will bring my total repair cost to nearly $3,000. I looked them up on BBB to file a complaint. Their BBB rating is “F”! I have never seen a business with an F rating before. I would expect more out of an authorized BMW dealer. Buyer Beware! More
