I had a terrible experience at South Houston Nissan, - Jeff
I had a terrible experience at South Houston Nissan, and I only chose this dealership because it was the closest to my residence. I had my own pre-approved financing and expected a smooth process, but I ended up spending over five hours there. Two months ago, I did a similar deal at Baker Nissan and was in and out in just one hour, so this was a complete contrast.
After I signed the paperwork, they suddenly hit me with a deposit requirement of $2,000 to $4,000, despite me clearly stating from the start that I wasn’t putting anything down. They offered to reduce it to $1,000, but it was still completely unreasonable. When I voiced my frustration, I was told to leave, as this was apparently the General Manager's "rule."
While I did end up buying the vehicle, if I could do it over again, I wouldn't have gone through with it. My wife loves the car, but the unprofessional and inexperienced staff made the whole experience unbearable. To make matters worse, after South Houston Nissan submitted the wire transfer for my deposit, they failed to include their bank information, which delayed my refund by another four days.
When it came time for them to pay off my loan for the vehicle I traded in, SOUTH Houston Nissan took 3+ weeks to pay off my trade in. Which forced me to pay 2 payments from the time I traded it in. I requested the GM to call or speak to him and never talked to him. Finance dept told me several different lies and tried blaming the length of time on me when it was South Houston Nissan whom didn’t know how to put their information down so they could get paid.
I strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you want a smooth, efficient car-buying experience. This was not worth the headache. Drive across town to a different dealership, I had a great experience with Baker Nissan.
