My experience with Seguin Chevrolet's service department has been one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I've ever had, and it raises one simple question: I scheduled an appointmen department has been one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I've ever had, and it raises one simple question: I scheduled an appointment and dropped my vehicle off for two concerns: a failed backup camera and a possible exhaust leak. When I arrived, I was told the repair could take 2–3 days, which I understood. My expectation was that a scheduled appointment meant the vehicle would at least be diagnosed promptly. By Wednesday, I had received no updates, so I called the service department myself. I was told the technician believed my backup camera had failed because of my aftermarket rear diffuser. That explanation made absolutely no sense. The diffuser is simply attached over the factory bumper with 3M tape—the bumper has never been removed—making it highly unlikely to have anything to do with the camera failure. Based on that explanation, it was obvious to me that a thorough inspection had not been performed. I asked my service advisor to have the car ready the following morning because I intended to take it elsewhere. Ironically, about 15 minutes later, I received another call stating that the shop manager had reviewed the situation, instructed the team to disregard the technician's initial assessment, and assured me the vehicle would be properly looked at. I was promised an update on Thursday. Thursday came and went—no call. On Friday, I once again had to call the dealership myself. This time I was told the vehicle had not been inspected because there was only one lift capable of accommodating my car. While I understand that diagnosing an exhaust leak may require a lift, I'm still trying to understand why a failed backup camera would prevent any progress from being made. The lack of communication continued. I finally picked up my vehicle on Friday, July 10, after it had been sitting at the dealership for nearly two full weeks. Unfortunately, the disappointment didn't end there. When my car was brought around, I immediately noticed that the white leather driver's seat was covered with grease and oil, apparently transferred from the mechanic's clothing. There was no attempt to clean it, until i brought it up to my service advisor. Anyone who owns a vehicle with white leather knows how unacceptable this is. To make matters worse, my $50 key fob cover had been disassembled, and the screws that held it together were missing. No one mentioned that it had been taken apart. No one explained why it was necessary. And to top it all off, the very reasons I brought the vehicle in were never resolved. After nearly two weeks at the dealership, my backup camera still doesn't work, and the possible exhaust leak remains. After all the delays, excuses, missed callbacks, changing explanations, and inconvenience, I left with the exact same issues I arrived with—plus a grease-stained driver's seat and damaged key fob cover. The repairs themselves are only part of the issue. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of communication, attention to detail, and respect for my property. Throughout this experience, I had to initiate nearly every conversation. Promised callbacks never came. Diagnoses changed. Excuses changed. My vehicle sat for almost two weeks. It was returned dirty inside, personal property was damaged, and none of the original concerns were corrected. This isn't the level of service customers expect when they trust a dealership with their vehicle—especially one that advertises professional service. Customer service isn't just about fixing cars. It's about communication, accountability, craftsmanship, and returning a customer's vehicle in the same—or better—condition than when it arrived. Unfortunately, my experience with Seguin Chevrolet reflected the exact opposite. Nearly two weeks without meaningful communication, an incorrect initial diagnosis, damage to my vehicle's interior.
