Although it was time for a new car and the idea of looking and choosing a new make and model was exciting, the whole process seemed daunting.
My old car was 18 years old and had served me well. There was still nothing really wrong with it, but I had been needing a car with better seats for my back when driving on the highway and was ready for an upgrade. For many years I had admired the Volvo station wagon when I saw one on the road. There were several other makes and models I was interested in trying as well. I also knew that I wanted a vehicle that was lower to the ground, which ruled out a lot of SUVs.
I began the process of car shopping back in early spring. I met Ben Cauffman when I stopped in at the Volvo dealership for the first time. I immediately felt totally comfortable with him; he was friendly, knowledgeable, and put me at ease. There was no pressure! Ben understood that I had just started looking for a new car and needed to try different makes and models and also needed time to reflect on what I tried. One of the great things was that he was able to help me try other cars at the Auto Mall! That alone saved the time of having to explain to a new salesperson at another car brand lot what I wanted in a car. It also simplified the process. Ben was very easy to get a hold of when I had a question or wanted to set up another appointment to test drive. He was just so easy to work with. I appreciated his honesty, his knowledge about different cars, and his experience in the business. With all the new technology on cars now, Ben was great at explaining how things I wasn't used to worked. In addition, and I never thought I would be saying this about car shopping, he made the process fun!
On June 27th, I bought my first Volvo. I can honestly say that I love my new car. I know that there are a few "technology things" that I will have to go back to have explained to me again, and Ben has made me feel welcome to come in any time for his help with those items. In conclusion, I appreciate the respect shown, good manners, and classiness of my salesman and the dealership as a whole. What a positive experience!
