Check engine light for my 2010 Audi A5 Drop off at the service center was smooth. I however didn't get a callback with a status update for almost 24 hrs. I however did get a callback once I left a voicemail. Description of the issue and recommended action was good. They said the thermostat needed to be replaced but I didn't see the specific item in the estimate. I saw water pump as one of the items in the estimate, maybe that means the thermostat and water pump need to be replaced together. I ended up taking my car to a non Audi service center as the labor charges were too high for what I was willing to pay. More

Whole story: I brought in my car for a regular service and two recalls around 10:30 Friday morning. The technician estimated that the car should be ready in 5 hours. I started to called them starting 5pm but the front desk could not even direct my calls to the technician. All she could do was to leave “urgent messages” to the technician, which he never responded. I had to continue calling them all Saturday morning asking when I could have my car back. Still, no responses from the technician ever. Eventually I decided to drive there and check out. Turned out there was only one other technician there, and he could not “work on someone else’s half-finished task.” I did expect my technician to at least give me a call explaining the delay on Monday, but all I got was a text message that my car was ready in the afternoon - no explanations. He simple ignored all my calls and messages! More

I believe the Techs lack training I had taken the car in for a code specific to one sensor. The service writer Brendan was very helpful and got me set up with a vehicle right away with I had taken the car in for a code specific to one sensor. The service writer Brendan was very helpful and got me set up with a vehicle right away with little downtime. I got my car back with a new part and repair reason for a different issue. The code returned on the way home from the dealer. Again Brendan was helpful and I was out of there fairly quickly. After some time I was notified that my warranty was voided because of an air filter installed on the vehicle 120k miles ago. Speculation from the tech with nothing to support the findings like a lab scope referencing a good sensor vs my bad sensor but blamed the filter for theoretically "making this go bad which made that go bad which caused this to go bad" etc. until every issue was cause by that filter. The solution was to replace yet another sensor except the one with the code at my expense. I've been a diesel mechanic for about 20 years and I really believe there is a lack of tech knowledge on the floor. Even with the service writer being helpful and I really believe he was arguing on my behalf with Audi Warranty. Since then I've replaced the originally failed sensor with no reoccurring faults. I cannot recommend repairs done here. More
