I had a great experience at CarMax and would absolutely recommend them. I came in with a pretty unique and challenging situation. My previous vehicle had significant negative equity, needed expensive repairs, and simply wasn't worth fixing. I had already visited two other dealerships, and neither was able to help me. Despite my less-than-ideal circumstances, the CarMax team took the time to work with me and find a solution. They helped me get approved, found a vehicle that I genuinely liked, and structured payments that fit within my budget. The financing isn't perfect, but it's something I can comfortably manage until I'm able to refinance in the future. A special thank you to the young lady who helped us—I believe her name was Lilly. Her patience, professionalism, and kindness throughout the process were incredible. She new how stressfull this was or me, but she answered all of our questions, never made us feel rushed, and stuck with us through every step of the process. Buying a car can be stressful, especially when you're dealing with negative equity and financial challenges, but CarMax made the experience far easier than I expected. I will definitely be recommending CarMax to my family and friends and sending referrals their way. Thank you for helping me get into a reliable vehicle when I really needed it!

This has gone from being a great purchase to a nightmare. I came in from out of state in order to purchase a 2024 Honda CRV EX. The car itself has been great, runs fine, and only defect of not having side doors automatically open when you put your hand on drivers side door. However, the deal behind the car has been nothing but deceitful as I have come to learn over this past week. The MSRP on the car was $26,194, and now granted I knew there were gonna be a few more things tacked on too but I also knew I had a few other options down the street (albeit those CRVs being a year or two older than this one) in the event I didn’t like the number I was given. When I sat down at the table, they wanted around $30K, not terrible but not really favorable in my opinion either. I gave the guy my “walkout the door”(ALL fees and taxes and what not included) at $28.5K. He wasn’t crazy about it and then pulled up the second page (that I had already seen previously) of how much everything would be - MINUS TAXES ASIDE AND ONLY TAXES ASIDE - which came out to be $27,632 USD in full price. He went back to his people and after 15-20 mins of chatting, he came back and agreed to my $28.5K as the complete out the door number right then and there!!!! I had already gotten an insurance policy for this car, put down a $1K deposit to hold it, planned out an entire 3 day trip up the east coast and just wanted to start getting back at this point as I had an 8 hr ride to Charleston. The $28,500 was the final price for everything (or so I thought) and I had gotten a fairly good deal. Fast forward to last week, as im filling out the title and registration application for Massachusetts, my rep tells me NO TAXES WERE PAID according to my purchaser docs. The $28,500 only included an electronic filing fee and “pre-delivery” charges. But nothing else. The salesman absolutely lied to my face and screwed me out the door. I should have been better in looking over what I got and not being so trustworthy of these people, and shame on me for that. But then it also make me think, if everything for the car without taxes was $27,632 and I paid $28,500, what did I pay an extra $868.00 for?!? Talk about deceit with a smile of screw Best part though, they still haven’t titled the car over to me after nearly being two weeks since I purchased it (05/09). I have called twice trying to speak to rep (Matt) and Business Manager (Chem) and have gotten only a call back from a different manager who had NOTHING to do with the sale of the vehicle. Buyer Beware. Would NOT do business with again and am considering all options to remedy this situation. But don’t sign their agreements. Get a lawyer or paralegal to look it over and compare the fine print to what they originally try to tell/sell you on.

The bank will not loan on the car like Alex said it would. Mountain America WILL NOT lend the fool amount on a branded or rebuilt vehicle. He said to take these papers into the bank and everything will be fine. Well it's not fine. He kept saying, "If you have a good working relationship with they will lend 100%. I can literal reference hundreds of times this has worked." That's right blame us for your error in not taking us they would only lend at 60% at best. If you've encountered this over one hundred times you knew this would happen and you said NOTHING! I asked the credit union about this statement, they said that's illegal. My wife's credit is down almost 60 points thanks to these individuals.

Classic used car tricks. Spent hours their discussing and finalizing terms verbally, then they tried to claim they got the terms confused because I was "looking at other cars too and those cars had warranties but not the car you picked out" Baloney. They tried to upsell me on different cars but I never expressed serious interest in any of them. But they claimed that their warranties only applied to certain cars. They could have made that clear from the beginning.

i had bought a 1999 blazer from matera motors for $5000.When the deal was made he had promised to fix a oil leak and replace faulty parts for the deal.When i took the truck home i noticed that the oil leak was still present.I then took the blazer to a certified chevy dealer the mechanic handed me a list of problems that made my heart fall out of my chest.He said that matera had not fixed the problem and the man said the best thing would be to take it back it was a lemon.Not to mention i had a warrinty for the engine which matera refused to honor.I fought tooth and nail for matera to fix the problem he promised, not counting the many others.Eventually through contacting autorities he promised to pay for half of the enginge work with help from local legal authority.Well he then took back his word and decided not to help with any of the problems.I was pressured through going broke tring to fight this crook in court or pay myself.I had to invest another $4000 to have the truck run and still to this day i have contuning problems.This man will stab you in the back I DONT LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So here is your warning do not buy a car or truck from this man his objective in business is to buy broken cars put a bandaid on it then screw you over so you have to invest thousands into the car.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

I've told my car guy friends about this place. Can't find what you want, tell them what you're looking for. Let them do the work and find that car or truck for you.
