Think of worst case scenario because that is what I got. My RX8 needed a diagnostic and compression check. So I called Naples Mazda. Well, apparently there was a recall that needed to be addressed as we My RX8 needed a diagnostic and compression check. So I called Naples Mazda. Well, apparently there was a recall that needed to be addressed as well. So, I made an appointment for several days later as there is ONLY ONE master technician, Eric, who is qualified to work on an RX8 due to its rotary engine. No problem...so far. Anyway, I drove my car to the service department at the scheduled time and left it there thinking it will probably take a couple of days for the recall to be completed as well as the diagnostic and compression check. Several days went by and I heard nothing so I called to find out when my car would be ready for pickup and I was told that the technician would call me back. A couple more days went by and I still heard nothing so I called again only to be told the same thing. Since my car had now been MIA for a week and a half and nobody was returning my calls, I decided to go there to speak with somebody who could tell me what was going on with my car. It was at this point that they told me they had just received the parts for the recall and would complete the work the following day; however, there was a problem. Apparently, after they moved my car, the engine was flooded and they were asking me to pay $600 to de-flood the engine (that they flooded). Now, on top of the fact that nobody would return my calls (poor customer service), I now feel like I am being scammed. This turned my irritation into anger; so, of course, I refused. And since they could not start the car, they were unable to complete the diagnostic and compression check; therefore, I told them I wouldn't be paying for that either and informed them that my husband would come and de-flood the engine himself then drive the car home. At the time, I was ready to take my business elsewhere and leave it at that. Unfortunately, before pickup of the vehicle, I was told that while they were trying to start the car (who knows how many times), they drained my brand new battery. Okay.. fine! We will jump start then de-flood. Nope! Apparently, the starter was damaged as well. AND...we ended up having to tow the car home. THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE UNTIL I LEFT IT IN THE INCOMPETENT HANDS OF NAPLES MAZDA!! Now, I am stuck paying for a rental car until I can get my car situated. I will never do business with Naples Mazda again and I will be sure to tell all of my friends and family to make their friends and family aware and so on... More
