I purchased an ESP ceramic coating package from Jhonayra at BMW Catonsville after clearly communicating my knowledge and expectations regarding the process. I originally didn’t even want the service but Jho at BMW Catonsville after clearly communicating my knowledge and expectations regarding the process. I originally didn’t even want the service but Jhonayra confidently assured me that the service would meet industry standards and my satisfaction. Regrettably, the service I received was far below expectations. Key Issues: 1. Substandard Cleaning: Despite assurances, the engine bay was inadequately cleaned, contradicting the dealership’s promise of thoroughness. Leaves and dust were evident in the engine bay, which the dealership excused by citing a policy against cleaning engines – a fact not disclosed at the time of sale. 2. Surface Damage: The car had numerous scratches post-service. Some were clearly due to the use of dirty towels during the coating process, while others, needing pre-coating buffing, were sealed beneath the ceramic layer along with rain stains. 3. Neglected Detailing: Overlooking of details was apparent. Water stains were carelessly coated over, and a piece of chewed gum stuck in the cup holder along with some trash, casting doubt on the integrity of the interior coating. 4. Inadequate Service Time: The coating process was completed in just an hour, in stark contrast to the 6 hours required by a professional detailer to correct these issues. This significant time discrepancy raises serious concerns about the level of care and thoroughness in the dealership’s service, especially for a service costing $1300. 5. Financial and Time Inconvenience: I faced additional time and financial burdens to have the inadequate detailing and ceramic coating redone. Although the manager from BMW Catonsville reached out on January 8th, acknowledging the issues and promising a refund, there has been no follow-up or refund to date. This lack of response came after I had already reported the matter to BMW corporate and left an initial review on Google, spoke with James from sales, and left a message on Jhonayra’s voicemail. Conclusion: The ceramic coating service provided by BMW Catonsville was deeply unsatisfactory, demonstrating poor workmanship and a blatant disregard for detail. The service not only failed to meet the promised standards but also resulted in additional costs and inconvenience for me. Photographic evidence of these issues has been shared on the Catonsville BMW’s Google review page for further reference. I left a voicemail today, 1/30, with the sales manager, Jerry, requesting an update on the refund. More
