I recently purchased a kia seltos, brand new, not even two months ago. Discovered that the radiators can be taken out from a piece of gravel since they are low and exposed, costing almost $2k in repairs t two months ago. Discovered that the radiators can be taken out from a piece of gravel since they are low and exposed, costing almost $2k in repairs to replace since they say I can only get it repaired through kia to maintain warranty but the radiator is not covered under warranty. When the radiator got punctured I also needed to add coolant to get it to the shop. Triple checked and coolant met all kia specifications but since it wasn't coolant bought from kia, that was an extra $400 to flush. Basically brand new car, haven't even been able to put 2k miles on it to discover you can only maintain or repair with kia exclusive expensive prices or you void the warranty that you already paid for. I would warn others to not buy from kia or specifically a kia seltos unless you plan on doubling their list price to cover repairs and maintenance at this rate. Two months in and already having to pay so much from a rock the size of marble...I should never have bought this car. And seriously considering if I would be ahead to trade it in now before more expensive repairs are needed on a brand new vehicle. More
The service area needs better management to know what parts are in stock. I waited 3 hours before I asked about the long wait. They then told me they had to send out for a cabin air filter. I had an oil change appointment on Friday, and at the time, everything appeared to go smoothly. After returning home, the vehicle remained parked in my driveway for the entire weekend and was not moved a time, everything appeared to go smoothly. After returning home, the vehicle remained parked in my driveway for the entire weekend and was not moved again until Tuesday, when I needed to leave for work. At that point, I backed out of the driveway and discovered a massive oil spill left behind. As a result, I had to miss time from work in order to return the vehicle for service and leave it there for inspection and repair. In addition to the inconvenience and lost time, I am now left dealing with a significant oil stain and cleanup on my driveway. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. What makes this even more concerning is the urgency of the cleanup. Because of HOA regulations, I cannot simply leave the stain as is and address it later. I am now in the position of having to deal with a major mess, potential HOA issues, and the time and cost associated with cleaning damage that appears to have resulted directly from the service performed on my vehicle. More
