I highly recommend working with Dwayne Smallwood. This was the best car buying experience I have had, and he was the most helpful and pleasant salesperson I have dealt with. Dwayne was never pushy and really worked hard at finding me the car that suited me based on my input to him. I went back 4 times (!) and test drove several models of car. I was allowed to take the car out by myself which is a big plus (no awkwardness being inside a small-ish space with a stranger watching how you drive). This makes you feel from the get-go that the dealership "trusts you." He was VERY patient with my numerous questions, even when I asked them more than once. Which model had this feature, how to work the electronics, etc. He was very knowledgeable about all of the cars and could answer all of my questions in a simple way. The navigation system was bewildering to me (although the Nav in the Hyundai is much better than other brands I tried). He was always patient and non-judgemental. He's smart. I actually enjoyed his company which is saying a lot during the car-buying process! I highly recommend working with Dwayne. The dealership as a whole was also pleasant. I was never made to wait and was never ignored. The "guy behind the curtain" - the back/forth with numbers guy - was straightforward, no feeling of bait/switch. Dwayne Smallwood was very friendly, he knew the dealers stock very well and quickly found the exact cars that I said I wanted to see. Initial contact was thru internet, I decided to call and recieved excellent customer service from the salesman, Dwayne Smallwood. I was appreciative of the smooth transaction that took place and the atmosphere was better than that of the last 5 dealers I went to. I was transferred to Gary Rubenstein on the phone who was the manager that gave me many options that fit my needs and didnt force me into a certain Package just to get a sunroof. Dwayne was actually interested in making a sale and working with me. I got an affordable sedan with more bells and whistles than I expected. Keyword being Affordable. The custom leather worked out great and the upgrades did not take long at all. This was a good experience at a dealer which is rare. Complimentary loaner was a nice touch. Gave me a chance to experience a different trim level too. This is not a paid review, and to be honest I have never had a good experience at a dealer until now. These guys will play ball its as simple as that. Again I am pleasantly surprised at the service provided After the sale was made a week ago. Thanks again guys. More
First of all, I gave Quality of Work a 5 because they have great people in the service department. I've never had an issue there. Or at least they did until JB started switching people around or gettin have great people in the service department. I've never had an issue there. Or at least they did until JB started switching people around or getting rid of them.... But I had originally been dealing with Dwayne Smallwood as my sales rep. In the meantime, JB Burnette, the General Manager got involved, not sure why because I was still test driving cars before deciding on what I wanted for sure yet. But JB kept pushing for me to get the fully equipped 2012 Azera that he had. But I had no problem with Dwayne Smallwood as a sales rep. On the other hand, I did with JB Burnette! He has a lot to learn about the meaning of the word "deal" and what giving someone your word means, or coming to terms to make a deal... I thought at least three times he and I had come to terms on a 2012 fully loaded Azera in his showroom. But boy was I totally wrong! As it turns out, they had the Azera a month, maybe a little over it. And each time I went in there, he kept promising that he was going to make me a deal on that car and I would not be leaving without it. He liked me....yeah, right.... Well, on June 2nd, 2012 I went in and he promised me that I was not going to be able to turn down the deal this time, because he said I still have your car here and I said yes you do, its been over a month now and its still here and we finally came to terms (OR so I thought) and I was so excited that I was finally done and getting this car to take home that day! The game playing wore me out! And no need for it either. I told him that I don't want a payment over $500 and he said, okay, how about $499.99 and I know he was joking then, but he promised me that he meant it in me leaving with this car that day. And I had plenty of witnesses that heard all this as well. Then he said where would you like to feel comfortable in being and what was the payment in your other car and I told him. I figured that my new car would cost more a month, but not what he wanted. I saw no deal here.... In fact, he was so sure that he had it taken out of the showroom and prepped and my tags were going to be put on the car. Only when I got to the last paper to sign at financing, he tried to sneak in a payment that we did not agree on! In fact, the payment that he wanted originally!!!! I told him nothing more than $500 and it turned out to be $526 and that may sound like not much of a difference, but it was not what we agreed on and he did not think that I would walk since it was only that much more a month. And, since the car was practically ready to drive away that I would go along with it. WRONG!!!! Apparently you cannot make a deal with someone who says "agreed" then keeps changing it! This was an exhausting time to say the least! I was horrified....and tell everyone of my experience. And there were customers in there that heard it as well and left, they said, they don't need to be treated like that, and when they found out that I had been a loyal customer for almost 8 years and talked down to like that, they could not believe it. And one woman told me, well, get hold of Jack, maybe he will say yes and no games! JB really has no experience for this position, and certainly no tact, nor professionalism at all. He really needs to go to a customer service class as well. He certainly is not a good example of the dealership. My first experience in 2005 could not have gone better or smoother or quicker! I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop after that deal, but it went great! I was over the moon and gave the highest ratings for the dealership too! But I went to walk out over this with JB and he called me over to his counter, where his sales people were standing and he said to me, "I don't know what you "think" you heard, but that is not what I said" - I think he wanted an audience or witnesses, to look like an important person in front of his crew. But I was not buying it. First of all, learn some tact and class buddy! You NEVER treat a customer like that, and, especially one that was totally loyal to you for almost 8 years right down to the windshield wipers! And I had been there longer than he has been. How dare he think he can talk to me like that! Or any customer, or potential customer! JB also yelled across the shop to someone and openly asked, will her car pass inspection! I said, well if it does not, its your all's fault! It's always been cared for here only! I kept my maintenance up on it as scheduled, if not ahead of time and my car had no dings, dents or scratches on it at all. In fact, the gloss and shine and pin striping still looked brand new as well as the leather interior. He was so tacky! I was told he is 24 or 25 years old and holding a position like this only after a few months of being a sales rep.????? Really? Needless to say, I immediately walked out on 6/02/12 and wrote Michael Antwerpen (Jack Antwerpen's son) and emailed on 6/03/12 and resent it on on 6/04/12 just because I was not sure that it went thru the first time. And, then I mailed a hard copy of the complaint to Michael Antwerpen on 6/19/12 and today is 7/09/12 and have yet to hear back from him either! So, I guess he is not caring at all about this..so this just shows his lack of concern about losing a customer too! I guess car sales are better than I thought if you have no fear in turning people away, right? Oh by the way, here is a big one too, when I did go to another place to buy my car, I was in the showroom and heard a lady say not only to me, but someone else that she and JB are good friends, only he does not give deals, so she did not buy her car from him, or even go to Clarksville to find out. In fact, she bought one from where I was right then and there! So, now, does this say something too? Food for thought: I guess what goes around, does comes around....Because if you treat people like crap or like they don't matter, people won't come again..... But I will NEVER darken the doorsteps of Antwerpen Hyundai. And I informed Hyundai of it as well....and believe me, word of mouth does get around fast.... More

we told them the price we had already received from several other dealers and they beat that price. we were in and out of the dealership in about 2 hours there was no upsell or pressure to buy anything several other dealers and they beat that price. we were in and out of the dealership in about 2 hours there was no upsell or pressure to buy anything.
