I had gone over the car details with the salesperson before I got there. Once there, a $400 add-on was sprung on me as something done to “all of our cars- there is no choice”. On a $24k vehicle, that’s before I got there. Once there, a $400 add-on was sprung on me as something done to “all of our cars- there is no choice”. On a $24k vehicle, that’s a significant increase. I know dealerships like to fo that to milk a bit more out of a sale, but it should be discussed with the customer first. The salesperson said he was new as an excuse. OK, then the blame falls to his supervisor. That guy was also making excuses, and actually told me, “We’re running a business, not a charity.” Quite rude. Seriously, when your dealership personnel make a mistake, the dealership should eat the cost, not make excuses. Period. Then they told me that they were “giving me” $500 in loyalty cash. That’s silly, as that comes from Mazda, not the dealership. Look, snowing someone with a smile is still insulting. They ended up letting the price of the add on (brake flash) go for $270. Movement in the right direction, but not acceptable. They told me it was a mistake, and the sales rep would learn from it. That’s great, and I, the customer, still paid for this guy’s mistake. They also told me “Well, you drove all they way here, and we can easily sell this car, so…” Yeah, just giving me the shaft. Look, Bryson was nice, but his supervisor and the manager failed after he made a mistake. The finance guy was cool. Hope his back gets better after his accident. More
Bryson overall did a good job. A couple of things happened that were unfortunate and unprofessional in my view that leads me to an overall rating of 2/5 stars. We had discussed win A couple of things happened that were unfortunate and unprofessional in my view that leads me to an overall rating of 2/5 stars. We had discussed window tinting, which was done as I asked, but there was a nearly $400 add-on for the brakes to flash when you apply them. I get that it's a safety feature, but we had not discussed it beforehand, and when I got there Bryson told me that they "put this on all our cars" and that there was no choice in the matter. I'm sure he was told to say this, but such is never the case. Add-ons are never necessary. They are cute ways for dealerships to make a little extra money. That's fine, and I frequently choose some of them (like I did with the tint) for convenience. He just said he "was new", so didn't know how things worked very well. That may be honest, but those above have experience, and I asked to speak with one of them. That individual was mostly courteous, but he too tried to snow me, and ended up saying, "We're running a business, not a charity." Seriously? He also made an excuse about Bryson being new. The actual guy in charge never came out of his office, but obviously the department was unwilling to correct the "mistake" made by their junior associate. They offered me $120 off, and I took it. Still, not a completely forthright company. In my opinion, if your guy makes a mistake, you pay. Period. The finance guy was nice. No undue pressure. More
